The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm presents a venue with a breathtaking view and natural setting overlooking the Potomac River. Our farm to your table presents local, organic, seasonal cuisine. Dining Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening, Saturday or Sunday brunch, Sunday supper, a wedding, rehearsal dinner, corporate or special event – we strive to exceed your dreams. A contemporary style, paired with Certified Naturally Grown and organic produce, organic and/or wild meats and sustainable seafood, provide an exceptional dining experience. Our chef's innovative and skillfully executed dishes follow the lead of nature, being mindful of the environment.

We have always had wonderful experiences (over the last few years) and look forward to any excuse to make the journey to Patowmack Farm. Chef Tarver King’s creations are amazing! The unique flavors and fresh farm vegetables and herbs please the palate every time. The views are beautiful whether sitting in the conservatory in the fall/winter or enjoying a meal under the outdoor tent in the spring/summer. This is hands down my favorite restaurant. The owner Beverly and the friendly staff make sure you feel at home."

  • "The restaurant has an excellent view overlooking the Potomac river at Point of Rocks with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is creative, well prepared, and artistically presented. The staff are very attentive and informative. We chose the pairing option for which a small glass of wine is matched to the plate for each course. Patowmack Farm sources most of the ingredients, and the remainder come from local establishments except the seafood. The owner, Beverly, participates in the daily operation and visits each table - we had a nice conversation about her history with the farm and establishing the restaurant on it. It was an enjoyable and interesting experience."

It was a wonderfully relaxed, nicely paced meal with a talented guitarist playing throughout the evening. They can even made delicious fare out of foods I don't prefer (liver on one course). I was pleasantly surprised how good it was with the light sauce served with it. Kudos to the chef! On request, the staff graciously provided us with the list of the wines that were paired with our meal."

  • "This was our first visit. We arrived at 12.45 for a 12.30 reservation. Everything was beautifully set up in a very pretty tent overlooking the Potomac. It was hung with flowers and the view from our table was spectacular. The food was some of the best we've had. Locally sourced and beautifully, inventively cooked. I had turkey liver parfait followed by smoked beef loin. Both were spectacular. The portions are exquisitely sized and beautifully presented. The house cocktails are also part of their locavore appeal. Many can be made non-alcoholic. Our children loved the house made ginger soda, and the dish and "chips" on kids menu was by far the most beautifully prepared kids food we've seen. An outstanding experience all round."

The menu now has totally changed from a la carte to 5 course progression which includes such delicious greens as ramp, nettle beer float plus foreign words to camouflage bacon (guancale) Espuma (foam) etc. You can go gather all these things on your own and not have to pay to have them cooked with pork. Not worth the price or the drive"

  • "Food - Absolutely incredible. The food is very complex and sure to please any foodie. However, even if you don't know what they're talking about it's still very delicious. All the food is grown or raised at the farm or sourced from local sources and you can definitely taste the freshness. The beef medallions were the best beef I've ever eaten, including almost every steak house in DC. Service - The wait staff is super knowledgable about the food. They explain every dish in great detail and literally run to the kitchen to get answers to any questions they don't know. Ambience - The dining area is set in a glass house on top of a mountain, overlooking a bridge that crosses the Potomac river. It's gorgeous. "

Business attire should not be noted as required for this type of dining room. Roof leaked on our table during dinner. I wanted a reservation specifically for 14 May and OpenTable indicated there were no tables available. The waiter said that was not the case. Very irritating."

Our only criticisms on an otherwise perfect restaurant were that the wine list could have benefited from additional selections and the servings could have been a bit larger. Since the dishes are creative it would have been nice to have a bit more than was provided, for all three courses. We would highly recommend The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm for all to visit to experience great food in a beautiful location, with a unique country view and highly professional service."

