  • "Food was flavorful and diverse without being over-spiced. Understated plating. Centennial IPA served at optimal temperature. Crème brulée had unique pyramid candy topping, but custard was mundane. Service was polite and anticipatory. Large space with art on the wall, fine dining experience. Visited during winter, but would love to come back when outside dining is appropriate!"

  • "We were celebrating my wife's birthday. We both had steaks that were perfectly prepared and of high quality. I had a Beet salad with my meal that great and recommended. Not inexpensive but service was spot on (not too pushy, and attentive as needed). Great view of the river. Looking forward to going back when the weather gets nice and the patio is open."

  • "Had a wonderful dinner at the Rattlesnake Club on Friday night for my wife's birthday. Appetizers were fabulous (poached oysters, seared Ahi tuna and barbequed jumbo shrimp). The meal was absolutely delicious. My wife and I had surf & turf, hers with shrimp, mine with scallops. The filets were cooked just as we ordered them and seasoned to perfection. I would recommend the Rattlesnake Club as a great venue for special occasions. It is right on the Detroit River, so in the daytime, the view would be very nice."

  • "The food was excellent for me as it always is. The perch was fresh and hot. However, my dinner companion was not so happy with his meal. He ordered a pepper encrusted fish? I thought it was a risky leap, yet he insisted. Looked like a strange combination and tasted bland. The staff was more than accomodating as they offered a dish that would be more comparable to his palate."

  • "Every time I go to the Rattlesnake Club I've had a great experience. This time I had the blackened snapper and it had all of the spice I like without being overpowering. The texture of the fish was delicate and moist. I finished with their Wam dessert, which was sweet and fruity and a perfect finish to a great meal."

  • "Restaurant was nice, but I really expected a lot better. Seems there is more emphasis on presentation, which was nice, as opposed to really good food. I thought everything was good but not WOW... great. Waitress was good but apparently having a bad day. The bus staff was slow to remove plates. The location of the bus and wait staging area is among the tables which is disturbing."

  • "I have dined at the Rattlesnake for a birthday, a luncheon, and recently to celebrate an anniversary. Each occasion was perfect, the service was superb as well as the food, tasty seasonal. I do not consume alcohol but I was pleased that the coffee after dinner was hot and delicious. I recommend this Detroit jewel to others."

  • "The service was impeccable. We were greeted immediately and given a table by the window, where we could see the river. Our waitress came over almost immediately. Water refills occurred frequently, our waitress was in view and ready to help most of the time we were there. The food was hot and well-prepared (and delicious). The portions were slightly below average size, but that was expected. The presentation was outstanding. Coffee after the meal was served at table in a french press. A coffee lover could not ask for more. Our first visit, but we will return soon, and hopefully will bring friends!"

Our server was very attentive to our needs. I'm very glad that this restaurant since chef Jimmy Schmidt left has not changed their core values. My next visit will be soon with family."

  • "disappointed by the hyped. Denny's from 1985, without the grand slam. Kenny G, and Muzak, decor as dated as shown from the 30 years it's been open. The food was alright. Nothing to write home about. Service, was a bit unnerving when the overly attentive bus staff is pulling plates away as you're still eating. Felt rushed, surprising that there were only a handful of tables. Over staffed. Like vultures circling. I've heard great things about their happy hour. Will try their patio service once the summer hits. For being in such a hip historical warehouse, for Pete's sake, tear down the Lego coloured ceiling, and drop ceiling tiles. And go for the open loft feel. Otherwise it's just another overpriced Bill Knapps serving the golden girls."

The Rattlesnake had a unique menu with an elegant ambiance that was exactly what we were looking for. The servers were very attentive without being annoying and the food was delicious.   • "WE WENT FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE AND HAD A LOVELY DINNER. MY HUSBAND HAD THE SURF AND TURF AND SAID IT WAS DELICIOUS. I HAD THE LAMB SHANK IT WAS PROBABLY THE MOST TENDER MEAT I HAVE EVER EATEN. JUST WISH IT CAME TO THE TABLE A LITTLE HOTTER. WE ALSO SHARED THE CALAMARI/SHRIMP PARFAIT WHICH WAS GREAT TOO!! WE BOTH HAD ROOM FOR DESSERT IT WAS GOOD ALSO. OVERALL A VERY GOOD MEAL!!"

  • "We had a nice setup, my date ordered a salad with no reddish, I ordered the grilled salmon with a baked potato. Greg our servant messed up the orders, we had tons of reddish in the salad and I got mashed potatoes instead of baked. greg was not even apologetic when we brought it to his attention. I asked for medium to well done salmon and it was rare. greg did not even offer anything to make up for the 3 mistakes that he made, the place was not even busy or full for him to be overwhelmed."

  • "This was our first time at the Rattlesnake Club. We went here for our 11th wedding anniversary and were not impressed with the pretentious atmosphere. The waiter was uptight and even condescending at times, especially during his explanation of the history of the place. Both my wife and I were well dressed, are college educated, and have excellent manners. We like to think we are well-spoken and cultured. We are also unfailingly polite, so his attitude was not because we were being rude. Maybe it was because we didn't order wine? The valet parking is a long walk from the front door and across a street. The food was good, although I had to send my steak back to be cooked. I ordered it medium and it was served rare."

Located just steps from the Detroit River and the new, breathtaking River Walk, the food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. The beautiful contemporary decor has touches of Detroit's Art Deco past. It's vibrant crimson walls lends to an energetic atmosphere. Put the Rattlesnake Club at the very top of your need-to-go-to restaurant list."

  • "Very nice place to eat,quiet,romantic for an anniversary or just a nice night out. Food is always good, they had a large senior group that arrived by bus that they seemed to not be staffed for. It seemed to take a long time to get service and to order our meals. Finally someone came from another room in the back where another Xmas party was going on and waited on us. For the most part considering the time of the year the service was ok but not up to the standards they promote."

  • "I have been to the Rattlesnake Club a few times, but always dined outside. I took my leadership team as a Holdiay luncheon to thank them for their efforts throughout the year. We were a party of 6 and two of us arrived first. Rather than being seated immediately, we had to wait for the hostess to take care of other business. The restaurant was not busy (there were 2 other parties there, already seated, when we arrived). The focus wasn't on making us feel important. I would appy the same comments to the wait staff assigned to our table. This is a relatively expensive restaurant. The food is good, the attitude of the staff is poor and not client friendly."

  • "My Wife and I have been fans of the Rattlesnake for many years. The food is usually outstanding but this time it slipped a notch. My NY strip was over done and the lobster mac and cheese was warm and lacking any flavor. We will give them a rain check but, we will not really go out of our way to go back any time soon."
