Normally it is great service, this
last visit was a slow and confused waiter."

Wasn't sure what to expect but
must say pleasantly surprised. Food was great , service good and atmosphere fun yet elegant. Will definitely go back especially for live music nights."

This restaurant is a gem. I have
been coming to Naples for 25 years and this place is now one of my very favorites. Wish I had discovered it years ago. Excellent piña coladas, crab cakes and key lime pie. Good entertainment and fun atmosphere. Casual dining with excellent food,"

We always look forward to dining
at the Real Macaw. It rarely disappoints us and we take guests there frequently. Wonderful ambiance."

This colorful hideaway is like a
trip to the Caribbean. The food and the ambiance evoked sun and the sea. Nothing tricky just simple prepared perfectly."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Paid high prices for poor
food/drink shabby surroundings and not great service. Not sure how this restaurant has survived for so long. We won't be returning or recommending it to our friends."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Suffice it to say that the food
was excellent! However and its a big however the service and the way the establishment is run leave a whole lot to be desired. One example, the hostess who had great difficulty finding our reservation had to go home and change her clothing which was totally inappropriate for a hostess in a nice restautant .A second would be that no fresh ground bepper was offerer for our caesar salads and there was no salt nor pepper on the table It is a shame that the establishment is not managed properly because the food was excellent."

Was a little apprehensive reading
some of the bad reviews, but The Real Macaw is 5 stars. Six of us dined in the quaint dining room, which is the perfect setting. Joyce our waitress was exceptional, and Kim the hostess was a real hoot. Reviewing the menu on-line, my heart was set on the duck, and without a doubt, the best duck I ever had. Moist and crispy on the outside. Three Sea Bass dinners also got rave reviews, as did the Salmon dinner. The beef Wellington was also rated with high marks. When coupled with the great Manhattens, and house wines which were very good, The Real Macaw is hard to beat. I also had occasion to have the Kobe beef burger at lunch some time ago, and it was a real treat. Tell them the ex Govenor sent you."

My husband & I enjoyed Ahi Tuna &
Kobe burgers for our Valentine's Day lunch. The food was really great. My husband keeps talking about the great Kobe burger! This restaurant is like something out of Old Florida -- pink & green abounds."

A great find and feel with the
food to go with ..You will think your in the islands at your favorite spot..."

I dined at this restaurant last
year so I though it would be fun to go again.(though we ate in the restaurant dinning room, then) Well it was pretty empty, 2 other couples were in the bar area. So instead of eating in the dinning room we decide to have dinner in the bar area. Service was awful, waitresses were taking their breaks two tables away from us, smoking and talking on their phones. Food was OK, at best and expensive. Atmosphere was that of a dirty Key West bar dive. Would suggest to go somewhere else!!!!!!"

Year after year the menu never
varies-would like to see some changes"

A delightful, comfortable
destination for dinner. We always take our out-of-town friends there and have never been disappointed. Food, service, atmosphere - all hit a high mark. Bob especially loves the duck. Sometimes we just order several appetizers for the table and make that dinner (with wine and desserts, of course). Its a great stop for a light, late lunch, too."

First time visit . I try duck as I
have traveled around the country. I have only really enjoyed three different preparations. This was one of them-excellent! The entire meal was very good! My wife had the Salmon and fund it to be excellent also. Next time we will bring friends."

I have no idea how this place has
any positive reviews. It is as expensive as many of the nicer restaurants in Naples, but the food was terrible. The lobster bisque was not the usual pink, but literally pea soup green. The filet was extremely petite...more like bite sized. The mashed potatoes were definitely instant. The "chocolate mousse" was definitely chocolate jello pudding (which don't get me wrong, reminded me of my childhood, but I dont' want to pay $10 for it!)"

A little off the beaten path
geographically, menu and decor-wise, we always enjoy the lay-back Key West feel here. You can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu. And live entertainment Thurs-Sun just adds to the experience."

Fantastic, delicious food.Creative
menu without being too rich. Attentive wait staff. Caribbean decor. Very intimate. Quiet and off the beaten path."

ambience is lovely and christmasy
, service was a bit slow, three out of four diners liked their meal... one did not like the down south chicken."

We've had dinner at the Real Macaw
a number of times. Each time has been memorable. The ambiance is amazingly beautiful and peaceful in the dining room. Dining on the Deck is lush and fun. The bar is friendly and welcoming. The food is consistently interesting, novel and delicious beyond expectation. There is music on Friday and Saturday nights, and there's room for dancing on the deck. That adds a lovely additional treat. After dinner this last time, we left the dining room and got a table on the deck so that we could have another cocktail and dance. All in all it was a lovely evening."

Have had several delicious dinners
at Real McCaw in past years. Not this one. Several items on the menu and wine list were "unavailable" - and the night was yet early. While the appetizers were 'good', the entrees were bland and rather disinterestedly prepared. I remembered a bright, fresh tropical meal, bursting with flavor, even enjoyed the sides last visit. Sadly, this dinner was boring and tasteless. The waiter was friendly (if overtaxed by the small gathering) and the owner, as always was extremely amicable. The mc caw was... real. The experience, forgettable."

We've enjoyed The Real Macaw
several times and found this time to be missing something. We were the only people in the dining room. There was what looked (and sounded) to be a large birthday party in an adjacent room that just seemed to suck all of the resources from the restaurant. The food was good and the service was friendly and upbeat, but the entire experience was missing something. The Macaw was missing and the entertainment seemed a bit out of character. Except for the large party, the place was practically empty and perhaps seemed a bit lonesome. We had guests from out of town and planned on staying in the bar after dinner for the entertainment, but it was practically empty and not inviting as an upbeat way to entertain our guests."

We enjoyed the Key West
atmosphere. Totally informal. Live music was excellent. And the food was outstanding, as always. Friendly knowledgeable staff was attentive without being intrusive."

Disappointing in all aspects
except the service. Not worth the effort to get there, the food was fair and it is overpriced."
Dined on 6/30/2013
If in East Naples then surely stop
by Real Macaw; it is a bit out of the way but the food is pretty good especially given the lack of choices in that area."
Dined on 5/30/2013
Passed this up once as from the
outside it's very deceiving - worth a look inside - quaint cute bar, lovely dinning rooms outside seating... the only thing missing is a view - but that's ok, the food was excellent, best calamari ever, crispy with a wonderful mango sauce, wonderfu pork loin in strawberry sauce (not sweet at all) - sides could have been better, mashed sweets nothing to brag about and veggies too limp for my taste. Service was wonderful, would like to return for the live entertainment."

In a search for a "quieter"
restaurant, one where we could actually sit and talk, not just listen to other diners screaming at each other which seems to be the Naples norm these days, I thought of The Real Macaw. It was nice, and a Monday night so very few diners, but still we were subjected to a group of 8 halfway across the room who were talking to each other as if they were on opposite sides of a football stadium. Why are people so loud in Naples these days? Food was good, although we found the calamari a kind of soggy, but tasty mess. We'd much rather have the sauce on the side rather than having what must have been crispy calamari sitting in the sauce until it is all soggy. Waitress said we could order it that way next time."

Have eaten there many times over
the years and the food has been consistently good. The restaurant does have a real macaw that often comes out to squawk to the diners; the time that we last were there he was indisposed. The owner stopped by our table to make sure that we were satisfied and all six of us were. Don't recall what we ate as we eat at a lot of restaurants, but do recall that we enjoyed everything that we had. The restaurant was very quiet when we were there ( we were the only diners } but often there is a band and it is a lot less quiet then!"
