The Prime RibThe Prime Rib is one of myThe Prime Rib is one of my favorite restaurants. The beef is the best in town and the service is fabulous. Also, I like that the noise level is low and I can converse with my dining companions.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service at a price!Overall very nice experience. But a little too pricey. $515 for 4 people.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat b'dayFantastic service! We celebrated a birthday and the location, ambiance and food was perfect for the occasion. I thought the lobster bisque was a little too thick so I didn't give the food 5 stars5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMexcelenceThis restaurant is what we should called Excellence in every sense, Perfect prime rib, wine, service. Every thing is high quality, I´m a little envy because we don´t have one close of my country or Miami. But I will always keep coming here every time I can. We had the honor of meeting the owner, wonderful man with a lot of presence and kindness. Congratulations. This is My preferred restaurant in the world.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious andThe food was delicious and we loved the piano music at lunch. We hope to go back soon.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMClassy, quality steak houseVery good steak house with efficient, non pushy service. Not the best steak ever, but still high up.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service for a festive birthdaA group of friends had a birthday celebration here, and the round table in a corner with a large armchair for the birthday girl was quite festive. The service was great and made the honoree feel very special indeed.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial eveningWe had a lovely evening at Prime Rib--wonderful food--we tried the prime rib and the steak--both were excellent. The service was also marvellous. The restaurant may be a bit formal for some--men are required to wear a coat--but this made the evening all the more special. We were in town for a convention, and after reading online reviews decided on Prime Rib over Ruth's Chris--I'm so glad we did.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you're in the mood forIf you're in the mood for prime rib, this is the place to go!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst impressions are lastingFirst impressions are lasting and The Prime Rib made an exceptional first impression. Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. A must if you want to show someone they are special.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent for a special night out!The food was phenomenal, and the service was very prompt and attentive. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone celebrating a special occasion.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived a little late butWe arrived a little late but they were ready for us and very accommodating. All the guests enjoyed their food and the service was very good. I would recommend this to any groups for a business lunch.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTraditional steak housePrime Rib sports all of the accouterments of a by-gone area, from the formal bartender, piano, and dark wood all around. Given the four-star prices, I was surprised at the thickness of the rib-eye I ordered--it was, at best, 3/4 inch. Texas Roadhouse serves a thicker steak! Overall, a fine place for a business dinner when you're on an expense account.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousThe Prime Rib is delicious. The server was great, and it's nice that they want you to dress up for a special dinner such as this.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMBest 'high end' steak jointIf you're really into steak, Prime Rib is a must. That was the best cut of meat I've had in a while, much better than Morton's or other high end steak houses. Plus, way more variety in terms of cuts (prime rub, NY Strip, filet, etc). It didn't feel like they were phoning it in which is what you get some other steak places. Seriously, couldn't recommend it higher. Will definitely be back.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreatService staff was knowledgeable, friendly and responsive and the food was delicious! Great restaurant for any special occasion or simply a nice night out.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA Grand EveningSuperb...quintessential excellence masquerading in romantic ambience. We loved it; our one date night out (kids) was more than we could ask for. Eric, our waiter, made the evening with his great recommendations, razor wit, and an understanding that we were here for our one night of adult time...great!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite! Best Filet in DC!Wonderful ambiance, great for special occasions. Excellent service!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good. Jackets requiredAlways good. Jackets required for dinner giving a more formal atmosphere. Its expensive but worth it. The food is good but I'm not sure its as good as it used to be.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial NightWe had reservations for the Kennedy-Center so we needed to dine early and choose to dine at Prime Rib. We arrived a little early , but the staff was very accommodating and seated us right away. The waiter was outstanding, gave us good recommendation, both for food and wine. Appetizers and the entree' were both excellent. I would highly recommend to an friend.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMour go-to place for birthdaysI love the large cut prime rib, and my GF loves the crab cakes -- far superior to crab cakes elsewhere, and at a very fair price. Service this time was barely average -- usually it is excellent. But the food was superb, so we were very satisfied. We shall return... again and again and again, so long as the food quality remains this high.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMClassical SteakhouseEverything you would like in a fine dining steakhouse! The server was not only extremely knowledgeable, but conducted himself with the utmost professionalism. I had the aged NY strip, mid-rare, with the mushrooms on the side. