The Prime Rib - Baltimore (The Original)Prime ribGt food and excellent service. Obscenely expensive!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive but worth the moneyVery expensive, but you get what you pay for. Went here with my girlfriend for her birthday, and the food was amazing and the atmosphere was very romantic with very good staff. I tried the roasted tomato soup and the filet, and both were amazing!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Prime Rib never disappoints. The Prime Rib never disappoints. There is not a better steak anywhere (not in NY, Chicago, Houston). I had the filet, which could not have been finer. My wife had a crab cake, which she proclaimed as superior. The Greenberg potato skins are always a great side dish treat. It was a birthday celebration, and the restaurant provided a slice of chocolate mousse cake (with candle). The service was fabulous; the dining room environment is swank, sophisticated and romantic.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic dishes perfectly done.Classic dishes perfectly done. Great service from Nathan. Wonderful evening.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentWe were there Saturday night with a group of 9. Everything, from the food to the drinks and service was excellent. Definitely the best prime rib I have ever had!!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMPrime Rib still great!Consistency, great service, always dependable--that's the original Prime Rib. The wine list has great variety, both in price and in selection. Management obviously emphasizes customer care as a top priority, and it shows in the excellent service. Somehow, this place always seems to be able to be bustling and yet intimate at the same time.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is definitelyThis restaurant is definitely for a special occasion. It is very expensive. The food is good, love the 40's men's club feel. The service was excellent. I would have preferred to sit in the back of the room because the piano was rather loud.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAs to be expectedIt's pricey, but the steak and sides are delicious. Would only go for either a special occasion or with a coupon.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSo SpecialThe Prime Rib is the perfect Restaurant for all occasions. I have never found a fault.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic steak houseThe Prime Rib is a wonderful throwback to the classic steakhouses of the 50's and 60's. Outstanding, well prepared steaks and chops and of course prime rib brought exactly as ordered. The cream spinach and onion rings are not to be missed! A few of the side dishes were a bit of a miss keeps this establishment from getting a full 5-stars. Would be great if they served old style biscuits instead of the loaf of bread that came to the table. Will definitely return here instead of any of the other steak places in Baltimore.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMNothing new here......Has been Baltimore's premier restaurant for years and it hasn't changed a bit. Still the best.....5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't say You Can Never Go BackWe haven't been to The Prime Rib in over 20 years so we decided to give it a shot for our anniversary. From beginning to end it was terrific. Wait service was professional yet friendly. The food, prime rib, was cooked to perfection and the sides were very tasty as well. We splurged a bit on drinks which brought the tab up to the stratusphere but it was all worth it.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great and theThe food was great and the service outstanding. The matre de helped my 85 year old husband out to the car and made sure everything was fine before leaving. Can't say enough good things about them.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for special occasions.Great for special occasions. A bit loud and hard to hear over the happy, celebratory diners!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBaltimore Oasis.Everything was perfect. Our host / server Nathan, made sure everything was great.
From the Oysters Casino to the Apple Pie al la Mode the food was outstanding.
Pricey, but worth it.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNever failsVery pricey and worth it! My almost grown grandchildren always askme for dinner at the PrimeRib for their birthday gift. Have been bringing one for 11 years and he now comes home from college todo this..The meats are so excellent..hard to duplicate at home and a generous number of choices for those who want fish or seafood.Servers experienced andsmooth but not above being gracious tomy table which is obviously not going to be a big ticket group with no drinkers.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat time!Simply delicious and great atmosphere! This is the first time here for 5 of the 7 of us, and we all agree that we will be back!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Slice of Meat EverThe Prime Rib is by far the best restaurant I've ever eaten at, with an awesome ambiance, great service, and amazing food. I plan to go every year for my anniversary.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointedOver and over again, The Prime Rib is an outstanding experience. More of a special occasion restaurant for us due to the price, but worth every penny it to celebrate a special occasion!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Winner! We have been to The Prime Rib on numerous occasions and it remains one of our favorite spots because of the quality of food and service, in addition to the ambiance. It is #1 for a special occasion.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had crab cakes made withWe had crab cakes made with good quality crab cakes, but the filling was heavy on mayonnaise and the vegetables had too much butter and salt. A healthier cooking style would also make the food taste better. Still the setting is nice and the service is impeccable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb food and even betterSuperb food and even better service, a classic restaurant that does not bow to fads but produces standards at a level that is always tremendous. A necessary stop for a special occasion or when you want to stop and smell the roses while enjoying a drink or wine and a good meal prepared and served by a staff that cares.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMonce againBring your wallet, cause it ain't cheap! Everyone was pleased with their food once again. I had the sea bass, was probably the least liked choice of the table, served with a tomato/capers.. which would have been better served over then on the side. 3 people had the Filet Oscar special, which was awesome. Our daughter had the crab cakes, which I really think are some of the best around. My husband had the pork chop, blackened...which was probably the best ever! Oysters rockefellar were as always, great! Creme brulee is some of the best ever.. cheese cake was very good and the bread pudding, WOW! Not an everyday meal and might be one of the most expensive meals you have...but if you can go there... enjoy! Service, is second to none!!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMToo poor to frequentUnless you have money falling from you pores, I would say one come here once a year for an anniversary or birthday. Awesome prime rib though.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFABULOUSI went to the Prime Rib many times during my 20s but have not been there in 30 years (I'm 57 now). It was my son's 25th birthday. He lives in Canton and I wanted him to experience the Prime Rib. He is a steak lover so we went there for a very special dinner. We both ordered the special Filet Mignon topped with crab with asparagus, fresh horseradish on the side with greens. Not only was it as great as I remember it, they treated us like royalty! He felt so special on his birthday and I was so happy to pass on a great Baltimore tradition of dining at the Prime Rib - dining at it's finest! The best thing was that it was as wonderful as I remember it many years ago.
