A word from The Restaurant at The Setai
It is the vision of the open kitchen to showcase a menu which is inspired by different cuisines which fall under the umbrella of the “Cuisine De Soleil” or the Sun Coast of Europe. The menu is based on regional Mediterranean specialties, which range from Spain to the Cote D’Azur, to certain regions in Italy such as Tuscany, Puglia and Sicily. In addition, classics dishes from different Mediterranean countries will be represented as well. The Concept, called “Mediterranean Fusion” onwards, will be descriptive of the ingredients utilized, as well as the cooking technique implemented to execute the idea.
The cooking techniques will be implemented by a “Plancha”, equivalent to a Griddle, in order to fortify and extract the versatility of flavors and aromas of the aforementioned regional ingredients to their fullest potential. The utilization of a “Plancha” is a very Mediterranean method, popularized by most countries of that region.

Great decor and 5 star service but food a disappointment... Compared to other 5 star restaurants in town the food is average. THE RESTAURANT at Setai needs to pull up its standards to compete with Daniel Boulud and others who prepare similar cuisine. The decor is always great and the DJ good with excellect service.

The staff at the hotel and restaurant were very nice and helpful with the menu. They didn't have a couple Miami Spice cocktails which was annoying since they sounded so amazing. The Miami Spice menu had surcharges on some of the items, which defeats the point of Miami Spice since its suppose to be a deal not the same price as the regular menu. Overall the food is good but for the price I prefer Milo's down the street.

All courses were served in wide mouth dishes with a small bowl area. Therefore all course were SUPER SMALL. The piece of cod was 2 by 1 inches over an assorment of beans and this was the entree! Go figure if a Miami Spice meal is really worth it whne you have to go out for more food after a meal at the Setai.

I am completely puzzled why this restaurant participates in Miami Spice. I went with a number of friends so we could try the whole dinner menu. The dishes were uneven and the portions were laughingly small (even at twice the size we would have been hungry!) so we ate lots of bread which was generously refilled! The wine was expensive. The waiters disappeared and even after we asked for help, continued to busy themselves with other activities. As a last issue, even though neither the restaurant nor the hotel seemed busy it took more than 20 minutes to retrieve our car from the valet. We don't plan on returning anytime soon.

The food portions in the miami spice are too small, barely any food! Also the service fee was already included 20% and the service wasnt that great! I wouldnt recommend this restaurant at all! We were a group of 4 people and with the miami spice menu the bill ended up being almost $400, too expensive for the amount of food they serve which was barely any food!

I do realize it is a challenge for such high end restaurant to offer a menu at $ 39 but it is not serious to join the program and disappoint clients with "sample" portions. Great quality but sufficient only if you already had dinner. The service was absolutely poor: the waiter (not fully fluent in English) was inattentive and intrusive at the same time: trying to be facetious and taking confidence, but inefficient, slow and careless. We had to wait 40 minutes for our bottle of wine (the food was already served) and eventually he told us that the ordered wine was out of stock. No manager nor supervisor in the hall. We have been regular clients for at least five years, but returning after few months we have noted a disappointing decline

The food was great and the service was perfect...unfortunately for my date and I, we sat near a window overlooking Collins and about 10 minutes after we sat down it started to smell like garbage ...we knew that the smell was coming from outside the restaurant and they didn't seem surprised ...we moved to a different table and had a beautiful time...the drink were insanely expensive however i think that I was charged over 100$ for 4 vodka martinis and a bottle of sparkling water

What can you say about a restaurant that pulls out all stops? Everything was perfect. We wanted a quiet place (hard to find in South Beach) for a celebration and The Restaurant at Setai was the answer. We had a table by the open cooking area - a nice table for two. The menu was varied and imaginative. Really, we couldn't have asked for anything nicer. The service was outstanding. Attentive but not intrusive. And he knew his menu well.

The Restaurant at the Setai has one of the best brunches in Miami! It's on the higher $ end but very worth it. Perfect for special occasions. Choose from multiple food stations, including seafood, breakfast, cheese, salad etc. Disappointed that they toned down the Indian and Thai food station. It was the best, no more fresh naan....no naan at all. But enjoy unlimited servings of food and champagne, mimosas and bloody Mary's. Enjoy the live jazz band in the courtyard, a perfect setting. A must brunch experience, especially for a perfect occasion.

This has been an outstanding experience. The food is exceptional especially the beef Tagore and the lamb chops. They dripped with flavor and the meat was so tender you hardly had to chew it. The starters were good. I loved the beef carpaccio but my friend wasn't crazy about the salmon with caviar and creme fraiche. The shrimps starter was also full of flavor but maybe it would've tasted better if not fried but sautéed. Now the slamdown was dessert! The chocolate soufflé and apple tart were just simply the best and unlike any I have had in the hundreds of restaurants I had experienced worldwide.
