  • "Food was good, but I was expecting more. My husband got the Wagyu rib eye and it was outstanding. I got the seafood pasta and it was mediocre. Very little seafood, lots of mushrooms, sauce and pasta for $46. Should have been around $18 for what it was. We got the shrimp appetizer. Unimpressive. You taste the grits, goat cheese, and breading, but they overpower the shrimp. Restaurant was very loud and had lots of kids, so hard to say it is romantic. Service is great when you start off, but quickly dwindles over time. Hard to find your waiter if you need anything. Kitchen staff brought out food only to discover we were out of wine and no one could find the waiter."

  • "The restaurant is housed in the Ritz Carlton on the southern side of Amelia Island. Upon pulling up to the front of the hotel we were greeted immediately by the valet and directed to the restaurant on the backside of the hotel. Once we reached the restaurant, we were a little early for our reservation but was able to be seated before the actual reservation time. We decided on the chef's menu where it included 4 courses and they were determined by the chef. The menu was amazing and we were so glad we decided to select that option. From the first dish to the last, we had a very memorable experience and would highly, HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "Chefs adventure tasting menu (blind tasting) was fantastic! and plenty of food! Delightful! Service was excellent."

  • "Perfectly good meal. But def not 'best meal of my life' as indicated by others. Service was slow and clumsy. (Our reservation was not until 830 pm and the dining room was only fairly busy). The halibut was nice. The soufflé was (dark chic) was pretty amazing and a hit even with the non dessert diner at our table. However, candidly, for the dollars. I've eaten in much better places with a less 'corporate' vibe. But an all around good experience. We just expected amazing based on all of the reviews and referrals from friends."

  • "Not only was the food AMAZING (please try the prawn appetizer - it's to die for), but the service was PERFECT. Even though we sat at the bar, our server Marci was MORE than attentive. She made excellent food recommendations as well as wine pairings and I was never confused as to what I was eating. She's an asset to your company and she was able to perfectly balance her busy bar area while still making us feel special and we were never left searching for her."

  • "We were dining with our teenage dauggter and her friend. Myself and my husband had the Chef's adventure tasting menu. Every dish was fantastic. My daughter is a picky eater, they sccomodated her special requests and she has not stopped raving about her meal. Everyone had a great time. The service was attentive, but not overly intrusive. I highly reccommend!"

  • "We splurged and sat at the Chef's table which is situated in a private room in the kitchen. There is a large glass window that allows you to overlook the Chefs' stations. This is a prix fixe tasting menu with a wine pairing option. The portions are generous, so pace yourself. This memorable experience not only allowed us to watch the Chefs while they cooked but to walk around between courses and talk with them as well. The kitchen staff was friendly and happy to answer all our questions. Most of the courses were delivered by either the Chef who prepared them( or a sous Chef) along with a description of the course. Every course was delicious! David, our waiter, was knowledgeable and very helpful."

  • "My husband and I have dined at Salt on a number of occasions, and it is consistently wonderful. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and helped make our evening special. I have been a vegetarian for decades (my husband is not) and my vegetarian dinner was truly one of the best meals I've ever had. My husband had a fish dish which he enjoyed very much, as well. The only downside of our evening was that we were seated in the area often used as a private dining room. We could hear only a bit of the live music available, and the restaurant also had recorded music playing through the speakers. The combination wasn't great. Even with this issue, we had a lovely evening and we will definitely be back."

  • "Salt truly is a gem that must be experienced. From the service to the food.....absolutely worth every dollar. You will not be disappointed."

  • "Server asked us to consider ordering souffle when we ordered our meals since it takes some time, so after asking him some questions about the choices, we did order the Gran Marnier souffle. After the meal, he asked us if we wanted dessert and acted like he "misunderstood" us when we told him we had already ordered the souffle. Obviously, he forgot to put in the order and tried to chalk it up to a misunderstanding. It was late and we were tired, so we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for dessert. He was not very apologetic about it and didn't offer to make it up to us in another way with a different dessert. It was a rather disappointing end to an otherwise good meal."

