A word from The Red Feather
The Red Feather is a contemporary American farm to table restaurant located in the Oakley neighborhood of greater Cincinnati. We offer an upscale casual dining experience with an emphasis on classic culinary techniques and slow, careful preparations. Enjoy forty wines by the glass, 200+ by the bottle, house made craft cocktails and a comprehensive list of micro-brewed beers. The bar is perfect for an after work drink, meeting friends, sharing a bottle of wine or enjoying one of our innovative bar snacks. Warm woodwork surrounds our three separate dining areas each with its own personality, from cozy and intimate to bright and airy. We also offer an up close and intimate Chefs Table where one can watch the preparation of our food and interact with our Chef/Owners. The Red Feather stands for innovation, rough luxury, and honoring those who worked to bring us the products that we are proud to serve and enjoy.Continued

  • "Love everything about this place! Creative and delicious dishes mindfully served in a cozy yet very "up town" space. Works great for a romantic date night out or a casual Sunday brunch in."

  • "Red Feather is a great addition to Oakley! The food is prepared with care and the quality of the ingredients is impeccable. The sommelier especially contributed to our wonderful date night. He had a lovely personality and his knowledge made you feel taken care of and not pushed into a wine out of your budget."

  • "This place has fantastic cocktails! The food is very good, but the menu is limited, and the portions are small. Overall I really like this place! The staff and service has consistently been fantastic as well!"

  • "Excellent options for small plates or entrees. Wonderful imaginative dishes"

  • "Everyone in the place was attentive and professional. Customer was important to everyone working there. Food was very good but limited and that is why it was good. They focus on providing good preparation and not all things to all people. Third time there and would recommend.to anyone"

  • "Excellent food, the atmosphere was nice and modern but not too trendy. Our server was very friendly and made helpful recommendations. The only minor point was the bathroom- someone maybe had too much to drink because the decorations were knocked over and there was water on the floor."

  • "The food at the Red Feather was great but the hostess was not friendly at all. She was irritated when we asked to be moved from the chef's table because the heat from the oven was too hot. We had a reservation and it was towards the end of the evening (9pm) and she told us if we didn't like the table to just ask to be moved. The waiter then was not very happy with us for the same reason."

  • "Incredible food, wine, service, design and attention to detail. So happy to have a restaurant of this caliber in the neighborhood. ...and a real bonus is that the noise level is minimal thus contributing to a very peaceful dining experience."

  • "We had heard so much about the Red Feather that we were eager to try. We were certainly not dissapointed but it did not quite meet our (high) expextations. We had the gnocci (to die for) and the shrimps and grits, also very good. My husband had the special entree of the day, halibut with pureed peas and orzo pasta. He loved it. I had the hamburger which I did not care for too much First it was cold and the bun is not great. For dessert we share the chocolate torte. There is plenty for two since it is dense and rich but also leaves to be desired. I think there is room for improvement (Specially in the dessert department) and also in the menu in general. Some dishes are great, some not so. But will definitely be back."

  • "Red Feather is a nice restaurant but it should decide what kind it wants to be. If it's a fine dining spot, then the servers need to be instructed not to whisk away diners' plates while others at the table are still eating. And the servers should know how to pronounce the dishes. These are nit-picky complaints, but the prices and ambiance of the restaurant should carry through to the whole experience."

  • "very noisy and frenetic atmosphere. Not a place to feel relaxed.which is too bad because the food was very good. overall experience was good but not great. Would come back if something could be done about the noise level or maybe fewers tables?Nice to see that kind of restaurant in Oakley."

  • "Red Feather has already earned their spot as the inheritor of Boca's old spot in Oakley. The decor is pretty much unchanged from its Boca days, but that includes beautiful exposed brick, a nice bar, and great furnishings. The food at Red Feather is excellent -- everything was well executed, precise, and seasonal. Our only criticism was that the menu, a few specials aside, read like a greatest hits from other restaurants: pork buns from David Chang's Momofuku, a beet salad out of Michael Chiarello's Bottega, charcuterie out o the Publican, etc. That being said, all of those dishes were excellent! Delicious and fresh. With their specials, however, they really hit their stride: an awesome Agnolotti with seasonal vegetables. More like that!"

