A word from The Red Feather
The Red Feather is a contemporary American farm to table restaurant located in the Oakley neighborhood of greater Cincinnati. We offer an upscale casual dining experience with an emphasis on classic culinary techniques and slow, careful preparations. Enjoy forty wines by the glass, 200+ by the bottle, house made craft cocktails and a comprehensive list of micro-brewed beers. The bar is perfect for an after work drink, meeting friends, sharing a bottle of wine or enjoying one of our innovative bar snacks. Warm woodwork surrounds our three separate dining areas each with its own personality, from cozy and intimate to bright and airy. We also offer an up close and intimate Chefs Table where one can watch the preparation of our food and interact with our Chef/Owners. The Red Feather stands for innovation, rough luxury, and honoring those who worked to bring us the products that we are proud to serve and enjoy.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "This was the second time I ate here. Both times I really liked the food, and service was quite good also. However, this last time it took 2 and a half hours to finish our meal (we each ordered two small plates and shared a dessert). The waiter was quite apologetic about how terribly long it took, but still ... TWO and a HALF hours! It was very crowded for a weeknight, but it looked like they had sufficient number of wait staff, so I don't know what caused the long delay. Anyway, if they could work on this issue it would be really great and I would definitely come back!"

  • "I dont have anything bad to say about red feather. I was looking for something different to try for a special occasion and this worked out well. It met my expectations of a good restaurant but it didn't exceed them which is why i only gave it four stars instead of 5."

  • "Our guests and we were initially seated near the kitchen but we asked to be moved ...since no one wants to sit near the kicchen...it was too noisy and not a good location for us. We were moved to a delightful table near the window which worked out well. The service was good...though we waited for utensils after our entrée arrived. We enjoyed the cheese board and the entrees. However, the scallops were a bit pricey..Dessert was good. The owner/matre d' did come over several times to see us...but he didn't introduce himself. Our waiter was very personable, but we didn't know his name either."

  • "Great spot in Oakley for a wonderful dinner. Everything was tasty. Server was on top of everything and knowledgeable. Heirloom tomato salad was superb and one of the best pork chops in Cincinnati!"

  • "Read about this place and went with a group of friends. Fantastic food and several surprises. Shrimp and grits was fabulous!"

  • "Loved dinner here at table 41, with a clear view of the open kitchen as wonderfully fresh and delicious dishes were prepared and plated. We loved the summer salad and the scallop dish specials-- for starters the east coast oysters were plump and tender and really tasty. Would highly recommend this neighborhood gem!"

  • "I loved my first visit to RF, the second one... well, the food wasn't as well prepared then tried again this week and had horrible service (slow, non-attentive) and the food was not fresh... sauces were cold, gunky, pork chop dry, salmon ordinary and even the wonderful shrimp & grits didn't have as good of flavor. We are wine drinkers, server did not come back to get us drinks, had to keep asking for assistance. So disappointed."

  • "We had another wonder meal at The Red Feather. It is wonderful to see the menu change with the seasons and to be able to try new things. The food is prepared with great attention to detail. The depth of flavor is wonderful. The service is also very knowledgeable and attentive without being cloying."

  • "Red Feather has done it RIGHT! From their eclectic wine list to their scratch kitchen, we literally couldn't get enough. We went with another couple and shared a bunch of dishes... that is the way to go. Highly reco the Steamed Pork Buns.... whoa..life changing! Red Feather will definitely be added to our rotation as I'm already addicted to chef's impeccable pallet for delicious flavor combinations."

  • "This was my second visit to the Red Feather, which is walkable from my home. A very nice ambience - tables are tightly packed into a fairly small space, but not uncomfortably so. A good selection of wines by the glass. Standouts for our group were the calamari, the pork chop ("best I've ever had!"), the lamb chop appetizer, and the halibut. Was surprised that halibut ($30) was the only fish on the menu that evening."

  • "Our party of 3 had a lovely table in the front window. We shared the excellent cheese board and each had the halibut. My sister and I shared strawberries and cream and my husband had crime brûlée to top off a fun evening"

  • "Fabulous food, and I was pleasantly surprised! The overall experience, in my opinion, was much nicer than the previous restaurant in that location - Boca. A much warmer ambience now, and the food is much more to my liking. More real, less pretentious, and you can tell the focus is on what is brought out on a plate, and put in front of you. It's good to see that there is a restaurant like this in the Oakley/Hyde Park area, and that their focus is serving high quality, fresh, local and organic food attained from the right sources. The beer and wine list is great, and will appeal to a wide variety of folks. If you enjoy the Wildflower Cafe in Mason (which I feel is one of the best restaurants and true gems in Cincy), you will like it here!"

  • "We had an excellent dining experience. Our waiter was expert at guiding us through the menu and suggesting perfect wine pairings. We especially enjoyed the beet salad, gnocchi and vichyssoise. We will definitely return"

  • "We went there with friends that haven't been there on a Sunday night. We went on the late side and the restaurant was pretty empty and the chef/owner Brad Bernstein was not there. These might have been signs that it wasn't going to be up to par, but it wasn't. The service and the food were as good or even better than our first visit on a Friday night. Our out of town guest loved it and had a terrific time. Its on our list as a casual neighborhood place fit for foodies!"

