  • "Beverly and her restaurant are gems. There is not one negative about dining here."

  • "Amazing food, wine paring, and ambiance all combined for the perfect night out. Our personalized menu was also a nice touch we can use to remember the evening by."

  • "First visit. Had a week end brunch. Three courses, four choices. The menu was so creative and sounded so intriguing we wanted to try everything. Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Tasting from each other's dish was fun. All food is either grown on the farm or locally sourced. The beverage selection was top notch, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialty mixed drinks and an excellent selection of craft beers and wines by the glass. Service was friendly, attentive, and informative with courses perfectly paced. The farm is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating and mountaintop views. The owner, Beverly is an enthusiastic host, offering a personal touch. We plan to return."

  • "If they were anywhere closer to DC or the Beltway- or even Leesburg - I think they would have a 3-month advance reservation list and would need guards in the parking lot. Beverly is a delight and has traIned a delightful front staff. And the new chef has added a more mature flavor to what has always been outstanding food."

  • "The staff was wonderful, attentive and accommodating. They made us feel very special. The food was outstanding, fresh and flavorful! The setting gorgeous. Loved the attention to details. It was a truly memorable experience."

  • "This has changed to a fix prixe menu, which in was a bit pricey for the service and setting. The road up to the restaurant is in desperate need of new gravel, it seems as rutted (or more so) than a year ago. Overall, although the fix prixe limits your choices, the food and preparation was AMAZING. The new chef has changed things for the better."

  • "This is without a doubt one of the most unique places my wife and I have ever dined. The restaurant is situated on the side of a hill looking over the Potomac river. Beautiful scenery... Lovely view! It's LITERALLY in the middle of nowhere. As several other reviewers have mentioned, the menu consists of three, five course meals: Raised, Found, and Grown. Each of the three categories contains dishes prepared from locally grown and raised items. We found ALL of them well prepared and pleasing to the palate. I highly recommend getting the wine pairings as well. We'll DEFINITELY be returning."

  • "We are still talking about this great meal 3 days later. Delicate flavored dishes paired perfectly with interesting local and other wine selections. My dessert was paired with a beer and it went perfectly. Something I would never have done myself. The chef has an amazing talent with pairing foods and flavors that blow your taste buds away! And the setting and view are so serene on a summer evening. We sat outside and were serenaded by cicadas and fireflys. Very romantic. Everything was perfect."

  • "My wife and I drove over a hundred miles from Charlottesville for one of the most memorable evenings of our 32 years of marriage. The view was gorgeous, the wait staff impeccable -- and the food! Absolutely fresh, in unique and imaginative combinations of natural color and flavor, start to finish, served on gorgeous handmade plates. Everything local. "Snacks": Guinea hen liver pate, fried chicken mushrooms. Appetizers: Walla Walla onion with blue crab, canteloupe soup [!]. Entrees: charred brisket, roasted chicken with smoked potato aligot, The desserts!! Goat's milk ice cream with hazelnut oil chiffon, and lemon verbena panna cotta with blackberries. Nothing better than freshness, uniqueness, imagination, and skill. Brilliant!"

  • "My husband and I went here to celebrate a special occasion on Saturday night. We hadn't been here since the restaurant changed chefs last year but were pleased to find the food was as delectable as ever. The change in the menu structure was nice in that you didn't have to make tons of decisions. The decor and place settings had also been refreshed since last we came. The service, as always, was impeccable. We ate outside under the tent and had a gorgeous view of the point of rocks bridge and lots of fireflies as the sun went down. They had soft music playing which was a nice addition to the ambience. We ordered the raise and found meals and the portions were perfect for sharing. Favorite bite = profiterole w/ green tea cream filling"

  • "Outstanding in all respects. Servers know the menu and can explain the complex dishes with ease. Pricey but worth. And the outdoor dining and view one of a kind in this area."

  • "As usual, the ambiance, view, food, and company were over the top awesome. Usually the service is too, but I have to admit that on this occasion the service was only just good, there were a couple gaps. We noted that the tables around us, with different service teams, were getting the quality of service that I have always previously experienced at Patowmack Farm, so it looks like an isolated incident. We were also lucky enough to be there during farm2fork, so the menu was extra fresh and extra delicious. If you go, and it is available, get the chantrelle mushroom appetizer. It is simply amazing."

  • "This is the best restaurant I've ever been to in decades of dining out. The food is incredibly imaginative and inventive. This is a farm to fork restaurant with something for everyone. You can walk around the property and see where the vegetables and herbs and fruits come from. Our server was so patient with all of our questions about the menu and the farm and so knowledgeable. The Camp Ash goat cheese dessert was so fabulous that I just wanted to be left alone in silence with it. Apologies to my dining partner. If you grow any of your own food, you'll be so inspired by this place; you will enjoy it in a whole additional dimension."

  • "One of the best dining experiences in the DC metro area. From the food, to the service to the ambiance. everything is outstanding.."

  • "This was the first experience for my wife and I at the Farm and while we live just a few miles up the road; the view of Virginia meeting Maryland at the union of the Potomac River was breathtaking. One will be as equally impressed by the presentation of each course in addition to the unbelievable ways ones' taste buds are seduced and overcome with astonishing flavor and texture. Crimini Puree, Asparagus Babaganoush, Oyster Parfait , Ham Hock Risotto, Crab Dumplings, Pork Shoulder, Chamomile Sherbert and Pistachio Oil Chiffon were the incredible creations we enjoyed. However, since the menu changes EACH night; one can only guess at what wonderful surprises lay in wait. Just know that whatever is presented will amaze."