  • "Many of our friends have already been to the Red Feather and loved it right after it opened. We like to wait a while before going to a new place and weren't disappointed. The menu is simple but varied and reasonable for the quality of food. I had duck and my wife had the lamb chops, both excellent choices. They also brought a terrific floorless choclate cake for my wife's birthday. Our waiter and service was top notch and we are ready to go back again. Brad Bernstein is carrying on the tradition of the restaurant's former occupant, Boca, one of the finest in the city. Keep up the great job!"

  • "Food excellent but once again service disappointing. Waiter seemed overwhelmed by the number under his care. To gain rave reviews, that the food and overall restaurant seeks and deserves this has to change. This our second experience with poor service from the same waiter."

  • "Great food to share. Fast kitchen so pace your order. Servers are knowledgeable and helpful. Great cocktails and wines. We will come back often."

  • "In previous consecutive nights, I ate at Salazar and Abigail Street, which were amazing. So, eating at The Red Feather the 3rd night left a bit to be desired. It's not that the food wasn't good. It's just that after the "rave reviews" i heard from others, I expected the food to "wow" me. Sadly it didn't. The food was good, not great. Our server was great. I will return, however, since it is such a new restaurant, they may have a couple kinks to work out."

  • "I had read some really good reviews and was a little disappointed in the food and service. My chicken breast was good, but leg and thigh not done through. Starter salad a little heavy on vinagrette. My husband's steak was charred, - he felt more burned with alot of sauce - he felt to cover the burn; he told me i grill a much better steak at home. Our server was ok, we had just recently had a marvelous experience at another restaurant, we didn't think this was nearly as good. Wouldn't go back."

  • "This was our first time dining at Red Feather. As local foodies, we had to try the place. It did not disappoint. Food was amazing and the service and staff was great! Best service we have had in a long time! We will definitely be going back!"

  • "They had us at the front door! Our reservation was honored right on time and they gave us over to lovely and very efficient server named Catherine who did all she could to make sure we were comfortable. The food was wonderful- -beef short ribs, the pork chop and the chicken just right! Desserts were delicious too. Of course we'll go back. We hope it will be soon.Stuart"

  • "It is wonderful to have such an outstanding restaurant in Oakley. The Red Feather has an excellent beer list--much more extensive than other similar restaurants. The beet salad was wonderfully prepared. The arugula added a touch of bitterness and the hazelnuts a crunch that work well together with the beets. The fava bean agnoloti was new to me. The colors in the dish were vibrant and artichokes and english peas completed the ravioli's fava bean filling. My wife enjoyed the lamb chops and the kitchen quickly prepared a second serving when the first was over salted. We look forward to dining at the Red Feather again soon."

  • "This place is great. The menu is small but well thought out and flavorful. Our party had the salmon and chicken after starting with the calamari and peppers. Salmon was well prepared and tasty, chicken was not good- tough and not well seasoned. We also tried the roasted beet salad which was fantastic!!!! For dessert we tried the olive oil cake which was wonderful with a grapefruit and lavender sorbet!!!! Service was perfect and friendly, beautiful atmosphere. The owners knowledge of the wine list was spot on!"

  • "What a delightful meal in a pleasant setting. The food was fantastic - I had the shrimp and grits and was very satisfied. The service was good, but I expected a little more from a restaurant of this caliber. The waiter was extrmely nice and friendly; but there were long periods of time when he would not return to the table. Other than that, it was a great experience, and I will be going again. I have been recommending this place to friends."

  • "Went for Sunday brunch. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed. They were actually out of menus. And we waited about 10 mins at our table before our server greeted us or brought any water. But after that things went smoothly. The food was delicious. Love the Bloody Mary bar. The atmosphere and decor are upscale without feeling stuffy. Even the napkins are cool."

