The Rookwood Bar & RestaurantI have been here in years,I have been here in years, and now that Jackson is on board...I will be there more often. Great menu, great look, great patio, Great Chef!!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a delightful brunchWe had a delightful brunch at Rookwood on Sunday before going to the theatre at nearby Playhouse in the Park. Two of us had "breakfast" items and one had "lunch" but all three of us enjoyed our food. The service was very good and the Bloody Marys were great. Considering that it was Mother's Day, the restaurant wasn't very crowded, but we were there pretty early. The parking lot was filling up as we were leaving, so we may have beat the rush. We would certainly return to Rookwood if we are in Cincinnati again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Cocktails! We found this place on OpenTable and were not disappointed. Our meal was selections from the appetizer/salad/small plates menu, and everything was delicious, especially the Lamb Meatballs.
A special shout-out for the cocktail and beer menus. Some not-so-common bottled beers, and the Proper Cocktails alone were worth a return trip. Be sure and try The Tailored Misfit and the Sazerac. A *very* worthy experience.
Oh, and the building itself is uniquely wonderful. Built in an 1892 pottery factory and still retaining the kilns, structure, and detail, the atmosphere is warm and the space is interesting and inviting.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting food selectionThe food is very interesting in taste as well as combination ........exceptional service.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect girls night outMy friends and I decided to go out for a special dinner to celebrate all of life's little (and big) victories. I hadn't been to The Rookwood in years, and most of my friends had never been at all, but I thought it would be the perfect place for a very eclectic group of women. We were fortunate enough to be seated in our own private kiln where we could laugh over bottles of wine and not disrupt other guests. The food was wonderful and accommodating for both our vegetarian and gluten-free friends. And to top it all off, the pot de creme and gelato was fabulous!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time to The Rookwood,Our first time to The Rookwood, and we've heard so many great things about it. It didn't disappoint.great renovation, fantastic menu with unique options, and friendly staff. I highly recommend the bourbon-soaked fig & bourbon cocktail "the tailored misfit" and their hanky pankies (appetizer).4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBachelorette party successWhen I made a reservation online I had noted that it was going to be a bachelorette party group of gals and wondered if they could set us up in a private area not knowing what they would set up for us. When we arrived they very friendly and courteous and let us know our table wasn't quite ready and gave us all a glass of champagne on the house. Then when they were ready they led us passed all the great dining room seating into one of the awesome kilns with amazing ambiance and lighting. We all had a great time in that private setting celebrating our friend and her upcoming wedding. Thanks so much Rookwood for providing us with an unforgettable great start to our special night out!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways GreatI went to The Rookwood this past weekend and had another great experience, as I always do. The food is tasty and reasonably priced, with some unique twists. Do yourself a favor and try the Fig Burger, with onion-fig jam and an herbed goat cheese mousse. It's the best burger around. They added lettuce recently, which is totally unnecessary, so I'll have to remember to say "no lettuce" from now on. My wife had the Barnsdale Burger and enjoyed that too. The fries are fantastic!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service, comfortableGreat food and service, comfortable upscale atmosphere. Enjoyed our visit4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTook friends for the firstTook friends for the first time and they loved it!
Thanks for another wonderful experience!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat First Anniversary SpotMy wife and I went here for our first wedding anniversary and they completely astounded us. The service was excellent and courteous and my wife's drink, the Jack Rose, was delicious (but strong, despite the dainty name). Her BLT burger and my Pork Belly Sandwich were both amazing. Definitely spring for the Grippo's Fries. We finished with the bread pudding and key lime pie, both of which were incredible. Would highly recommend.
Full disclosure: to celebrate our anniversary, they gave us our dessert for free.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost perfectAmazing food, as always. Attentive, charming server who made sure everything was just right, which we really enjoyed.
The music selection left a lot to be desired though :(
Aside from the music, this would've been a 5 star night! Thanks Rookwood!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA little overpriced but overallA little overpriced but overall a very good restaurant experience.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Wine List. If you'reExcellent Wine List. If you're stuck on a wine selection as for Rom - he'll help you out as he did us. This is the only restaurant that I've seen more than one selection of Orin Swift's collections....highly impressive.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
