A word from The Remington
Energy. How befitting that in a city anointed its capital there is a restaurant that has captured its glow. The Remington Restaurant presents a dining experience a lot like Houston - decidedly Modern American with a definite dash of Texas. There’s an open range of envelope-pushing dishes which highlight a feast of fresh, locally produced ingredients and an international approach to their preparation.

Busy executives can take advantage of a special lunch menu that adheres to tight schedules without sacrificing culinary excellence. The sun-spackled dining room is open for breakfast and lunch, with evening dining available on Fridays and Saturdays. The dining venue also offers outdoor seating, weather permitting.

The Remington Restaurant has been a recipient of the AAA Four Diamond Restaurant Award since 2002.

Showed up for a 9:00 dinner reservation. no one there to greet us , no one seemed to be working, restaurant did not even seem open. We looked around for someone and waited 10 minutes but no one showed up. Had dinner elsewhere. Did have breakfast there the next morning and the service was better and the food was good.

Not up to snuff for a St Regis, typical hotel food at nasty (high) prices. Average at best, did not have the wine selection we ordered. Combined with a mediocre hotel - not a great experience.

I made a reservation for my friend's birthday on Monday for dinner on Friday, the 21st. On friday, at 5:20 I received a call regarding my 7:00 dinner reservation. Steven called to let me know that the restaurant was booked for a private party that evening and we would be eating in the bar. When I asked the manager why they took my reservation rather than let me know it was not available he said there was a private party and we could eat in the bar! There was no apology, if fact they were clueless as to why we were upset. We did NOT dine at the Remington and went to Cavour at Hotel Granduca instead. It was a beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff. We had a lovely evening!

The Christmas Brunch had a very elegant feel and the food stations were well centralized. I thought it was a smaller display than other hotels but it offered a wide variety. Being a picky eater, I would have enjoyed a live pasta station or even a kids' station with the traditional finger foods. It was an outstanding brunch nonetheless and I left very full and happy.

This restaurant was an excellent lunch choice! Personally I can't wait to go back! While some co-workers and I were there to try The Remington through Houston Restaurant Week, we were happily surprised to find they have a executive lunch menu for close to the same price. What a deal! My only minor complaints: no self parking, and it was a little difficult to find the restaurant. Ultimately, all worth it, and I would do it again today.

We were even able to linger and talk for a good while since a few of us were from out of town and we haven't seen each other for a while. Service was good but never rushed. Dined at the restaurant as a result of the Houston Restaurant week that the Remington was a participant of. The presentation was excellent and delivered at once which included an appetizer, main course and dessert. All bite size perfect for a weekend lunch. What is very appealing is the atmosphere. Although it is located in a busy area next to the Galleria, the restaurant has a very relaxed and calm setting to it and is not noisy like most restaurants in the area. It is a perfect location if you are interested in a late afternoon lunch with a few friends.