  • "We thought Red Feather was going to be a little over the top similar to BOCA just because of association with the location. We found it to be comfortable, friendly and a nice local feel. Food outstanding, nice selection and our server was great!"

  • "Enjoyed a tremendous dinner. Service was attentive and efficient. Our server spent effort explaining features of the menu and the specials that were very helpful. All flavors of all food for our party of 4 were spot on:fresh, flavorful and delicious to the last bite. Portions are generous without being overwhelming."

  • "I had a wonderful dinner at Red Feather 6 weeks ago with my daughters and brought my husband back so he could see how wonderful it was too! We were not disappointed. The service - fabulous. The meal - really quite perfect. Started with the beet salad - yum - then I ordered the same dinner as my first time - the halibut - and it was just as wonderfully prepared as before, so there is great consistency with their food. (husband got the BBQ chicken - also great) When I discovered that the cocktail menu changed from the first time (I had forgotten the name of the fabulous drink I had) I was sad but what I DID order was even better! And the dessert - well the Lemon/lavender/basil mix and the creme brûlée were both delicious. Awesome!!!!!!"

  • "Everything was fantastic from the bread to the decadent chocolate hazelnut dessert. Shrimp and grits were great as was the pasta dish with the beans. Also tasted the gourmet hamburger and the shortribs which were moist and delicious. The pork belly buns were awesome though a bit spicy and the candied hazlenuts on the beet salad added just the right touch. Can't wait to return!"

  • "Made a reservation for Father's Day brunch. Good was great and so was the service. Loved the Bloody Mary bar, although I wish they had a little more options to put into my Bloody Mary. I asked for blue cheese stuffed olives and the bartender was happy to make them for me!"

  • "Loved the food and the atmosphere was extremely comfortable. Looking forward to going back soon as there was plenty of good looking items on the menu. Service was very good and we had younger kids with us. Great Place!"

  • "We had a lovely meal at The Red Feather. The service was wonderful. The bar had neglected to stock the drink my wife ordered and while they chilled it, they offered her an alternative to taste. The food was beautifully prepared. I enjoyed the goat cheese salad which was made with high quality goat cheese and accompanied by an crisp puff pastry triangle. The short ribs were excellent. I was very impressed that the vegetables were not an afterthought. The fava beans and pea tendrils were an outstanding accompaniment. I look forward to returning."

  • "We have dined at Red Feather many times now. The menu is an interesting array of made in house, seasonal selections and each dish is perfectly executed. We usually share dishes because there are too many delicious choices and we don't want to limit ourselves to one or two.Last time we had the soft shell crab on a bed of greens that had us wanting to lick the plate, the calamari is the best in town, homemade mozzarella app rocks, the salads are great and I could go on and on. The waiters are welcoming, knowledgeable, personable, non intrusive but right there when needed. Oh, and did I mention they pour a great drink and the wine list is terrific? Also prices are very fair, especially considering what you are getting. We love this place."

  • "I enjoyed my experience at Red Feather. New restaurant and they have the kinks worked out. Very accommodating with the allergy information and substitution. Service was well spoken and great with wine. It was a little louder than I would enjoy typically, but at 730pm on a Saturday night, that is what you should expect. Overall 5 stars and I would suggest it."

  • "We had heard about Red Feather but really didn't know anything about it. We came early and our table was ready for us. Our waiter was just excellent. He didn't rush us at all the entire evening. The food was excellent. I would suggest the topes type of eating. that way you can taste more than just an entre. Our waiter helped us through our selections and did a really nice job."

  • "Anybody who knows Boca opened this spot and subsequently moved into the former Maisonette building downtown, knows that replacing Boca's awesomeness is a monumental undertaking. Not only does the Red Feather group fill the previous owners shoes, they have shined them and are wearing them as their own. Forget what you knew before. Experience a brand new hit in this tiny gem and watch closely as the staff and owners wow you with their own scratch menu and remarkable pairings of exclusive and elusive wines. Get in on Red Feather now, because if you don't all your friends will be telling you about their experience and you'll just be left out. Thanks guys for putting another feather in the culinary hat of amazing Cincinnati food history. "

  • "This little gem that opened in the former Oakley Boca space is an excellent addition to fill the Boca void. This restaurant has made the space and menu its own, with fresh seafood specials (we had a dozen oysters flown in that day), delectable standards (I had BBQ chicken with Carolina-style sauce), and an impressive wine list, The Red Feather is a restaurant I would highly recommend to all and will frequent often."

  • "It's hard to believe that the food is so mediocre. It was our second time here and we ordered an assortment of appetizers and main dishes. From everything we ordered only the beet salad and chick pea falafel were good. The shrimp, seveche and brochette were all mediocre at best. Forget ordering a main dish all together and go to desert right away. The custard was spectacular! Overall, don't bother going for the food or the chef that doesn't seem to care even when we spoke to him. Go for impeccable service. "
