The staff were knowledgeable, gracious and helpful. A friend and I were celebrating our 65th birthdays and we were started off with complimentary champagne of the finest quality. From artisanal cheeses and fois gras to perfectly cooked sea scallops with crispy morels, and a delicious Grand Marnier souffle, the entire dinner was executed to perfection. With delicious coffee we were served a plate of chocolates with a note written in chocolate wishing us happy birthday and of course two bright candles. The wait staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and its pairings. They give more than the impression that they have read the script from the chef, they are conversant as to why it is a good pairing. Not just the wine list but the name sake SALT. Yes, there is a recommended SALT pairing.
It was our 27th anniversary and a perfect setting for the occasion. Warm, intimate, un-rushed. The wait staff was attentive without being bothersome or that they need to turn over the table for the next tip.

That being said, however, one does expect not only excellent,well prepared food, but at least an adequate portion so that one is not tempted to stop for food on the way home. The food really was great, the appetizer was amazing as was the souffle. For a main course, I ordered the halibut. It arrived on a large plate, and was a tiny portion located in the middle. I almost laughed out loud! I have never been served a portion so small in my life.
It is the Ritz and it was nice and it was expensive. I expected that. It'sThe food was fantastic! It's called "Salt" because of the 36 different types of salt they have. Based on your selections, the server will bring over select salts that would compliment your food. The salts are not run of the mill salt. They combine flavor and texture with other flavors infused. I recommend that you try the salt by itself and then try it with the food.
Everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the Hawaiian Blue Marlin as an appetizer...Spectacular!
The service was incredible. We had Matt as the head server and Brandon as the assistant. They catered to our every whim. Overall, a wonderful experience. First two dishes were fish ... wines perfectly paired .. especially the Chardonnay with the scallops ...
The pork dish was first class ... however the Spanish wine was far too heavy for my taste to go with the subtle flavor of the food ... heavy on tanins and must have been up there at 14.5% alcohol ... I would suggest a light Pinot Noir or even a small Bordeaux - Paulliac? ...
Dessert was superb and a very nice dessert wine ...

The staff was beyond attentive. Our waitress described everything and offered wonderful suggestions. The food was Amazing both visually and tasteful. Every dish we had, was nothing short of pure perfection. Even the bread options were perfect. They had a large wine selection. I haven't been treated that well at a restaurant since I moved to Jacksonville. It was an evening we will remember well and we will be back for our next special occasion. Definitely try the soufflé. The whole experience was so amazing. The service is impeccable, the maitre' d is wonderful, chef Rick is incrediblely talented. Our food was over the top some of the best we have ever had, and to top the whole evening off, the maitre' d brought us a little gift to take home for our baby once she is born. Talk about attention to detail! My husband and I are both in the restaurant industry and now a days very one has a voiced opinion, I am one to normally just say a few short words on a great experience and call it a day, but I cannot help but praise the staff! We had the chef's tasting menu with wine selections. The crab appetizer was fantastic, the fish course snapper filet in a delious cowder was also great, and the lamb filet superb. The cheese and chocolate soffle's were each also delicious. The wines paired nicely with the courses and the pours were generous. The freash breads and specialty salts were also tasty. Last time we visited we had a high full romantic moon. This year there was no moon but we enjoyed the ocean view and reflected sunset.
