  • "My second time there. 1st time was for dinner. This time was for brunch. Presentation of Prime Rib hash could've been much better. The shrimp bread budding was an interesting concept. Both dishes were warm, not hot. Beignets were kind of hard and too much powdered sugar. Prefer the beignets at Brasserie in the CWE. Our server was very attentive. Love the ambiance. I would go back for dinner, but not brunch. "

  • "I booked easter brunch on open table and the site didn't say anything about needing to specify a reservation upstairs to do the easter buffet, instead we were downstairs with a brunch menu. The Restaurant tried to accomodate us upstairs but there was going to be at least 1 hour wait, so we sat downstairs. The manager could see I was disappointed so he brought over 3 appetizers, which was nice. Overall the food was good but for 12.00 for pancakes you think bacon or sausage would be included. My stepfathers hamburger was good but didn't have much meat. i would like to try it again for dinner. "

  • "Overall our dining experience was very good and I would come again. We came for brunch. In our party of four some said there was a bit too much salt. The spinich was liked by all. The poached eggs on my salmon dish were cooked a bit hard. Still, very good. The hot rolls in a bowl with jam was very good. Could use a few more vegatarian items on the menu. Great decour and excellent service!"

  • "This was our 2nd dining experience at The Restaurant, and it did not disappoint. Great food, great service, great ambience. My wife and I had the tasting menu & it was spectacular! They have a wonderful, unique cocktail selection & wine selection. It is obvious the chef know & loves food. The only minor issue we had was the beef brisket was dry, but they corrected it to our satisfaction. The chef even sent us an extra, special-made dessert to end the meal. Awesome experience; highly recommended!"

  • "I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant! The candles gave a very intimate feel and it was comfortable. It was obvious that the menu was prepared with careful consideration of flavor and pairing. Each plate not only was cooked to perfection, but the presentation was beautiful. Both the colors and taste of each dish were complimentary to each other, and I've never had better salmon nor strip steak. it was well worth the drive for me!"

  • "The first time at Cheshire was in the early 70's where prime rib was a speciality A 3/4 " blacken piece of beef would not have been tolerated to serve. Back to Kries's where beef is treated with class. Wait staff can wear jeans customers smart casual?"

We of course ordered even more and all had the tasting menus, which are by far my favorite! Everything was absolutely perfect! Can't wait to come back again! Everything was wonderful!"

  • "Our foody group chose The Restaurant at the Chase primarily because of the tasting menus. We each chose a different tasting menu (and paired wine flights), or chose different options on the same tasting menu, and then shared with one another. The portions were quite generous, especially for a "tasting". We also had to order the duck, which was divine! There were 6 very happy customers by the end of the night. Will we go back? Absolutely!"

  • "The Restaurant was a little expensive, but it was worth the money. My husband had the prime rib and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. I shared the tasting meal choice with him, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the butcher's block appetizer, the cedar plank salmon and the short ribs were phenomenal, and we enjoyed the goat cheese cheesecake. The wine selections complemented the meal extremely well. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant, as well as the rest of the staff. It was a wonderful evening."

  • "Very rarely have I been to a restaurant that hits on all points. The atmosphere was great, the wine selection had plenty to offer and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu selections and assisted with recommendations and discriptions of menu items. If you can't make up your mind there are creative tasting menus as well. The Seafood was amazing! Very fresh Tuna and Salmon appetizers. I had the Halibut for my entree and this was prepared perfectly over some phenomenal chedder grits. The rest of my party had meat selections that were the best in town. We all were stealing tastes from the other's entrees, declaring each better than the last. The Restaurant is a MUST when in St. Louis!!!"

My in-laws dined at the Cheshire in their youth and have great memories, and it's still as charming and memorable today.   • "This place was hit and miss. The cocktails were good and inventive. The crispy pork belly small plate was outstanding. Then our other two small plates were salty and boring. We had the smoked salmon plate and I must say it wasn't very good salmon and the accompaniment was lackluster. The hunters plate of three cold meats was a bland terrine of pork, overly salted primerib slices (from last night?), and some decent salami. We shared a prime rib and it too was pretty average. I prefer some bark on a good thick layer of fat and meat on a prime rib and this looked to have been heavily trimmed. I've loved the bar for a couple of years now and Basso's downstairs is great. For the price ($160 for two) it was definitely not worth it"

  • "We enjoyed one of our best nights ever dining at the Restaurant at the Cheshire. I highly recommend the crispy smoked pork belly with white cheddar grits as a small plate. We had it as an appetizer and would have enjoyed it as a main course. We shared lobster tails as the main course and, with the accompanying asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes, the meal was outstanding. The chef prepared a dessert sampler for us and the cheese cake, mousse, and chocolate gooey butter cake rounded out an evening that we will long remember. The only thing better than the food was the friendliness and attention of the wait staff. We came home feeling like we had just spent an evening with family. Thank you Chef Rex and Manager Drew. We will be back!"

  • "The food was pretty good. Scallops were the only main issue. Had a mild sear on one side and none on the other. The only item that was strange was since this was our first trip I checked online and found the dress code was smart casual. Had to look this one up online and found no jeans so I changed cloths. Once there, every server had on jeans. Very strange"

Atmosphere nice, a little loud, and bright but overall nice. Once aware we were not overly impressed the entire staff wanted to correct. Offering everything from drinks, desserts, etc. They delivered a great macaroni and cheese ( a must have). Just OK"

  • "This was our first time visiting the Cheshire. It was bad weather outside and we entered through the wrong door. The guy at the Market told us to go outside and go around. The Chef of the Cheshire was there and he told us to follow him and he took through the Market and into the Restaurant. It was just the start of very good service. I had the prime rib and my wife had the filet. Everything tasted great and the wine menu was awesome. A lot of the places we visited in Napa were on the wine menu. We cannot wait for our next trip."

  • "The waitress was friendly but started talking about the menu before offering our guests a drinks. They had to ask to see the drink menu. Because we had our drinks from the bar she made an assumption about the drinks. The presentation of the food was good. Getting the food was slow. The bread was not delivered with our salads and when it arrived the inside of each piece was frozen. We were told they would bring us more and we never received any. My prime rib was very tough. The Yorkshire Pudding was overcooked, burnt on the bottom and was difficult to cut. The apple crisp dessert was lacking in flavor. This was our second visit within a month."
