Diner Reviews
  • "We were here for the first time after reading many favorable reviews...We agree with the reviews...wonderful atmosphere...great food choices of selections that you will not find anywhere else...we had the soft pretzels to start..just ok...but the gatherer salad was so flavorful with all of the right combinations! For our entree, we both selected the fried chicken with sweet potato pave and creamed Swiss chard...WOW...the flavors of all parts just complimented each other beautifully...unfortunately between the salad and entree my partner fell ill due to overexposure to the sun so we took her entree home and I had it for lunch the next day...just as good cold as it was hot...true indication that the food was prepared with expertise!"

  • "This was our second time to the restaurant and we wanted to spoil ourselves with an amazing meal for our anniversary. TRP delivered and then some on our expectations. Our server, Jason, was phenomenal and knew exactly when to be around and when to give us some privacy. His recommendations were spot on, especially for the dessert course with the Pot de Creme! Overall an excellent dining experience."

  • "Gave this restraunt a second chance and glad I did!!!! The pork porterhouse was AMAZING!! Huge piece of meat that tasted like endless amounts of bacon :) Definitely recommend and will be back soon!"

  • "I was visiting Orlando and I wanted to taste something different and I found this very good restaurant. I really liked the scallops and the pork porterhouse."

  • "For farm-table food, everything tasted a bit too processed. Rather than focusing on the simple, quality ingredients, The Ravenous Pig threw so much on the plate that it didn't go well together. I forced myself to eat the food so as not to offend the chefs. Our 2-person bill totaled $90, $120 after tip, and we were still hungry. I had the lamb, and only ate the lamb on the plate because everything else tasted weird. My fiance had the pompano. I kept apologizing to him because I felt bad for how hungry he looked. Pompano is not supposed to just be a skinless, tasteless sad little strip...it was underwhelming, much like how a lot of American-style restaurants make their seafood. Maybe I went on a bad month, but this gastro-pub is over-hyped."

  • "The food was good but was LIMITED! The selections of sides were very scarce. If I didn't want beets in some crazy sauce, I was out of luck. Well, I was out of luck. What restaurant doesn't have a POTATO! I was hungry and thought a restaurant having "Ravenous" in the name would have substantial portions. My dish was the size of Saturn and the food in the center looked like penny in the ocean. My server was pretentious and condescending. He made me feel like I was crazy because I wanted a Potato with a Pork Chop. My experience at The Ravenous Pig was Very disappointing."

  • "four successful business people from north jersey, in orlando for a golf trip, went to the ravenous pig the other night and each of them thought that it was one of the best places they had eaten at in a long time. high praise indeed. the pork tenderloin was great. the pigs tails memorable. a great time was had by all."

  • "We love exceptional food creations and ventured to The Ravenous Pig from Kissimmee where we were vacationing. well worth the 30 min trip. The Wild Alaskan Halibut was well composed and delicious every bite. We had our girls split the Pork Porterhouse. It was one of best piece of pork my husband and I have ever tasted. I'm not big fan of pork chops but I'd eat this one again in a second. My husband had the lamb trio and was a bit disappointed by it. To him it was not a composed dish where all the ingredients worked together to deliver savory mouthfuls. The scallop app was delicious and creative as was the charcuterie plate. Finally, dessert was the Pot de Creme. I used my finger to get the last drops from the bowl. It was that good!"

  • "The food was good but I thought the portions were a bit small considering the price point. Overall a decent experience but I doubt I will be back."

  • "We had the Taste of the Pig tasting menu with the optional cheese course and cocktail/wine accompaniment- it was very good. The cocktail with the first course was excellent and the wine pours with each subsequent course were very generous. Overall a great meal and a very good value for six courses with cocktails/wine for under $100."

  • "My wife and I have been to The Ravenous Pig. Our favorite items are the Farmer Salad (one of the best salads we've ever had) and the Pub Burger, also one of the best burgers we've ever had. Ask the restaurant to go easy on the blue cheese or at least spread it out. Otherwise, they have a tendency to clump the blue cheese in the middle of the burger and it can overpower the meat, which is very good on its own. We did not have a great experience with the cheese biscuits (appetizer) or the homemade pretzel (also an appetizer). We were very disappointed with those items on our first experience at the restaurant. The Ravenous Pig also has some excellent beer choices from Cask & Larder, their sister restaurant and brewery."

  • "I make a point to dine here every time I visit Orlando. This time I was lucky enough to have lunch and dinner here. I will say that the lunch selections are kind of limited compared to the dinner menu. They could definitely improve the lunch offerings. But the dinner experience was amazing. I had two appetizers. The Peekytoe Crab and the Foie Gras. Both were superb. The Foie Gras to die for. The biscuits too were outstanding. And my entree was a rabbit stuffed pasta in a shellfish broth with rock shrimp. What a great combination. Unique. Flavorful. And just the right portion size to enjoy one or two appetizers before hand. The drinks are also very good and varied. You should eat here!!!"

  • "Both pasta dishes were incredible. The starter meat & cheese was not our favorite except the pate w/cranberry. Great little desserts."

  • "We have been going to the RP since it opened and we are always pleased and never disappointed at the level of the food and service."

  • "We were so impressed with our lunch and with what else was on the menu that we bought the cookbook. My wife spent the rest of our road trip making a shopping list to start on the recipes. We shared the lamb meatball flatbread. I had a wonderful spring vegetable salad. My wife had the farmer's salad which we both felt should have been better than it was since it looked so good. Reading the cookbook she realized that a very nice dressing had not been. We laughed at ourselves for not having asked to have this corrected. Despite this really major flaw we felt we had an excellent meal and will go out of our way to go for dinner the next time we pass through Orlando."

