My prime rib was tough and shrimp was swimming in butter. I could cook it better at home. Wine list was lacking.

We were disappointed with our dinner at Rygate. The decor is nice and the dining room isrelatively quiet. The wine list looked nice, but they were out of the first two bootles of wine we asked for. We wound up with a much more expensive bottle of wine than we planned for. My wife had the filet and i had the smoked prime rib. The seasoning rub on the steak overpowered the steak itself. All my wife could taste was the cumin in the rub. The smoked prime rib had the opposite problem - the meat itself had very little flavor. I tasted the smoke, but the only other flavor came from the horseradish served with it. Overall, a very dissapointing dinner.

It was alright and nothing special. Their steaks were not cured or aged. For a place that advertises itself as a steakhouse it does not have a good selection. Their beer/wine list was not that impressive either.

Great experience... Prime Rib melted in my mouth. And My Wife's allergies were properly cared for by the Server, Manager and Chef. Its rare to see such careful attention given, when more often, her dietary restrictions seem to be more of a burden. Not at the RyeGate!.. Thanks again!

I was disappointed in my visit to the RyeGate. The steaks arrived undercooked and my potatoes were cold in spots. The meal was definitely not worth the money. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but in this price range there shouldn't be any bad nights.

Our server showed up a total of 3 times on the table... Twice to take orders and once to deliver bill... So that's pretty frustrating. And $4 for a TINY bit of bleu cheese on top of my sirloin is a bit offensive. Maybe this was because we came in at 8:30PM? Not sure, but then again I'm not sure I'll give this place another shot by coming in earlier...

We went there for the Winter Bites special. The night would have been terrific except for one major flaw. We waited almost 1 hour between our appetizers and our dinner to be served. The waiter kept us informed of the delays, but it was just too long. I understand there was an issue in the kitchen per the waiter, but it was still a very long night. Other than that the food, presentation, ambiance were good.

I was disappointed in the RyeGate. I had the Ribeye which was chewy. I would have sent it back, except I never saw the waitress again after we got our food. The ceaser salad was ok but had huge hunks of garlic clove in it. I didn't love it. I dealt the overall presentation of my dish was poor. But my wife really enjoyed hers. So I gave extra marks I'd never go back. Was a real disappointment for a steak house

The French Onion Soup was definitely 5 star. Loved the pearl onions and the crunchy bread. I asked for an end cut of prime rib and certainly got what I wished for. Seared on the outside and pink in the middle. I would have preferred not to have had my baked potato in all the juices as I prefer to eat the outside skins and for them not to be soggy. Overall a very good dining experience. thank you. The server did a very good job of looking after our needs.

First off I found the staff professional. When I hear "How are youze guys, or you guys right away I am offended. The hostess greeted us with Good Evening, can I take your coats?" We were lead to our table and seated. We were allowed time to get settled and within a few minutes the waitress was at the table for beverage orders. The evening progressed at a nice pace, we were not rushed nor were we interrupted often. The food was amazing not only in taste but in presentation and appeal. I will rate this dining experience a 5 star.

We felt extremely welcome as soon as we approached the restaurant. The hostess was polite and pleasant, and even took our coats. Upon sitting down, I noticed what a notable wine list they carry! I had the Pinot Noir by the glass, which was exquisite. We ordered the calamari, mussels (in both sauces), the "RyeGate Crispy Roll", and the baked chevre as appetizers. All of the appetizers were delectable! I decided to try the Ribeye steak, and It was the most flavourful steak I have ever tasted. The rest of my party also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The service was EXCEPTIONAL despite it being busy for a Sunday evening. There is something on the menu to accommodate all tastes. Overall, I would highly recommend The RyeGate!

I had the bone-in ribeye with mashed potatoes, my wife had the sesame halibut with basmati pilaf. The fish was better than the steak, only because the steak was overcooked in spots, rather unevenly cooked, the bites that were medium were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the bites that were well, were...well. The mashed potatoes were excellent, and the rice pilaf was surprisingly good (we've found most places undercook basmati). The service was good, very helpful, not outstanding, but still good. The ambiance was very good, it's a beautiful restaurant and the live music was a nice touch. I would go there again and try the ribs, i don't think I'd order a steak again, unfortunately, because I can overcook a steak at home for under $30!

The Rye Gate was very clean, pretty to look at and generally a nice quiet (although fairly busy) place to eat for a special occasion. It tends to be pricey which is the main reason why I would only go for special occasions, roughly $50 per person which included one appetizer, one main selection and one alcoholic beverage, without dessert. I ordered the Caesar Salad which was very delicious with a unique twist - prosciutto instead of bacon, roasted whole garlic cloves sprinkled on top, and polenta croutons. I followed this up with the Supreme of Chicken - a rich and delicious chicken leg stuffed with mascarpone cheese and served with fluffy red garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed zucchini all smothered in a cream-pear sauce. Do go there!
