  • "Pros: Free Valet Parking and the Ambience. Good for a romantic setting. Appetizers were good. Best Lobster Bisque I've had. Cons: The Hosts and Waiter were nice but didn't make you feel very inviting. Seating had my back to the 2-piece band. Steaks weren't as good as expected based on the previous reviews for the price. Though well seasoned, My husband's steak was under cooked and my prime rib was a little tough. The dessert tasted like it was microwaved."

  • "Sitting at the bar with the bartender Rob was a night to remember. His martinis are the best I've ever had, the glass I encrusted with ice. He even created a cucumber tini to die for. He served us at the bar and we could not have been happier. The singing at the piano and impromptu appearance of Political satirist Mark Russell was incredible. What a night. Thanks you."

  • "I knew Prime Rib was old school, but I guess I didn't realize quite how stodgy it is. I'm not sure I've ever regretted more wearing a light sportcoat to dinner, which seemingly engaged a different level of service with the staff that conveyed either snobbery or mild panic. The pretension was a bit much for a restaurant with drop ceilings and chipped sconces. The prime rib is excellent, perfectly done - but that seems requisite. The potato skins were pretty amazing too - but I just typed 'potato skins' after describing being made uncomfortable for my informality. I guess there are many that think this the kind of place Sinatra would eat. I kinda think if he were in his prime today, Frank would be hip to all the better options in DC."

  • "My wife and I were in town for a wedding. Our reservation was at 7, however since we were walking all over DC we decided to try and see if we could get in earlier...like 6! They were so accommodating. We sat next to the piano and Bobby was our waiter. This guy took care of us like family!! Next time we are in DC we will ask for Bobby. Chilean sea bass was fantastic and the crabcake is to die for!"

  • "Went here entertaining out of town guests, who suggested Mortons, since that is a chain, tried to be more imaginative. PR had a high rating so we booked it. Service was what one would expect, although my wife noted that there was dried food on her fork. Portions were not large, but adequate. The salmon was small, dry, nothing special at all. I've cooked better at home. The Chilean Seabass was prepared very well. It came with a sauce on the side which was very good, otherwise, it was just a small/medium piece of fish. No better presentation than one would get at Legal Seafood. Our guests had the prime rib which they liked. The portion filled the plate and done to their satisfaction. Way overpriced. Would recommend Morton's over PR."

  • "The service was "excellent" but the food was merely "good." We'd read in a magazine that this was one of the top restaurants in D.C. The food didn't live up to the expectation. My husband had the prime rib, and I had the crab cakes, they were both good, but with restaurants like Capitol Grill that have a larger selection and is still upscale, I would choose Capitol Grill. We also ordered their "famous" potato skins and they were not good at all. They were over cooked and flavorless. We visit higher end restaurants several times a year, and for the money I probably wouldn't go here again. Again, the food wasn't bad, sans skins, and the atmosphere was upscale and romantic, but there are places with better food for the same price."

  • "The Prime Rib stands alone in a class by itself. The last of the truly great steak houses with an ambiance that is unparalleled. I know of no other restaurant that requires a coat for men. Nice touch. Black leather seating and crisp white table cloths. Servers in tuxedo but not arrogant, just helpful and polite. Food is out of this world. Perfectly done. And music from the grand piano while dining. It is simply the best. Anywhere."

A guy in fadded blue jeans, what appeared to be a red tee shirt, and a baseball hat. It wasn't just the blue jeans that got to me, but the overall individuals appearance. It it appears that as long as you have a sport coat on anything goes. Until I got the bill I was about to think that I was in one of the local sports bars. Walt"

  • "Don't get me wrong, I am not against traditional dining... in the contrary, I embrace it every once in a while, and that is why we reserved at The Prime Rib for a special family steak dinner. Food was all good, quite good indeed. Service was top notch. Wine service sucked, though, which is a huge miss for such an establishment. Wine was not in appropriate temperature, wine glasses are not up to par, and there is no apparent sommelier, but a bartender who knows the wine. No disrespect, but I asked basic questions and got no answer, so he is not that good with wine. This place needs to renovate and keep its grandeur, or leave its place in the rankings to the new top steakhouses."

  • "The Prime Rib is not so prime any more. There used to be wonderful luncheon-sized steaks on the menu. Now the choice is a not so well presented sliced london broil and a slab of marginal prime rib. There also used to be oysters on the half shell -- a staple for any self-respecting business lunch white table cloth restaurant. The oysters are still on the menu, but not available from the kitchen. And there is no carrot cake! The wait staff is still as professional as ever, but the management is really limiting the staff's ability to provide the high quality experience that was the hallmark of the Prime Rib."

The service was flawless and the ambience was perfect. I have eaten at steakhouses from coast to coast and this one will be on my list forever. May be tough to get a reservation, but keep trying-it is worth the wait. Kudos to the piano and bass player as well."

  • "They just don't make restaurants like this anymore. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the farm to table organic meme with the 20 something bearded chef with a knit cap on, as much as the next guy. But every once in a while, you need to go out to dinner like your old man used to go out to dinner. Black and white decor, nothing too fancy, a high ball in hand, a piano playing, and a steak. I felt like Dean Martin. The service was top shelf, and the meal was great. I also had a cup of the lobster bisque which was spot on. I ordered my strip medium since a lot of steak houses under cook it a bit, but this was an exact medium with slight pink. It was great, but with that quality of meat, next time I'm going medium rare."