  • "I made a reservation for 7 at 1130 for sunday brunch. We were seated promptly. The food was great. I had the ghetta and boursin omlette with red potatoes. I dont think my orange juice was fresh, that would have been a nice touch, but i grew up in florida so im a snob."

  • "I've been to this resturaunt on a few occasion. The food is so good I wouldn't mind pouring myself a glass of wine and grabbing my plate from the chef himself...it sure would be quicker. After two brunc experiences we waited almost 20 minutes for drinks both times. Then another 20 for someone to take our order. The food by far makes it my favorite brunch place in the Nati. Dinner was exceptional and the service was much better in the evening. Don't miss out! Hopefully the service will get better as time moves on. With the amazing wine list and Bloody Mary bar we are never in a rush regardless of how long it takes us to be served."

  • "Between the amazing food, the excellent service and the professionalism and personal sincerity of the chefs and sommelier, we had an amazing experience celebrating family birthdays at Red Feather! We will not only be back, but will recommend this restaurant -- with the highest regard -- to friends, family and coworkers. Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable experience!"

  • "This was our first visit to Red Feather and it will not be our last. The service was excellent and the food exceptional. While I'm not a wine drinker, the wine drinkers amongst our group loved the extensive wine selection. Parking could be a challenge and the space is a bit cramped. Cost was below what I would have expected, at just $304 for 6 peope who consumed 7 beers, 3 glasses of wine, 5 appetizers, 6 entrees, 2 cappachinos, 2 cups of coffee, and 3 deserts. We ate and drank our faces off for $50 a person. A real bargain for food and service of this quality!"

  • "Friendly and knowledgable server of the food and wine. He had a good balance of making sure we had everything but also giving us privacy. Atmosphere is very comfortable."

  • "We live in Oakley right across the street and were bummed when Boca vacated this space to move downtown. How could any restaurant be as good? We booked a table to celebrate our 22 wedding anniversary last Friday and were amazed and excited to find that one neighborhood gem has been replaced with another! Our server Dillon was awesome and full of personality; the wine list was extensive and impressive (with 2 sommeliers on hand to lend assistance if need be); the specialty cocktails were to die for; and the food was creative, fresh, complex and provided fierce competition to the restaurant that was once there. To top it off, the bill was impressively manageable, especially when compared to the experience we had. Can't wait to go again!"

  • "Nice atmosphere, great service but it was nosier than we enjoy. However, every table was filled so on a less busy evening it may be quieter. Nice menu alternatives, great for foodies."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "The chairs are quite uncomfortable and there is not enough space between tables. We all felt cramped and bumped all night. My wife's handbag had food stains on it from where waitstaff had bumped it or spilled on it. The food is very good, but the place is not comfortable."

  • "Roughly half of items ordered were amazing (gnocchi, goat cheese salad) and half were disappointing (scallops, fritto misto). Would try again though."

  • "The food is fantastic and so are the cocktails. I'm not much of a wine person, so I love to go to a place where they put as much attention towards developing a great cocktail menu as they do a great food menu. This is my new favorite place to eat!"

  • "This was my first visit and I am impressed. There are some creative, less than typical ingredient combinations at Red Feather, and what I had was outstanding; as a result of the atypical ingredients, a wine pairing might not be obvious to the diner- the recommendations from the sommelier for by-the-course / by-the-glass were perfect; not every restaurant can manage to get creative with ingredients and have it taste good and / or recommend a pairing. The food was cooked perfectly. The wine list was interesting; service excellent; prices reasonable. I want to return because there are items on the menu that I want to try; everything my companion and I had was consistent in quality with Cincinnati's best restaurants."

  • "I highly recommend this restaurant. We travel the world and always eat at 4 star or Michelin guide restaurants and this was on a par. We had a truly delightful experience, from food to service to great ambience. Enjoyed small plates all delicious...calamari, frito misto, charcuterie, crispy pork belly sliders...yummy! Short rib was melt in your mouth, great beet salad."