  • "Our first visit to this wonderful restaurant since Tarver King took over. We enjoyed his cooking at Ashby Inn and wanted to see him cook under the hyper-fresh, local sourcing philosophy of Patowmack Farm. We were ecstatic over our meals. It was a Friday, so we had choices of three tasting menus. We picked two and I had the wine pairings. All dishes were exquisitely presented and consisted of delectable combinations of ingredients, some of which were surprising and delicious. Since the menu/ingredients change often, there is no point in describing them. I will simply say we had one of the best meals we have ever had. We cannot wait to return. And that is the only downside. For us it is a 90 min. drive (Friday). Saturday next time!"

  • "Patowmack Farm is on a stunning piece of land with gorgeous views. Service was good albeit a little unecessarily snooty for such a quaint place. The real problem is the food is NOT good and the prices are laughable. I ordered a root salad and it had 5 pieces of carrot, about 5 leaves of spinach, and a few onions for about $12. It came in a giant bowl and took up about 1/20th of the bowl. The squid in the gazpacho was rubbery and bland and the soup had zero flavor. The carrot bread was bland and boring. This was a very disappointing meal. The owner was sweet and welcoming, but may I suggest a simpler menu the chef can handle. I'll pay $25 for a lunch entree, but it needs to be darn tasty."

  • "We were a party of 6 to celebrate two birthdays. The restaurant is located up a gravel driveway on a hill overlooking the Potomac River. It is a scenic spot that you want to take advantage of. Ask for a table on the "window" side. If you are there for Sunday brunch the Bloody Mary's are exceptional. If you like spicy order it! The menu welcomed by name the birthday girls. The menu is constantly changing and depends on what is available from the farm and local purveyors. The only thing that is not "local" is the seafood. The choices are complex and fun to hear about as your server describes the choices. I recommend ordering an appetizer, entree, and dessert. It's a special occasion, take your time, enjoy it. I look forward to returning."

  • "We have been dining at Patowmack for about 5 years now. The food and service is always perfect. Presentation of each course is always spectacular and the taste is fresh and clean with each bite. They also respect their farming roots and present the essence of the garden each bite. The location is hilltop with a view of the river and service is usually in a greenhouse next to the garden. We love Patowmack and look forward to many more visits. "

  • "This is a farm to table restaurant. The spectacular view from the dining room is like no other. It is well worth the drive to Lovettsville. Food is amazing. Service is warm and welcoming. They take much pride in the preparation of each meal. It is difficult to recommend a dish because the menu constantly changes based on what is in season and fresh at the time. They take sustainability to a new level. We highly recommend The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm. This is truly a one of a kind gem."

  • "everything outstanding. stilton funnel cakes were nice as always, cabbage crackers with aioli were very nice and creative take on a favorite. Awesome salad with a violet mustard vinaigrette, nice balance with the bitter greens, charcuterie plate was very good, rosemary jelly was so good I took some home. Head cheese nicely done. Pork belly was meltingly tender though could have used a touch more salt. Best swordfish I ever had in my life, so juicy almost like eating a juicy pork chop, smokiness also lent that meaty character. farro risotto was delicious, just wish it was a little warmer. Grits were awesome, though a tad rich, spring garlic cloves were a nice. whipped chocolate better than last time, zeppoles were great, macarons- the best"

I had let them know ahead of time that it was our anniversary and that we were vegetarian and we received a set menu full of unique dishes that were completely vegetarian coupled with what felt like the best seat in the house. For the first time, my husband and I could eat every course on the menu! Add in the amazing view, and this was by far the most perfect evening we have had since coming to Virginia. We both commented that it reminded us of our days in Europe eating on terraces and trying gourmet eateries and drinking wine! It was simply amazing."

I had former colleagues who spoke highly of Patowmack Farm for brunch and special occasions, so I thought I'd give it a try, as opposed to something in Georgetown, Old Town or National Harbor. Really, I can't say enough about what a special evening it was! They gave us a nice table with a great view of Point of Rocks. The staff was classy and professional. She chose the "raised" menu of turf-inspired dishes, so I chose the "caught" menu of surf-inspired dishes, and of course we sampled each others courses. I was afraid it'd be elf food portions, but by the end, we were both stuffed. Fantastic evening!"
