A contemporary style, paired with Certified Naturally Grown and organic produce, organic and/or wild meats and sustainable seafood, provide an exceptional dining experience.   • "everything outstanding. stilton funnel cakes were nice as always, cabbage crackers with aioli were very nice and creative take on a favorite. Awesome salad with a violet mustard vinaigrette, nice balance with the bitter greens, charcuterie plate was very good, rosemary jelly was so good I took some home. Head cheese nicely done. Pork belly was meltingly tender though could have used a touch more salt. Best swordfish I ever had in my life, so juicy almost like eating a juicy pork chop, smokiness also lent that meaty character. farro risotto was delicious, just wish it was a little warmer. Grits were awesome, though a tad rich, spring garlic cloves were a nice. whipped chocolate better than last time, zeppoles were great, macarons- the best"

  • "Everything about the Restaurant at Patowmack Farm was amazing. I had let them know ahead of time that it was our anniversary and that we were vegetarian and we received a set menu full of unique dishes that were completely vegetarian coupled with what felt like the best seat in the house. For the first time, my husband and I could eat every course on the menu! Add in the amazing view, and this was by far the most perfect evening we have had since coming to Virginia. We both commented that it reminded us of our days in Europe eating on terraces and trying gourmet eateries and drinking wine! It was simply amazing."

  • "I wanted to take my girlfriend to a romantic restaurant along the Potomac River before she went home to Colombia for 6 weeks. I had former colleagues who spoke highly of Patowmack Farm for brunch and special occasions, so I thought I'd give it a try, as opposed to something in Georgetown, Old Town or National Harbor. Really, I can't say enough about what a special evening it was! They gave us a nice table with a great view of Point of Rocks. The staff was classy and professional. She chose the "raised" menu of turf-inspired dishes, so I chose the "caught" menu of surf-inspired dishes, and of course we sampled each others courses. I was afraid it'd be elf food portions, but by the end, we were both stuffed. Fantastic evening!"

The greenhouse dining area overlooking the river was spectacular. The greeting and service was attentive and professional but not intrusive. The menu and its execution was innovative and well executed. An elegant farm to table experience. The chef is deserving of his 2014 James Beard nomination."

  • "Well we headed out without much info about the restaurant. Wow many of the ingredients I had never heard of. I was a caterer for 15 years. It was quite an experience. The portions are very small. Everything was delicious though. It is a special place. I went in winter but will return in the spring/summer for the view."

  • "Must have: puffed beef tendon and stilton funnel cakes. Celeriac soup was great, smoked stilton lifted the whole dish. Beef tartare was nice, but additon of marrow made everything greasy and in need of acid and salt. ragout of conch and mussels was best dish of the night, soup was kept inside a conch shell, tat soi and other veggies were spectacular Skate wing was delicious, nice juicy piece of perfectly cooked skate, the sorrel sauce and components were delightful and well balanced. Beef cheek was very good, could have used some kind of jus or sauce on the cheeks, Pork dish was salty especially cabbage pork was dry. Pine chiffon didn't taste very Piney. Buttermilk meringues were too hard. Best macarons I've had in a restaurant."

  • "Took my dad for his birthday brunch and we loved it! Very unique dishes, and the service was amazing. Everyone wanted to make you feel at home and the view is amazing. I just wish it was sunny that day. The restaurant is very proud of each and every dish created and they want to tell you what you are eating and it's very fun to learn what everything is. Truly an unforgettable experience and you will not find any of the dishes anywhere else."

  • "The dining experience is worth the drive to Lovettsville, Va. The attention to fresh organic foods and careful selection of proteins is quite impressive. All the dishes were good, but the goat shoulder stood out as the best dish of the evening. The wine pairing was a little off on the Grown menu, but spot on with the Raised menu. Dining in a greenhouse was a first for us. The views overlokking Point of Rocks were very nice. Overall we had a very nice dining experience."

  • "The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm sits on a hillside overlooking the Potomac Valley. I visited on a quiet evening when an a la carte menu was featured. I tried the tempura dilly beans, parsnip soup, dogfish (shark) and jasmine rice entrée, and a dessert featuring chia seed crackers, warm cheddar cheese and onion jam. All the dishes were presented well and delicious. The staff was attentive, but not obtrusive. I will definitely return."