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the steak melded perfectly with the meal. The steak was sold as one of their most flavorful and it did not disappoint. The individual next to me had the artichoke hearts and escargot, both of which I will be trying next time I am there. I hear they opened one up in Arundel Mills, so next time I'm trying my hand at blackjack or Texas hold'em, I'll make it a point to visit the Prime Rib.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent ServiceHarvey was our server and provide excellent service. The food was delectable. Just a great dining experience.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways consistent. Kudos toAlways consistent. Kudos to our waiter Steve who made the night even more enjoyable. The food, service, and ambiance is the best.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe atmosphere was very nice; The atmosphere was very nice; the restaurant had a very old money feel to it. The music and the service were excellent. We had the lobster bisque for an appetizer. It was absolutely delicious. I had the filet mignon cooked medium, oscar style. It was perfect and melted in my mouth. My husband had the lobster santiago style; another phenomenal dish , although he added he liked my filet more. Plan to spend money here. We had a bottle of wine with our dinner and the final tab was $221.65. Excellent choice for a special occasion.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I went thereMy husband and I went there for our our 15th wedding anniversary. We had a great time! The food was great and the waiters were very polite although our waiter was a bit slow.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMRoyal treatment.I try to visit the Prime Rib when I travel to DC. Dave is the best waiter in the District and Paul will grace your table with song upon request! You will feel like royalty. They do it well.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMJust as good as I rememberJust as good as I remember from years past. Best chocolate ice cream I think I've ever had, as it should be for the price, but still worth it.
If you like prime rib, in Washington or Baltimore, this is the place to go.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI don't like to put a limitI don't like to put a limit on peak experience, but the Prime Rib is as good as it gets. Top food, top service, top music, top experience. It is simply the best, and you can count on it every time you go. And you can go in DC, Baltimore, and
Philly. We need to try the new restaurant at MD Live.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my wife to The PrimeI took my wife to The Prime Rib for her birthday. I expected the experience to be good, based upon reviews, but they far exceeded my expectations. The wait staff, Maitre d' and everyone we encountered were exceptional. The food was the best I have had anywhere. We have traveled all over the country and eaten at some fine establishments. This is without question, the best steak and prime rib restaurant I have ever encountered.
I will recommend this restaurant to everyone that I know.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is always good and serviceFood is always good and service is right up there. Place was fairly empty, it was a Monday night. But they seated us in Siberia, even though we had made a reservation.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderful. I try andAlways wonderful. I try and eat here every time I come to DC which is once a year. The food has always been very good. I highly recommend the Prime Rib.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary dinner was wonderful !2nd visit to this restaurant and a great chance to "dress up" for dinner ! My wife and I were observing our anniversary. We were greeted by name and our table was ready early in the main piano room. Piano bar will take requests and we tipped the player. Arnold Palmer drink was great ! We had salmon filet, steak filet and split a lobster, and all was prepared to taste. Appearance was perfect and service was exact and on-time with appropriate pauses. Conversation with our server was cordial , informative but not intrusive. Good balance overall and a very nice evening of food, relaxation and quiet conversation with good background music.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA great classic ...This restaurant is a timeless classic; this visit was made extraordinary by an outstanding waiter. The food, as always, was excellent. On my many visits disappoint has been at any aspect of the visit has been rare. Highly recommended, enjoy the live piano!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest steakhouse in DC by farThis was my first time to The Prime Rib. It was simply exceptional. From the initial welcome to the service to the spectacular food, it was one of the best meals you will ever have. My Prime Rib was perfect. My wife's Filet Mignon was spectacular. We also had their Potato Skins which were the best we have ever had. Still talking about that side dish. They have a piano player and we were treated to some singing by the maitre d who is clearly a trained singer. He sang some Broadway songs and was outstanding.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were great!Food and service were great! It is a pricey restaurant so it is recommended for special occasions.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a wonderful lunch andI had a wonderful lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the piano music of Danny Ruskin.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I travel toMy husband and I travel to DC every year and always dine at Prime Rib. The very best steakhouse anywhere!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful dinnerWe had a wonderful dinner at the Prime Rib on Friday night. It is one of our favorite restaurants and is truly a memorable night out. The food for both my husband and myself was perfect and the signature prime rib couldn't have been more tasty or tender. The
ambiance is wonderful and we love the piano and base during dinner. Service is excellent and unobtrusive. Go there.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Wonderful EveningI am a restaurant employee and I have to say, The Prime Rib went to town.
