  • "My friends and I looked for somewhere special to take one of us for a birthday. What a great idea Wente turned out to be! The setting is beautiful, the weather was perfect for sitting outside. The staff was friendly and solicitous, in the just right amount way. The food was amazing. We split things and they accommodated with all our requests. We sats for quite a long time and never felt rushed. Several of us had the polenta with greens and was it fantastic. The best dessert of all was the parsnip cake!"

  • "Brought friends there from out of town for a lunch on Saturday. As is typical, the food, service and overall experience was simply wonderful. The outdoor patio dining was especially nice given the beautiful weather, but the grounds and views always make this a great destination. Be back soon."

  • "I do love Wente, but the food was not up to par this time. The lamb appetizer and caesar salads were good, but the steaks and fish as well as the desserts were lacking. The steaks were cooked nicely, but they were tough and tasteless. We had the New York strip and rib eye. I wish they would put their tenderlion back on the menu. For dessert we had the cheesecake and cream brûlée (I think that's what it was), but they were also tasteless. Also, we were celebration two birthdays and neither were comped. The BEST part of the evening was our waiter, Daniel!! Wente's waitstaff are usually too formal (read boring here), but Daniel was awesome. He was friendly, attentive and make our evening."

Foodies both, I wanted to take them somewhere new for them, but, also where I knew food and service would be no worries. Success! We had a lovely meal, and wonderful service which started with a fun exchange over the choice of wine. Jose's recommendation was from one of the couple's favorite winemakers and complimented our meals. The friendly staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive and the food certainly did not disappoint."

Our entrees were tasty, but the desserts were bland. Nothing to write home about. I also didn't care for the herbed bread rolls as an appetizer. I think they had Rosemary on them and I would have preferred plain bread."

  • "My husband took me here for my Birthday! We did the wine barrel tasting in Livermore during the day and made this our last stop! Such a great atmosphere! All of the food they prepare comes from their garden. We are definitely coming back soon!! We had the lamb pastrami for our starter. Delicious!!! For my main course I had the smoked stone valley farm pork chop which was amazing!! The service was excellent here!! It was a Birthday I will not forget!"

  • "The building, grounds and restaurant are quite pretty. Was here for brunch at the beginning of spring, so all the flowers had started to bloom. The menu was all typical items, nothing really all that special. The food: fairly underwhelming. Pretty basic items with basic flavors at slightly over-priced prices. I would not recommend a "foodie" to eat here. Paying for the pretty view and somewhat unique location, I suppose. Better for a glass of wine and maybe some cheese and crackers. Service was good and they're definitely trying to be a "fancy" restaurant with good service etiquette. Just needs a chef with a bit more creativity."

Our entrees were the highlight of our meal, the New York strip steak and the schnitzel. There was also a great 50% off deal on wine! But the first courses left something to be desired. My husband had the asparagus soup, which was too watery in both our opinions. Despite this we had another wonderful night out at Wente!"

We decided to dine here for the first time, due to high recommendations & ratings. We decided that this restaurant, being adjacent to the golf course would be ideal for dinner. We wanted to avoid travel time to other restaurants in the area. The food is excellent, as I ordered their specialty, the pork chop. Their appetizers, salads & of course their wine is also very good. Just a great way to end the day."

  • "Great restaurant to go after around of golf, especially if you decide to dine outside on their patio. They have a nice selection from fish to steaks, along with a great list of wines. We had the fish (grouper) along with a couple of bottles of the Starmont Chardonnay. They are running a special this month, selected bottles of wine are 50% off with dinner."

  • "My husband and I had a nice time celebrating Valentine's day with brunch. He had the pancakes which were very tasty, and I had the sausage and biscuits which was very filling. The requested window seating was lovely, despite being close to the doorway. We were not in the main dining hall, instead were in one of the back rooms so it wasn't as noisy despite having 2 big families in it. It was a nice change of pace since we dine at Wente quite often."

  • "My husband and I were taking our daughter and her husband to Wente to celebrate. They called me earlier in the day to confirm my reservation and that is when I told them about our daughter's birthday. We arrived 20 minutes early after a few hours of wine tasting. The dining room was empty so we weren't sure if they had opened but they did seat us. More diners arrived but the waiter did not forget us. For our entrees, our son in law said his pork chop was very good while the rest of us had the New York steak, another good choice. Of course we needed to end the meal with dessert. Wente is a great way to end a day of wine tasting, and celebrating a special occasion."

  • "We had a lovely group dinner for 13 and it was perfect from start to finish. The service, the wine, the food = spectacular. We started with appetizers of risotto "balls", lamb pastrami, pork and liver pâté, and artisanal cheeses. Beautiful! Entrees at our table ranged from ravioli to swordfish to filet. All perfectly prepared, beautifully presented and absolutely delectable. We shared a variety of delicious desserts including chocolate cheesecake, salted caramel brûlée, milk chocolate ganache tart and the citrus napoleon. Wines were fantastic, of course. Sherrie, our server, was stunning. She and her supportive staff took very good care of us. An evening to remember! I highly recommend it, as would all of my teammates."
