Diner Reviews
  • "Always good--sometimes great---service was stretched too thin on Sat night"

  • "Great Food and a wonderful place to go for a step above the rest"

  • "My girlfriend and I love mussels and thought that we'd found our favorites when we dined at Zula. To discover that Quarter Bistro's were even better gave us such a pleasant surprise! The truffle fries are outstanding, as well. We split mussels, a Caesar salad, grilled asparagus, and the fries, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The homemade bread dipped in the mussel sauce was heavenly. I enjoyed a West 6th IPA in a super cool can-shaped glass, while my girlfriend had a lovely Chardonnay. The Bistro's wine list is pretty extensive. My only issue with the place, besides service that ran a little on the slow side, was the cramped space. Even though we were there on date night, it wasn't an intimate vibe; too many tables tightly packed."

  • "Service was pretty good. They obviously have a good relationship with the Mariemont Theatre. Not only did they provide a special menu relating to the classic movie that played that evening, but the servers (at least ours) checked w/ us about if we were seeing the movie after dinner (or if we had any plans afterwards & therefore had a certain time schedule). I got the French Onion Soup. I thought about also getting a side, but after asking the server about portion, I chose wisely to stick with the 10 oz soup. I might have preferred the side dish better. While there was nothing specially off-putting about the taste of the soup, it was definitely nothing special. In fact I had made French Onion soup myself several months ago that was better."

  • "we had a great time introducing some close freinds to this little gem we've been to once before. Food was reasonably priced, moderately creative, but well prepared. Service very good...servers name was Daniel and he made us feel welcome and "at home" and was helpful, polite and gracious. The atmosphere and ambiance was my favorite part. The colors and decor was very soothing and elegant, the table was nicely set and the chairs were very comfy. There was a great energy to the place too...it was a kinda strange and delightful combination of elegance in the midst of excitement and energy from the crowd."

  • "We love this restaurant, have never been disappointed. Try the burger or the veggie tacos, we order those two all the time."

  • "As we walked in, I felt like we'd been transported to a New York restaurant in the 20's. Ryan, our server was prompt, personable and made us feel at home - and gave us the time to make decisions with no rush. The martini's were fantastic - creative without being too far out of the main stream. Our appetizer - the calamari - was just right - not rubbery or overly breaded and came with 2 sauces. We decided to share the beet salad and the special - sea bass on a bed of wild rice. No issues or up charge for splitting the entrée and that left us with room for desert. Ryan recommended a great white burgundy for the sea bass that was NOT the most expensive on the list ( a pet peeve of mine). Flourless chocolate and a port were a perfect end."

  • "Our waiter made the evening very special for our daughter. He was So knowledgeable regarding wines, the menu, and kept acknowledging "the birthday girl". 3 of our party ordered the special which was tilefish, which our waiter described as similar to grouper. It was excellent! The lobster macaroni was also very good. My husband ordered the French onion soup which was as good as we experienced in Paris, France. Lovely décor. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Mariemont."

  • "We really like the vibe and location but the food was nothing special. Had the calamari appetizer, beet salad, trout, and flourless chocolate torte. Loved the blood orange martini though. The noise level was high but if you are able to dine outside its wonderful."

  • "I sometimes forget about this great spot in Mariemont. The interior is a cool red with energetic decor. The dining room is great for a date. But it isn't a quiet place, as the bar area was hopping with live classical guitar so it doesn't feel stale at all. The food is great."

  • "Having been to the Quarter Bistro several times, the food is always well done. When attending for a later dinner seating and the evening rush has thinned out, we've had some exceptional service. Likewise, when attending a dinner seating during the evening rush, the service is good but our servers take a little longer when pulled in several different directions at once. Overall, a consistently great meal and good service."

  • "The Bistro is connected to the Mariemont Cinema (a real theater, not a cinema-plex) which makes for a terrific date-night spot combination. Park once, got to the movie, eat (before or after). A great small theater with a wonderful restaurant right next door. The Bistro food is very good and the service is outstanding. The menu goes from "light fare" to foodie fare but however we eat, the Bistro makes it a relaxing evening. The ambience is wonderful and fun with tables ranging from couples like us, or groups of friends or families taking the kids out to the movies (we went on a Friday night). What a wonderful way to end the work week."

  • "A favorite restaurant of ours. Attentive service and generally good food. Menu is somewhat limited but otherwise, a great place for dinner."

  • "We've been going to the Quarter for years. It is "outstanding" for what it aspires to be--a really nice spot for a well-executed meals at a range of prices from about eleven dollars for a great burger, or superb muscles, to twenty-five and up full entrees which are interesting, and "current" and oftentimes superb. Absolutely decent wine list, almost always excellent service. Everyone dining always seems to be really enjoying themselves. One regret--until about three years ago, the chef always offered a choice of three really good pizzas...now that's down to pepperoni!...totally uncharacteristic of the generally classy show."

  • "We dine out quite frequently and have seen many restaurants become less enticing over time. This is not the case with Quarter Bistro. We don't live in the immediate area, but are willing to make the 30 minute trip because the food is outstanding and the service excellent. It's always a pleasant surprise to taste the various items on the menu that are prepared with a different twist, something unexpected. There is an energy in the restaurant; it bustles with conversations. The background music has a bit too much bass and can be distracting, but it can be turned down if you ask the server. Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday here and we'll be back again."

  • "The restaurant's atmosphere was great, beautiful decor but we were not particularly thrilled with our food. Fish was very fishy and not quality we would expect. Steak was good. Calamari was tough. Would go back but would get hamburger, pizza, something less dramatic. ."

  • "Great food and excellent service. Tables are too close together making things a bit uncomfortable. That said, we'd still go back."

  • "Last year was great, brought us back this year. This year dinner seemed to emphasize quantity over quality. Taste was masked by spices, meat was tough, dessert cookie and brownie were stale..."

  • "The quality of the food and service is among the best in the Cincinnati area. I had the salmon dinner and each bite was heavenly. The restaurant was full on the Monday after Christmas, probably a testament to the very high quality of the dining experience."

  • "We were pleased that when we got to the restaurant, we got a table in the middle, so were not crowded up next to someone we did not know. But, the service was at best fair. Our waitress seemed to be covering both us & the bar. We found ourselves checking our watches while waiting for orders, entrees and then for the check."

  • "During the holiday break we took a friend from out of town for a movie at the Mariemont Theatre followed buy dinner at the Bistro. We had done similar things in the past on out own and have always enjoyed the experience. Our friend who had never been to the Bistro before loved the décor and the festive atmosphere. As usual we enjoyed our mojitos! Despite the fact the restaurant was very busy the service was great."

  • "party of 4- wonderful service, food was at its best (we've had disappointing meals at the quarter before), and the restaurant was busy and energetic with a fun ambiance...bravo!"

  • "Had the French Onion Soup and Lobster Ravioli. Both were superb. The wine list was impressive- but I went with beer because I am a man of the people. The beer list was short but pretty good. The wait staff was attentive, but seemed a little agitated the whole time. But lots of people get agitated with me so some of that is probably on me. All in all a good spot- worth checking out."