  • "This was our second visit to Patowmack and it was, again, amazing. The food is absolutely delectable and you can feel great knowing you are eating organic and local ingredients. Unfortunately they were a little busy (understaffed?) on this visit, which I am usually quite patient about however my husband ordered the wine pairing for his dinner and the wines were not brought out simultaneously with the food. Consequently, we sat with the food in front of us untouched a few times waiting for his paired drinks. The flavors and consistencies of the foods helped make up for it though -- so delicious! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone, just opt for going on a less busy weekend if you are able."

  • "Although we like to go to the Restaurant at Patowmack Farms on special occasions, every visit here is special. This did happen to be a 50th birthday celebration the weekend before Christmas. The atmosphere in the "greenhouse" is always lovely, but Christmas is my favorite time here. The windowsills are lined with special nativity scenes. In addition, a wonderful local guitarist was playing that night. We love all of the updates from the menu to serving pieces. I won't ruin any surprises for anyone. My husband and I both opted for the "Raised" menu and loved every bite! We can't wait to come back!"

We went thinking it would be a nice drive to the country for Thanksgiving lunch at a quaint restaurant, but instead it felt like we were eating in a green house -- not the ambience we expected. The food was okay, but small portions. The bread and homemade butter were good, but it would have been nice to have been offered more since the servings were very small. The wine list is notable because the prices were generally very high. We would not make the trip again and would not recommend it to our friends."

  • "A lovely restaurant during warm months I assume but not on this Nov rainy night. Treking to the outdoor ladies room in the rain - unique but not appropriate for a $$$ restaurant. Attentive waiters who can't remember who get's what at the dinner table.Finally, received the correct check for our table of two, but charged for the dinner ordered by a table of 3. Waiting for the bank to unfreeze the incorrect amount charged to my credit card - this was the last straw. This special occassion restaurant underdelivered in many respects and unfortunately detracted from what may have been a good meal."

  • "The offerings sounded good but were poorly done. I had the turkey which was brined and t was too salty. It was a small four inch by one inch slice of breast meat stuffed with a tablespoons worth of a watery stuffing. It hd a two inch by one half inch slice of dark meat on top. My chestnut soup was good but rich. It was too salty also. The desert came out like a bowl of mush. My husband had the pork shoulder which was just shredded pork with a small side of faro. His was tastier than mine. He had the braised fennel for an appetizer which was soaked in some smokey sweet bacon broth. His desert was very presentable and was better than my panna- cotta. He had the pecan custard. All this for a $235.00 bill."

  • "Take the time to savor and enjoy; and yes, it helps if you are into unusual combinations, mixture of textures and spices, all beautifully displayed. You don't have to be a Foodie to enjoy but it helps; the wait staff was extraordinarily informed and helpful. An all round treat. One caveat would be the distinction between the "grown" and the "raised" menu was a bit too cute; I would trade off one fewer course (it is a long series of delectable samples) for the ability to switch between the two menus. I would suggest sharing the two alternative menus with your dinning partner. They really do honor the field-to-table, organic philosophy."

  • "We did the Sunday brunch at the "farm" on a cool October Day, it was a special experience. We ate in an enclosed "porch" area with open doors. Some were dining outside under cover. We had made reservations but arrived early, and had to settle for a center table, although there were many vacant tables by the windows. There was a music trio playing music, like "Sailing". Some diners wore suits. Great wine selection and the food was well presented and unique. There were a few too many bugs too contend with like bees, lots of bees due to the doors being open. I did feel for those selecting to dine "indoors" would rather not have had to deal with. But the place was BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE. We would return and request a table near the windows."

Although the restaurant was not yet open, we were content to enjoy the tranquility beneath the outdoor dining area. Nevertheless, Beverly, the owner and host, as well as her stellar wait staff, made certain we were treated like royalty and served us while we waited. After being seated for dinner, we were presented with eight delicious courses from the Raised and Grown menus. Chef Tarver King is truly an artist as each plate was a feast for the eyes and palate. We savored every moment and look forward to our next visit to this superb dining establishment."