  • "Burger large and juicy. Mahi portion thin but not fishy. Pulled brisket delicious. Interesting fries, prefer thick sliced fries. Service good but not anything exceptional."

  • "I only had a few hours to enjoy my family when they were coming to Orlando to catch a flight back to the Pacific Northwest following a Spring Break vacation on the Atlantic coast. We were celebrating milestone birthdays and the restaurant had to be perfect. My son in law, a serious foodie said, "This is the first restaurant I've eaten in that lived up to all the hype about the best of new Southern cuisine." Our waiter, Tim, was attentive to all our needs without intruding on our family time. He made sure that the children, aged eleven and six, had everything they needed to enjoy their meals as much as the adults did. This dining experience was a memorable celebration of the best life has to offer."

  • "my food, fish w/ fries was wonderful but I will not be returning. It had been several month since my last visit and I had forgotten why, 5 minutes after my arrival I remembered the noise level was way off the charts and then they opened the doors to the busy traffic noise. I would love to return for the quality of their food and service but won't. They seem to always be crowded so I am sure the noise level will not change"

  • "The food and service were excellent. The majority of our table of six enjoyed the mahi sandwich. The list of microbrew beers was eceltic. I would recommend and return to The Ravenous Pig."

  • "If you are in the mood for something different then this is place! Everything we ordered tasted great! This restaurant puts a unique spin on classic dishes. The staff was enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about menu items. Great place for a date or family outing."

  • "We have been to the Ravenous Pig many times and it never seems to get old or tiring. Quite the opposite, it is always fresh and vibrant. This dinner was no exception. The hostess and podium staff were friendly and efficient. The service was outstanding and the food was exceptional! There were four of us dining and we each had different drinks appetizers and main courses and no one was disappointed with their choices. The icing on the cake was "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the dessert plates. What am understated yet elegant way to celebrate a birthday. Thank you for a special night. Russell"

  • "Made our reservation a month in advance for 6:45 pm on a Friday night, so was surprised to be shown the last table in the rear closest to the bathrooms. Asked for the open booth closer to the front but was told it was reserved. Anyway, had the Gatherer salad and it was good. Three of us had the Cobia over fava beans ($26), and agreed it wasn't very good. Too earthy, maybe? Nothing to "rave" about. The Steak Frites ($25) were delicious but overpriced, as 4 or 5 thin slices of steak plus a beer glass full of frites could have been an appetizer. I guess I shouldn't have expected to find a good fish dish at a restaurant with "pig" in the name... Overall, very disappointed. Service was good, but our experience, not so much. Won't be going back."

  • "We were celebrating my husband's birthday and it was fantastic. He got the lamb trio and I had the organic fried chicken and both were delicious. The cannoli was amazing. I definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "Celebrating a birthday dinner here was not a disappointment. The ambiance was festive, but not loud. The food choices (seasonal menus printed daily) were excellent. The waitstaff were well-trained (very knowledgeable from food to drinks) - the service staff showed great attention to detail. The service was prompt, but not rushed, and we enjoyed a really terrific meal here. I wished we lived locally to enjoy it more often. The appetizers and mains were all excellent -- but the dessert was incredible as well. Wholly impressed. Thanks!"

  • "Not worth the $$$$ Very expensive and not great. If your looking for this kind of food I would go back to "THE TABLE". Would not go back here!"

  • "Ate here only after reading other reviews. My husband and I took my parents here expecting to treat them to a special dining experience. What a disaster. Our server Ian was extremely rude to us from the start. Apparently he doesn't like answering too many questions about the menu. Secondly, he was irritated at my hard of hearing 84 year old father. Really? We should have left after ordering our appetizer and cocktails because it got worse. The food was absolutely awful. Only one out of four of us liked our meal. So over-priced for such bad bad bad food. I never ever go on to websites to write reviews but I must try to warn others NOT to waste a dime here. Really."

  • "Eric our waiter was awesome. Food was beautiful but taste was little lacking"
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "Good food, but the focus of the restaurant seems to be more on themselves than the customer....best described they focus on what they want from the experience, than what the customer needs. A strange dynamic. Maybe reading too many of their own press clippings."

  • "We arrived early, so we had the opportunity to wait at the bar. Wine list was great and the bar staff very helpful and funny. Our waiter was great. He knew an immense amont of detail about the menu and was very nice. The food was amazing. We got two starters because the portions are small, but everythinv was delicious."

  • "Disappointed (very) in the veal copy (which is what they are noted for). The meat was very, very tough...and eventually we gave up! The Appetizers and Salads were creative and, artfully prepared and very good. Stick with tapa style eating!"

  • "We had out of town guests and when we asked where they wanted to eat, they chimed, "Ravenous Pig!" Food did not disappoint - even for a non meat eater like myself! The Gatherer salad was perfect with the cheesy biscuits! Extensive wine list, service always top notch. It was a little crowded where we were sitting with one guy from the next table practically at ours and this was a bit distracting but everything else was great."

  • "This was our second visit to The Ravenous Pig. If we lived in Florida we would probably go monthly. The chef is so creative, I love to try food I normally wouldn't because I can trust he will do it perfectly. This is the type of food where every component makes the dish come together beautifully."

  • "My boyfriend and I love the Pig! It took me a while to convince him to go, he thought a "gastropub" sound obnoxious and hipster. Then, he indulged me once....and we've been regulars ever since. Probably two years now. Alex, our preferred waiter, won him over. His cocktail selections match my beau's palet perfectly. We've never had a bad or even okay meal. Every lunch or dinner is wonderful. From the Pork Porterhouse, The Tacos, salads, wine list...I can't say enough. We bring all our our-of-town guests to The Ravenous Pig, and they ALL love it. Go! You will love it!"
