  • "Very good restaurant. Only negative is the extreme reverberation that makes communicatiogn difficult."

  • "Very good restaurant with great seafood. Nice presentation of dishes. Dessert was also very good. Decor was average."

  • "Had a great time! I went for my birthday and a group of 5 and the food was great and so was the service. My only recommendation is that the lighting was too dark. Also I thought it was awkward for the waiter to place a slice of cake and light the candle to walk away without saying happybirthday"

  • "WHAT A GREAT FIND! Although area construction made parking a challenge, they do have valet on Thursday thru Saturday and parking behind the building. At a glance from the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much; however, once inside you see the crowd and a great bar. We started with oysters of course. The raw bar menu had a selection of 10 different oysters. We had the Blue Points, a sample from Rhode Island and another from British Colombia… all were fresh and delicious. Then we had the fire-roasted oysters, which were also delicious. For dinner, Florida stone crab and a ribeye… GREAT! To finish it all off, blackberry and pear crumble… another winner. This one's a keeper!"

  • "We love seafood and especially raw bar items and wine. A bit pricey, but very good if you don't mind being 3 feet from neighboring tables. Still, we enjoyed it and would return when, hopefully the surrounding construction and street closures subside."

  • "tTHE SERVICE WAS POOR. WATER GLASSES WERE NOT REFILLED. THE WAITER AND BUS BOY WERE INDIFFRERENT. I BROUGHT SPECIAL GUESTS FROM OUT OF TOWN AND MY WIFE AND I WERE EMBARASSED BY THE DELAY AND SERVICE. THIIS WAS THE FIRST BAD EXPERIENCE AT THIS RESTAURANT"

  • "If you like waiting 45 minutes every time you're out for dinner, you will love this place. Last week was our third time in this restaurant and our table wasn't ready yeat again. Another 45 - 60 minute wait. I don't know why we keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt and go back, but this time was the last. Never again. Not only do you have to wait, but the bar is always packed, so you have to stand there at the door like you're in the new york subway on rush hour. This is not why I go out to have dinner. Always very stressful. And you would think that they would at least had given us desert on the house. But nope. So many better options in Brickell than this place."

  • "Oysters were half price at happy hour...$1.50 instead of $3 and they were delicious. Everything else about the meal was terrific too. We'll be back."

  • "As on previous visits this one was outstanding as well. Had a dozen oysters during happy hour followed by their mussels which are a must!! The mussel juice with coconut milk was just awesome. Had the salt baked Branzini for main course. Absolutely the best. To top it off, had a great dessert and espresso. A great meal, almost $100 per person including drinks and gratuity. Worth every penny!!!"

  • "Great selection of shellfish and fish. Food beautifully prepared. Always busy for a good reason - it's a nice place to have dinner."

  • "Only two tables available at 7:30, one by the front door behind the maitre d' computer station, and one in the far back next to a service bar with carts piled high with dirty dishes. We sat at #2. I ordered six oysters to start. Still no oysters after thirty minutes. I finally asked where the food was when I got the waiter's attention. He said, "It takes a while to get the oysters open." I said, "But you're an Oyster Bar!!" When we left, two people were sitting by the front door behind the maitre d' service station. They didn't look happy."

  • "ROB has a great happy hour on appetizers and certain drinks, which my friends and I took advantage of, it's also a great place to people-watch and be seen. Because it's in teh financial district, you'll see a lot of young execs come through providing a nice dating scene for single people. At the same time, it's a nice neighborhood place to grab a bite to eat with your friends for happy hour, girls nite, or a romantic dinner for two. :)"

  • "I just finished 5 months of chemo and surgery for breast cancer, and while we dined there regularly during treatment, the first thing i did was to get permission from my oncologist to eat raw oysters so that i could go sit in the bar and devour some chathams and blue points at my favorite restaurant, The River Oyster Bar. Of course, i had to have the incredible gnocchi with blue crab and truffle oil too. I love the feel of the place, which is largely created by the longstanding employees of the restaurant, who care about providing great service with professionalism and friendliness. It is an unusual find, They and The River are awesome."

  • "I love the warm feeling here, but would not return on a weekend night. We were 4 people and could not hear each speak because of the noise level. We continue to go there because of the delicious food. Tuna tartare. Kale salad. Many different fish dishes (all delish) Very friendly service..."