  • "We celebrated my birthday with 8 friends and started with cocktails on the gazebo. The view and setting was gorgeous. The food is fantastic especially if you appreciate creativity. The meal presentation and the service was also outstanding. We enjoyed meeting the owner and loved the hometown feel. I highly recommend it and will return soon."

  • "We had an amazing night at Patowmack Farm. Incredible views, the food was really delicious and the service was just the right amount of attentiveness and informational but not in your face the whole night so we could have a really nice romantic night."

  • "Our second time dining at the Pawtomack farm. What a gem just over the border between MD and VA. Everything was excellent from start to finish. We will go again!"

  • "My wife and I travel to The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm every couple months to enjoy a Sunday brunch. We have always had wonderful experiences (over the last few years) and look forward to any excuse to make the journey to Patowmack Farm. Chef Tarver King’s creations are amazing! The unique flavors and fresh farm vegetables and herbs please the palate every time. The views are beautiful whether sitting in the conservatory in the fall/winter or enjoying a meal under the outdoor tent in the spring/summer. This is hands down my favorite restaurant. The owner Beverly and the friendly staff make sure you feel at home."

  • "The food was great. Not what I would eat every day, but not pretentious. The wait staff were fabulous. The views priceless."

  • "The restaurant has an excellent view overlooking the Potomac river at Point of Rocks with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is creative, well prepared, and artistically presented. The staff are very attentive and informative. We chose the pairing option for which a small glass of wine is matched to the plate for each course. Patowmack Farm sources most of the ingredients, and the remainder come from local establishments except the seafood. The owner, Beverly, participates in the daily operation and visits each table - we had a nice conversation about her history with the farm and establishing the restaurant on it. It was an enjoyable and interesting experience."

  • "Exquisite cuisine and very nice wine pairings for this price fixed menu of organic offerings. It was a wonderfully relaxed, nicely paced meal with a talented guitarist playing throughout the evening. They can even made delicious fare out of foods I don't prefer (liver on one course). I was pleasantly surprised how good it was with the light sauce served with it. Kudos to the chef! On request, the staff graciously provided us with the list of the wines that were paired with our meal."

  • "This was easily one of the best meals we have ever eaten."

  • "Food, ambience, service - amazing. This is a fantastic restaurant! It's on a working farm and most everything they serve is either from the farm, local, or regional. Both the mixed drinks and food are creative and beyond tasty. And the menu varies daily! Not cheap, but worth it for a memorable evening."

  • "This was our first visit. We arrived at 12.45 for a 12.30 reservation. Everything was beautifully set up in a very pretty tent overlooking the Potomac. It was hung with flowers and the view from our table was spectacular. The food was some of the best we've had. Locally sourced and beautifully, inventively cooked. I had turkey liver parfait followed by smoked beef loin. Both were spectacular. The portions are exquisitely sized and beautifully presented. The house cocktails are also part of their locavore appeal. Many can be made non-alcoholic. Our children loved the house made ginger soda, and the dish and "chips" on kids menu was by far the most beautifully prepared kids food we've seen. An outstanding experience all round."

  • "This restaurant was a favorite of ours for the last few years. The menu now has totally changed from a la carte to 5 course progression which includes such delicious greens as ramp, nettle beer float plus foreign words to camouflage bacon (guancale) Espuma (foam) etc. You can go gather all these things on your own and not have to pay to have them cooked with pork. Not worth the price or the drive"

  • "We came for the guest chef dinner with Justin Severino from Cure. As always, the kitchen did not disappoint. Every course was wonderful, service was attentive, and the wine pairings were great. We look forward to our next visit!"

  • "Food - Absolutely incredible. The food is very complex and sure to please any foodie. However, even if you don't know what they're talking about it's still very delicious. All the food is grown or raised at the farm or sourced from local sources and you can definitely taste the freshness. The beef medallions were the best beef I've ever eaten, including almost every steak house in DC. Service - The wait staff is super knowledgable about the food. They explain every dish in great detail and literally run to the kitchen to get answers to any questions they don't know. Ambience - The dining area is set in a glass house on top of a mountain, overlooking a bridge that crosses the Potomac river. It's gorgeous. "

  • "If you are looking for a really special dining experience, this is the place. The dining room is full of natural light and the views are spectacular. This is just the backdrop of a really wonderful dining experience. The food is unique outstanding. You will eat things here that you have never had before and never will again, as the menu changes to reflect what's available at and around the farm."

  • "Great place to go for a unique dinner on a very special day. The food was exquisite. "
    Dined on 5/15/2014
  • "The a la carte selections for both meals were great. The dining area and grounds did not meet the expectations for a restaurant rated so highly. Business attire should not be noted as required for this type of dining room. Roof leaked on our table during dinner. I wanted a reservation specifically for 14 May and OpenTable indicated there were no tables available. The waiter said that was not the case. Very irritating."

  • "My husband and I had a wonderful meal with excellent service on 5/11/14. Our only criticisms on an otherwise perfect restaurant were that the wine list could have benefited from additional selections and the servings could have been a bit larger. Since the dishes are creative it would have been nice to have a bit more than was provided, for all three courses. We would highly recommend The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm for all to visit to experience great food in a beautiful location, with a unique country view and highly professional service."

  • "We went to brunch on Mother's Day. We all agreed (even my 20-something-year-old sons) that it was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. "
