The inspiration for Stella’s Table comes from our family of Mediterranean immigrants who settled into the Detroit area following WWII and then made their way to the Highland-White Lake community in the early 1950’s. They brought with them a love of great food, drink and storytelling along with a passion of sharing this love with friends, family and neighbors. On many nights and weekends generations of families could be found congregating around a massive kitchen table enjoying classic Italian dishes and drink while exchanging the day’s events with pride, laughter and sometimes tears. Stella’s Table is our take on bringing these timeless traditional values to our current day world.

We haven't been to the Root in a few years and we were not disappointed! The food was excellent, service great, and ambience very comfortable. We will return sooner.

I thought it was very nice of the management to have a Veterans dinner. The four choices were nice too. Our server was really busy with to many tables. He certainly was professional. My meatloaf was on the spicy side but I ate it. My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad and it had very little chicken and the romaine lettuce was not cut which made it very hard to eat. Your Pinot grico wine selection was excellent.

Haven’t been to The Root since it has been under the new ownership but it did not disappoint. Went for brunch and everyone in our party was happy with their food and beverage choices. Apple cider mimosas were good but the cocktails were excellent! Glad to see that the new management has stayed true to your roots (see what I did there...?). We will be back! P. S. Love the community table—that tree trunk base!!

One of our favorite places to eat at. Wonderful food and drinks. Ask to be sat in Katie’s section, she is our favorite waitress and always takes amazing care of us.

For the last few years, The Root has been one of our favorite restaurants, but we ate there on Saturday and it just wasn't good. The menu has changed (I get it...always have to tweak it), but I was very disappointed that they took the Pork Chop off...I know there are a ton of people (myself included) that loved it. The 4 meals we ordered were Braised Pork Shank (meh), the Salmon (plain with couscous drenched in lemon sauce), the Smoked 1/2 chicken (dry) and the Filet (decent at best). Our server was pleasant and the ambiance hasn't changed...just not a fan of the new menu and quality of the 4 meals we received for $150.00. We'll keep an eye on the menu and may give it another chance when things change.

Food overall nice. Onion soup a bit sweet, sloppy Joe great, crab cakes would have been better with slaw on side of cakes rather than on top as this made the cakes really mushy.