  • "Restaurant was beautiful and had a nice romantic feel. Service was top notch and very helpful with selections. Loved all the extra touches here...the samples from the chef, the multiple salt selections, the closing meal candies, and of course the caramels and goody bag. The food was great. Presentation was amazing. My husbands steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. My fish was delicious, flaky, and not overcooked. My only negative...and this is not on the restaurant...is that I found out I don't really like dessert soufflé. But other than that...we loved our meal and dining experience. Would definitely recommend this restaurant...especially for special occasions."

  • "that describes the food as well as the service...the creativity of the kitchen amazed with each dish...the flavors were vibrant...add to that a window table watching the full moon rise and it made for a wonderful evening...not inexpensive however the experience is absolutely worth it!!!"

  • "I dropped a decent sum on dinner here but it was worth every penny. The waitress was informative and attentive. The chef split our appetizer for us which was incredible and the soufflé for dessert was fantastic. The little extras made the experience that much more. I recommend a special occasion like an anniversary as it is very expensive but worth a try"

  • "As usual our stay at the Ritz was amazing. Excellent service and accommodations. I was looking for a nice restaurant to take my wife and found Salt. The staff at Salt were amazing. From the second we walked in each of the staff were wishing us Happy Anniversary. They gave us complimentary champagne, chocolates and samples of the different salts we tried during dinner. The food was amazing and the plating was beautiful."

  • "We were first time guests celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary (recommendations for Salt, the Grill came by word of mouth). We decided not to order from the menu but did the Chef's choice, and were wowed by the appetizer, two entrees, and dessert selections. On top of that the hostess asked if we were celebrating something special when we checked in, so as a final touch to a fabulous evening, the Chef sent out a plate, with "Happy 25th Anniversary" drizzled in chocolate, with a few more little sweet treats, 2 glasses of a rose champaigne, and two little gift salts that I had mentioned when the appetizers were served, what a very personal touch to a very special evening. Truly, truly a fine dining experience!"

  • "Celebrated anniversary, definitely returning. Per the name Salt, beautifully infused salts are served at the table to complement every course. Started with gruyere cheese roll sprinkled it with apple wood salt. Chef's Adventure Menu was superb. Menu started with tuna appetizer with mandarin orange wedges and hearts of palm over raisin spread. Elk shank was perfect medium rare over a cranberry glaze and corn/barley hash, Hawaiian salt enhanced nicely. Tile fish had buttery texture, moist and flaky over greens. Dessert was a Grand Marnier soufflé with a dollop of citrus ice cream that was herb infused. All staff were genuine and treated us to champagne and handmade truffles. Wine pairings were perfect. Patty was a fantastic server."

  • "Celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. Service and food were both exceptional. The only glitch was some very loud people at a couple of tables near us....but that certainly did not prevent us from having a wonderful evening. This is our fourth or fifth anniversary celebrated at SALT and we will, in all probability, be back again."

  • "My wife and I were married at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island 15 years ago and celebrated our anniversary there. They did an outstanding job. We were greeted with Champagne flutes and then had seared Marlin. We special ordered a dish that the Chef created which was Chateaubriand. He brilliantly cooked the dish and then served it on a hot salt brick where we able to sear the meat and absorb some of the flavoring. It was outstanding. To cap off the evening, the Ritz Carlton re-created our wedding cake (a mini version) for desert. If you are looking for a great restaurant with attention to every detail, Salt is it. We thank them a terrific evening and look forward to sharing other special occasions with them as well."

  • "Located at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island, FL this establishment is absolutely magical. Beautiful dining room overlooking the ocean with service second–to-none. The menu is small, but every dish is a piece of culinary art. Very good for beef and veal dishes, as well as some creative seafood dishes. Great dessert offerings as well. Perfect for any special occasion. This restaurant is not really kid friendly, but give it a shot. I have dined here four times in the last year and will return again."

  • "We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday here. The food, especially the trademark salts, was a hit with the whole party, and the wine was excellent. Mom had the Tasmanian trout, my husband had steak and a grilled romaine salad, and I had the diver scallop and only wished I could have slurped the broth (not with Mom watching!). The highlight of the evening was a presentation to Mom at the very end: house-made truffles, macaroons and caramels on a plate with a lit candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate. Superb!"