I had made the reservation a few months in advance for our anniversary and my husbands birthday.
We had arrived a few minutes early but they sat us right away. (It was a Wednesday eve)
Our table was a sweetheart table right in front of the piano player!! It was incredible.
Our server was attentive and delightful. He gave us space and was always there when a drink needed refreshing.
We aren't dessert people, but after we declined he brought us out a pecan pie a'la mode.
The owner ended up buying us our last round of cocktails too!!
It was a delightful birthday/anniversary evening.
I will say we were the youngest couple by 20 years, so if you don't like cl4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMTables are very close together.Tables are too close together, but otherwise a great dining experience.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat waiter set the toneGreat waiter set the tone for a terrific meal. The piano & occasional singers added to the already fine ambience. The food was also A rated.
I left somewhat poorer but it was well worth it.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMthe new anniversary spotHmmm.... How can I say all that needs to be said. I was quite excited to visit this restaurant. Went here for my fiancees birthday and I must say I couldn't ask for anything more. our waitor Harvey was a sweet heart who made sure all our needs were meet and that everything was up to part. my fiancee had the chopped steak w/ sauteed spinach n steak fries. I had the chicken piccata
W/ mashed potatoes n corn. we also split a basket of potato skins n lets just say we couldn't wait to go back to our hotel room to finish our left overs... the food is to die for. of course we had dessert there's nothing better than a nice slice of cheese cake and a chocolate fudge sunday... well I guess its no suprise that we plan to go back3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't remember the gentlemanCan't remember the gentleman name serving us but his customer service and intellegence of the services were superb!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMJust loved the food and theJust loved the food and the outstanding service! Took husband for a date.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMClass, Comfort and Great Food!I really enjoyed myself at the Prime Rib. The Ambiance is classy and warm, while I found the entire staff including the Valet's who are responsible for parking the guests vehicles friendly and professional. My companion and I enjoyed two different steaks with blackened shrimp on top, the Prime Rib and the Dry Aged Prime NY Strip. Both were tender, juicy or should I just say cooked to perfection.
The appetizers were simply delicious and notably the sauce for both the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and the Oysters on a half shell. I will definitely visit this establishment again and provide a recommendation to everyone who enjoys delicious food and consummate customer pampering for a comparably fair price.
Simply one of the Best!!!!!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAn exceptional dining experience! As has been the case with every dining experience at The Prime Rib, the food and presentation were excellent, and the service outstanding (but never did it interfere with our conversation). My request beforehand to be seated in a quiet secion of the restaurant was accommodated (there could not have been a better seating choice). As it was my wife's birthday, she received a surprise rendition of "Happy Birthday", sung to her in Italian by a member of the staff. His Baritone voice was excellent, and it was most thoughtful of him to do this. The restaurant's requirement that gentlemen wear jackets after 5:00 p.m. adds to the exclusiveness of the experience, as does the restauarant's staff all wearing tuxedos or jackets.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best as Always....I had lunch with my friend of 67 Years. The food, service and of course Dan Ruskin were outstanding.
We agreed the that Prime Rib is a place were you receive great food and service. Not to be taken for granted.
John always greats us with a smile and a welcome back.
Will return soon,.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic quality. Piano whileClassic quality. Piano while dining. Fresh oysters, large steaks, lobster with crab - all excellent.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAs advertised, The Prime RibAs advertised, The Prime Rib did not disappoint. The surrounds were classic and elegant in appearance and the atmosphere was enhanced by the pianoist melodic soft jazz and contempomary melodies. The food was stellar from the signature potato skin appetizer with three fab sauces, to the succulent New York strip with the to die for accompanying sauce to the decadent cheesecake. Definitely on my revisit list for my next trip to DC.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
