The PruneReally nice high end restaurant.Really nice high end restaurant. Wine recommendation was very good. Very expensive though.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPrune not puckered!Chance led us to The Prune for our 37th anniversary. It will be a memorable one! The amazing courtyard will be an outstanding memory - relatively small, but incredibly beautiful! The sommelier knows his stuff - excellent champagne! The food was wonderfully prepared, though the waiter needs to concentrate a bit more, as he brought the wrong main-course order, and waiting for the actual order kind of wrecked our plans for the rest of the evening. Also disappointing was the fact that he didn't seem bothered much by this gross error.
But it's all good! The fabulous food/drink, scenery, and ambiance make up for little mistakes. We'll definitely be back!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMChoicePerhaps a choice for the special in addition to fish?6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful unique food choicesVeal Cheeks is not a food I am familiar with, but I took a chance in ordering it and I wasn't disappointed!. This beef dish was so tender, you could have cut it with a spoon. It was simply delicious! The "amuse bouche" and extra little tart dessert that the chef prepared as nice little surprises to begin and end the meal, were as delicious to the eye as they were to the palate. Simply put, Yum! Also, the ravioli appetizer and chocolate dessert selections were wonderful and flavorful also. My husband ordered the Trout and loved it. His Rhubarb dessert was wonderful also.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. You have to pay for truly good food, so be aware of the prices by checking their menu on-line first.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was delicious -Everything was delicious - not huge portions which is great since this is a prix fixe menu. Everything delicious!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI had the smoked trout appetizerI had the smoked trout appetizer and the veal cheeks. Both were superb.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWonderful food, service, and ambience. Truly a rare find!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMEnchanting restaurantWe went to this restaurant with a group of people after seeing a play in Stratford. The restaurant had just opened the night before for the season, but you would never had known. The food was incredible and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The food portions are perfect, so you can get an appetizer, your meal and dessert and not feel overstuffed. I would highly recommend this restaurant, and it didn't hurt that Christopher Plummer was eating right next to us.!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA Prune with a ViewWhen we arrived last Friday for dinner, having been away the past 2 years, we were struck again by the attention to detail in the polished glassware, lighting and subdued color palette that let the outdoor garden become our charming dinner companion. The menu that night was prix fixe and excellent. Our view and enjoyment could not be improved - so we thought - until a delightful party of four were seated at the table directly next to us: Theatrical producer par excellence Des McAnuff and internationally acclaimed actor and Canadian national treasure, Christopher Plummer and their wives. The Prune gave us a view to excellent local dining, a whimsical garden and the immense talent - on stage and in the kitchen - that will keep us coming back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