  • "River Oyster Bar is one of our favorite restaurants. Fabulous oysters! We also love the crab cakes, spare ribs, whole fish, and ciapino. We'd prefer a little less noise, but, hey, you can't have everything."

  • "Great local restaurant. All the food is super fresh and delicious. Fish and seafood is definitely their specialty, but everything we saw come out of the kitchen liked amazing. The gnocchi with blue crab and truffles was rich and luscious. The blackened redfish was cooked perfectly. And of course the oysters were great at $1.50 for Happy Hour."

  • "The River Oyster Bar is one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. The Oysters are always fresh and the food is outstanding. Try the STEAMED MUSSELS with coconut milk, lemongrass, chiles, lime, basil. Simply amazing!"

  • "The food was creative and delicious. I had the crab cakes benedict, which was far lighter than a typical eggs benedict--just the right amount of sauce. The fire-roasted oysters were fabulous. My "Dark & Stormy" made with housemade ginger beer was terrific. The service went above and beyond the call. They're going to move to a new location within a year because of construction in the area, but it's worth tracking them down! One of the best meals I had in Miami."

  • "Checked the online lunch menu before making a reservation and was disappointed to learn upon arrival that on Sunday the only option was the Brunch menu. My guests were not disappointed and enjoyed the eggs benidict that was served over crab cakes instead of english muffins they raved about. Great service and they hooked us up with a birthday dessert to include a candle (chocolate mousse cake was excellent)."

  • "I've lived in Miami now for four years, dining out 2-3 times per week, and the River Oyster Bar continues to be a consistent favorite. The bar scene is social, fun and friendly, filled with mostly professionals and everyday people with a great story to tell. The dinner scene is equally enjoyable. The ambience works as either a romantic night out or a night with friends and family. Vibrant scene, but not loud which makes for enjoyable conversation with great food. Food - Consistently impressive. The menu may vary from month to month, which makes a return visit even more enticing. Excellent oyster selection as well as an impressive selection of fresh, healthy seafood and meat courses. And the deserts are fantastic!"

  • "My family really enjoyed all the oysters types they have, fresh and great flavor. The Cioppino was fantastic, the gnocchi outstanding and the clam pasta was delicious!"

  • "Looked promising on arrival.Extremely poorly organized. The hostess was clueless and made us wait 1 hour with reservations and empty tables. Poorly trained staff and lengthy service . Very expensive and mediocre food."

  • "Had lunch here a while ago and they oysters were great. The selection was great. If you like oysters I would recommend lunch at the bar, order oysters to your heart's delight and enjoy a great experience. Went for dinner and the experience was not the same. Very noisy and busy bar, maybe three deep, waiters having to raise their trays above the mob, and the service understandably was spotty at best. Had great oysters at our table. But the main meal was particularly unspectacular, ordinary actually. Chinese yellowtail, fried, was barely fried, and pretty tasteless in a miso sauce. I had the hazelnut crusted covina and it was ordinary. Not worth the trip for sure. I'd go back, for lunch and order the oysters at the bar. Thats a safe bet."

  • "River Oyster Grill is a gem. The Oyster and Happy Hour Specials are an outstanding value. We went through four dozen Oysters before settling down to next courses. Our wait person was warm and friendly' and we were never rushed on to the next course. The appetizers were fabulous, and the Blackened Tuna Sashimi was a real treat. We will certainly return."

  • "I had been wanting to try this restaurant for lunch as I was already impressed with the food and atmosphere for dinner. They have a great 3-course lunch menu that is affordably priced and fit for foodies. It includes a starter, entree, and dessert. I highly recommend ordering their oysters. I tried the baked oysters and they were fabulous. While they offer steak and other entree items, I recommend you order one of their seafood dishes. The main entree dishes offered are generous in portion. The atmoshphere during lunch time is made up of a business crowd. I look forward to coming back and showing off this local neighborhood restaurant to my out-of-town business partners."

  • "My fiance and I were in Miami for only 3 days and came here on our first night out. The restaurant was very lively and loud, but not too loud. We started with the blueberry cocktail, which was amazing. We ordered the tune tartare appetizer which came with plantain chips, and it was SO good. I ordered the salmon and my fiance got the gnocci with blue crab. Both dishes were wonderful. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was super busy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and would love to come back if we're ever back in Miami!"
