We requested a booth during my Open Table reservation and was able to get one with no problem at all. The dishes were divine! Foodies will love The Ravenous Pig! We started our evening with delicious cocktails, including The Ravenous Pig Old Fashioned. We ordered the Florida Black Grouper and the Pork Porterhouse paired with small Gatherer salads and Gruyere biscuits. For dessert, we had the Semifreddo and Cake (chocolate pineapple-upside cake). The Gruyere biscuits are a must.We shared everything- charred octopus, hamachi crudo, mixed greens, beets & goat's cheese salad & the oyster trio. All were fresh & flavorful.Basil marinated Florida grouper w/ hush puppies, a perfectly seared steak with crispy truffle fries (too salty), the huge pork porterhouse smothered in barbecue sauce with spicy baked beans & crumbled maple bacon -the best!The only bland dish was the pappardelle, the quail would have been better seared, this dish paled in comparison. Desserts were mango cream in a jar, a nectarine & blueberry crisp & fried pigtails w/ an espresso chocolate dip. However we were given a very friendly welcome and settled down to look at the menu - not exactly extensive but as listed on the website.
We just went for entree and desert. Both excellent.

The drinks were great, the food matched the drinks and the server knew everything regarding the menu. It might seem odd to say, but I had the best baked beans I ever had, even though they were on someone else's plate. Bad experience last time. We were seated in the open kitchen area even though we were first customers to be seated that night. I should have said something but since we had never sat in there before I was uncertain. The waiter was slow to show up and that was the theme all night. I had to flag him down to take our order and after he got our appetizers he went running off without taking our order for dinner. Tables that came in after we gave our order were receiving their appetizers but we continued to wait. The appetizers finally came but had not even seen our waiter in over 20 minutes. We had been to the restaurant a few years ago, and although we had concerns that our experience might not match up to our wonderful memories, these fears were unfounded. It was just as good as the first time! We got the tasting menu - best decision possible! Our favorite dishes were the asparagus salad with truffled egg & prosciutto crumble, and the foie with berries and zucchini. The garnishes often stole the show on these dishes. Everything was perfectly cooked, but the extra flourishes provided pops of flavor that elevated these dishes to the level of the sublime. I love a good cup of coffee and this was great, strong, but not bitter. My companion gave the server a tough, but our server remained calm, kind and professonal.
The noise level is pretty high, but we were able to converse. The parking is limited, but the valet was quick and very nice. Pork porterhouse was the only "pig" on the menu but it was well- cooled and smokey. Oyster shooters were creative and delicious. Shrimp taco was good but the shrimp were fried and there was no mention of that on the menu. Still good though.
