  • Rooftop Grill - quiet Oasis

Our lunch was a quiet oasis with a specatular view of Los Angeles. It was a perfect meeting place to enjoy lunch, talk and the view. It's expensive, and even though it's a hotel - give it a try. You'll be happy you did.

People should know, with the exception of the burgers, this is really spa cuisine. Small portions, big prices. I guess if you are a tourist, no problem for slow service but when on a lunch hour, no way you can do it. Food used to be much better and decent sizes, even on the salads. My salad was served in a small soup bowl. My guest ordered an entrée, which was also served in what could be a small cereal bowl and the piece of salmon was a joke. Everything in there could have fit on the small bread plate. I do not mind paying higher prices when you are satisfied after a meal. We were not satisfied. Back to Via Alloro I go.

When I am looking for a lunch location with nice atmosphere, good food and quiet enough to have a good conversation, I always think of the Rooftop Grill at the Montage. This is my go to spot in Beverly Hills and never disappoints. I prefer the Cobb Salad but all are excellent, they will brew a nice black iced tea for you and the service is always appropriately attentive. There is a fantastic view from one end of the restaurant overlooking the Hills, but you will be happy with any table as it is small and welcoming.

Beautiful day, excellent view, and the food was better than usual (which is still usually good). Fried calamari appetizer was a real surprise. Longer strips like fish sticks with three good dipping sauces. And again, that crack of a dessert - the espresso tiramisu was fantastic.

What else is new? Menu options are good not great. Hotel dining always requires middle of the road cuisine. Everything prepared and presented well. Could be a bit healthier. Staff is amazingly friendly all the way around. View and setting are spectacular. Just wish food came close. Best thing we had was probably the tiramisu, which while standard stuff, was exceptionally well done.

This place is gorgeous! It's on the rooftop (level 9) placed right next to the hotels pool, they have a beautiful divider that keeps it separate but you are still able to enjoy the view all around. The food was excellent and had Vegan options (which I always look for since I'm Vegan) I love that they made that easy by already having a Vegan entree. They also had bottomless Mimosas, Blood Mary's & Bellinis. This became my new favorite brunch spot!

Amazing views of the Hollywood hills! We had Easter brunch there and enjoyed dining al fresco. Food was good, we had the chicken and waffles and the salmon benedict. Drinks were pricey at $14 each, or $22 unlimited mimosas/bellinis. It was busy, and at times difficult to find our server. The manager, however, was visible and helped us get our check. We did get billed for the unlimited bellinis, instead of individual. This was quickly remedied, but a reminder to always review your check.Despite the pricey-ness of the food and drinks, it is a great place to take an out of towner or perhaps a date you'd like to impress!

Even when you know it's going to be expensive or, perhaps just because it is, you still expect some price/value relationship will exist. It doesn't here. Food, except for the chorizo flatbread and crab Louie, was boring in both presentation and flavor. Cobb salad presentation is just silly....at $24. Server very pleasant but poorly trained. Table maintenance poor. Had to ask for drink refills, etc. we were told this was the 'pool restaurant' but you call yourself The Rooftop Grill'. Figure out what you ant to be and then do it really well. Lots of work to be done here. And stop saying 'my pleasure' in response to every request. There are many other suitable responses.

We asked for breakfast menu (breakfast was over at 11.00 am ) he was kind and accommodate our needs. Food was delicious and presentation was great . While we were waiting for our friends we received a complimentary treat from the chef . First Class :) Thank you and we will come back and recommend your place.
