My boyfriend and I ate here for dinner. Our salad and main dishes were wonderful. The flavors were excellent! The atmosphere was nice and romantic however a bit chilly. We had reservations and were attended to and seated immediately. The server could have been better. He was socializing with other tables to the point that we were waiting long periods of time to get service. I think he realized it by the end of the night, as he did apologize but it was a little late. Hopefully, he'll learn from the experience that every table counts. In the end, I would try this restaurant again.

This was my third time at the Red Door, and I was not disappointed. Everything I ate and drank was delicious from the fried eggplant salad to the pork schneitzel. Even the Lemon Drop was above standard. Our waiters were both professional and funny. The only item that fell a little short was the steak pot pie my two friends ordered - the flavor was wonderful, but the meat itself was a bit fatty with too much gristle, especially for the price. That said, it was a very nice experience overall, and I will definitely return (again and again).

The wine list was not up dated, they only had one bottle available on the list of white wine. The "fillet" pot pie was something other than a fillet, chewy, full of fat and grizzle . Pork was flavorless. Wonder Bread and tasteless eggplant dip served before dinner was a waste of calories. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, were there during menu transitions but wouldn't recommend and we won't be going back

We found this by searching online for a new place to try and we were not disappointed. It's all farm to table, fresh and healthful food, and it tastes great. Amazing black current iced tea. We tried the Brussels sprouts and the cauliflower veggie side dishes and both were delicious. We also ordered the flat bread of the day, a mushroom and mozzarella affair that quickly disappeared almost as fast as it was set down on the table. For entrees we ordered the filet tips quinoa bowl, pulled pork sandwich and fish tacos, and everything was excellent. You could tell the dishes were healthful and made with very high quality ingredients. We will definitely return here!

Great place, ambience, food and service. Big thank you to David who although not working, knew I was bringing my Dad in from Scotland whom he'd met before. David went above and beyond to ensure that Erin, who was also awesome, knew my Dads favorite drink and give him some special attention...very much appreciated in his birthday week. The food was also fabulous, pumpkin gnocci, Brie and fruit pies, filet pot pie were all fabulous. We had no room left...until the banana cream pie and chocolate truffles. Very special night as always at the Red Door, thank you!

This place reminds me of the east coast, though the food definitely has a West coast flair. It's a great small restaurant with a solid wine list and super friendly staff. Everything we go we remark how good the food is. Also I appreciate the small but we'll balanced wine list. Not everything has to be from Napa! I wish more restaurants in San Diego had this much charm and consistency.

We found Red Door on open table. We noted they had an interesting menu for both vegetarians and meat eaters. We both enjoyed the vegetarian and Lasagna. My wife reported that the Maple Parfait was the best dessert she has ever tasted. What a treat for us, so far from our home in Gloucester, MA.

We made reservations for 4 at 12:15. We were not seated until approx 12:30. Problem with that is people without reservations were getting seated before us. Once we were seated, it took a long time to order and to get our food. We had to ask for refills on our coffee. At one point, a server walked by and placed a hamburger on a table, that was seated, and ordered, after us. I think the look on my face triggered a reaction because another server took that hamburger off the other table then a minute later brought it out to our table. We would have complained about them giving us the same burger but was afraid we would never eat. All of this could have been resolved with a simple "I'm sorry" but instead they acted like we were not welcome.

Wanted to try something new and simply went off the reviews and pictures. It was perfect. I would seriously consider this my new favorite place to indulge and enjoy. The food delicious.... The atmosphere divine ... And I loved the music they played. I don't often hear Weezer being played while enjoying such incredible food on a date night. I smiled with every bite. I highly recommend the lasagna and flat bread. We will be back again and again. Loved it!!!

I consider this to be a great place to celebrate a special occasion, with excellent food and attentive service. The a la carte menu (appetizer, vegetable, entree, and dessert) is on the pricey side but is definitely worth the expense. It is a small neighborhood restaurant and, because of its compact seating area, can be very noisy so keep this in mind if you prefer a quiet dining experience.

We enjoyed a two hour brunch during which the noise level changed from a moderate buzz to obnoxiously loud. By the time we left, the noise was nearly intolerable. But we did appreciate that the noisy folks were having a good time, which somewhat helped alleviate the ear pain. We will return to enjoy the musicians, the wonderfully delicious natural food, and the exquisite service. Yes, despite the noise, we like this place.

Managed to snag a babysitter and get a table for a much needed, impromptu date night with my husband. Red Door came recommended, and it was easy to see why. The menu was eclectic but familiar. The staff enthusiastic and helpful. My only complaint was after we were seated, it took about 7-10 minutes to have our waiter stop by and introduce himself and take our drink orders, even though he was taking care of two ladies seated directly next to us. By then though, we were ready to order our meal, and he was perfectly attentive the rest of the evening. We will definitely return to Red Door in the future!

We discovered the Red Door on Restaurant week and are so glad that we did. Arturo and the other wait staff were superlative and anticipated our every need. The food is mainly farm to table and the vegetables come from the owner's garden. We had a lasagne that was delicious and a white manchego fish, beautifully prepared. The truffle dessert was just decadent. I wouldn't recommend the bread pudding as anything special but the creme accompanying it was to die for.

My husband and I made a reservation during SD restaurant week. But we ended up,ordering from the regular menu. Both the burger with fries and the pork on pita were delicious. The waiter was very knowledgeable regarding the wines and recommended a great cab. It was very quiet and the decor is sort of elegant "farmhouse", with nice wainscoting and lovely framed pictures. Overall, a most enjoyable experience. We will be back for dinner soon.

I thought this place was great. Very cute ambiance and wonderful farm fresh food. The portion sizes were a little on the small side, but the food quality is so good it ended up being plenty! I will definitely try again for dinner as this review is strictly for brunch. The service was painfully slow that morning, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. The food isn't as good as it used to be. It's nice that it's farm to table or whatever, but it really needs to look and taste better. I ordered a flatbread that wasn't nearly as good as something I'd make at home. Nobody in our party of 4 was commented favorably on their lunch. They just ate it & moved on.
