  • "We went during the limited restaurant week menu but the selection was still great. The food was impeccably prepared. Delicious and beautifully plated. Great service by the staff. The restaurant is near the river walk, but not on the water, so you can see the Detroit River in the distance. Good place to impress a date."

  • "Went for restaurant week, which explains some of the less ideal portions of the meal. All food was good, that said, the duck entree came out cold, and the whole meal felt rushed. Entrees were on the table before appetizers were finished/cleared, and desserts came out (with no flatware) before the entrees were finished. Flavor profiles were good, and the panko breaded poached egg was wonderful, albeit under seasoned."

  • "Every spring a group of friends and I plan a dinner out for Detroit Restaurant Week, this year Rattlesnake Club made the cut. The food was very good, and presented very well. I had the trout for the first time, and while it was cooked very well, I would order the lobster next time. I kept peeking over at my friend's lobster next to me. Chris, our server, did an excellent job of checking our table regularly, and making us feel comfortable. Only thing I could knock down about the restaurant is their inability to split checks for large groups....carry cash next time. "

  • "We were a little disappointed. We had dined here previously and were very impressed. This most recent occasion was during restaurant week and the food was less than satisfying. While the presentation was very good both the duck and the steel head trout were under cooked. Simply because we choose to dine during restaurant week should not mean we should be treated to poorly prepared food."

  • "Prompt seating at window table overlooking river and table service was just the right amount of being there when we needed but not hovering. Duck was nice presentation and very tasty servcie with excellent parnip side. Duck breast med rare part of seving was closer to warm. Companions strip teak was very good, similar to prime rib melt-in-mouth done just right but without all the fat. Other companion had Lobster that was excellent. very generous portion of chocklate cheesecake was the choice for all, which was nice presenation and tasty, but again not quite excellent. Personal preference are locations that offer more complexity and intimacy vs the rather noisy big box room."

  • "I went to the Rattlesnake club for restaurant week on April 12, 2014 and have been there many times before. I was not pleased with this experience and will probably not ever come back during this time. We checked in when we arrived at the restaurant and was told it would be a few minutes so we went to grab a drink at the bar while we waited. The bartenders were absolutely rude and made us feel bad for ordering a drink. At a higher end restaurant like this you would think the staff would be overly friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was a little nicer but still very aggressive and blunt. The food was decent but when you have terrible staff, it doesn't matter how good the food is and we most likey will not come back."

Crème brulée had unique pyramid candy topping, but custard was mundane. Service was polite and anticipatory. Large space with art on the wall, fine dining experience. Visited during winter, but would love to come back when outside dining is appropriate!"

Not inexpensive but service was spot on (not too pushy, and attentive as needed). Great view of the river. Looking forward to going back when the weather gets nice and the patio is open."

  • "Had a wonderful dinner at the Rattlesnake Club on Friday night for my wife's birthday. Appetizers were fabulous (poached oysters, seared Ahi tuna and barbequed jumbo shrimp). The meal was absolutely delicious. My wife and I had surf & turf, hers with shrimp, mine with scallops. The filets were cooked just as we ordered them and seasoned to perfection. I would recommend the Rattlesnake Club as a great venue for special occasions. It is right on the Detroit River, so in the daytime, the view would be very nice."

I thought it was a risky leap, yet he insisted. Looked like a strange combination and tasted bland. The staff was more than accomodating as they offered a dish that would be more comparable to his palate."

I thought everything was good but not WOW... great. Waitress was good but apparently having a bad day. The bus staff was slow to remove plates. The location of the bus and wait staging area is among the tables which is disturbing."

I do not consume alcohol but I was pleased that the coffee after dinner was hot and delicious. I recommend this Detroit jewel to others."

  • "The service was impeccable. We were greeted immediately and given a table by the window, where we could see the river. Our waitress came over almost immediately. Water refills occurred frequently, our waitress was in view and ready to help most of the time we were there. The food was hot and well-prepared (and delicious). The portions were slightly below average size, but that was expected. The presentation was outstanding. Coffee after the meal was served at table in a french press. A coffee lover could not ask for more. Our first visit, but we will return soon, and hopefully will bring friends!"

Our server was very attentive to our needs. I'm very glad that this restaurant since chef Jimmy Schmidt left has not changed their core values. My next visit will be soon with family."

  • "disappointed by the hyped. Denny's from 1985, without the grand slam. Kenny G, and Muzak, decor as dated as shown from the 30 years it's been open. The food was alright. Nothing to write home about. Service, was a bit unnerving when the overly attentive bus staff is pulling plates away as you're still eating. Felt rushed, surprising that there were only a handful of tables. Over staffed. Like vultures circling. I've heard great things about their happy hour. Will try their patio service once the summer hits. For being in such a hip historical warehouse, for Pete's sake, tear down the Lego coloured ceiling, and drop ceiling tiles. And go for the open loft feel. Otherwise it's just another overpriced Bill Knapps serving the golden girls."

The Rattlesnake had a unique menu with an elegant ambiance that was exactly what we were looking for. The servers were very attentive without being annoying and the food was delicious. I recommend the Rattlesnake Creme Brulè."