Thanks for living up to and going beyond my expectations!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe entree is very good and costlyThe food was as good as expected. The prime rib steak is consistenly good, but the price has gone up over the years and most would consider it overpriced. One should check the on line menu price before taking a stroll over to the Horizon house. The service is as good as ever4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstanding in all waysthe prime rib is our favorite (special occasion) restaurant, and never fails in providing us with a wonderful dining experience. we start with their delicious cocktails, and proceed to their entrees. we always order our favorites, filet for him, and lobster tail for me. we would highly recommend this restaurant.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMas usual food and serviceas usual food and service were exceptional one of our favorite places to dine4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA Baltimore Fine Dining ClassicI'm glad to have visited the Prime Rib. I've lived in Baltimore most of my life, and remember many of the top restaurants which are no longer here (Pimlico Hotel, Danny's, The Brass Elephant, The Chesapeake Restaurant, Maison Marconi). It's hard to find a restaurant which truly gives a fine dining experience. I worked in the food service industry for over 20 years, and in my opinion, the food, service, and atmosphere make visiting the Prime Rib a must. I think the cost is very practical for the experience. We will be back!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is only one thing toThere is only one thing to say about dining at the Prime Rib. No better what you order, when you leave, you will always know you had a great meal! It never disappoints!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server, Marcus, was outstandingOur server, Marcus, was outstanding. John introduced us to a new bottle of wine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for making our 20th wedding anniversary so special.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent high quality inConsistent high quality in all aspects. This remains our finest steakhouse (despite newer competition).4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is no place like this. There is no place like this. New York 1940-50's ambiance, beautiful jazz music coupled with the best prime rib, steaks, and fish in Baltimore. Absolute perfection.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOther than the noise and crowdedOther than the noise and crowded tables and a slightly irregular serving schedule due, probably to the sold-out room, our experience was fine. The steaks and crab cakes were first rate, the piano player excellent. Rearranging tables might allow for enough space so that servers can get by.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful dinner celebratingHad a wonderful dinner celebrating my fiance's 50th birthday. The ambiance and service were outstanding. The food, as always, incredible! Will try the bar the next time.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise level to be expectedNoise level to be expected when a full house is enjoying themselves. It should not be considered a drawback. Regrettably, your prices do not permit frequent visits, so I make it a special occasion.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMagnificent service--justMagnificent service--just perfect--there but not intrusive--played with our humor--respectful of a "birthday" guest; food was sensational, including the sides....
Wonderful evening.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMthe server was very attentivethe server was very attentive to our needs. food was wonderful - pecan pie to die for. not very private though. tables too close together.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant does everythingThis restaurant does everything well. There is nothing new here. The place would be a great restaurant in the time of the Mad Men. They don't mess with success. I loved the live piano music.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding. SteakFood was outstanding. Steak perfectly prepared at medium rare. Crab Cake was delicious. My wife absolutely loved the Escargots, prepared the only real way they should be..in the shells with incredible garlic butter and broiled in the oven and served with the really good house bread for dipping.
Food is great. Service is equally great. Priced high for any category in the Baltimore area. Would be a more frequent visitor but spending over $200 for two for dinner makes weekly or bi-weekly visits impractical.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is very pricey butThe food is very pricey but the food is delightful. A great place to dine if you can afford it.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSUPERB dining for a special night!GREAT steakhouse! Had reservations but ended up sitting at the bar to be closer to the fantastic Jazz trio! The bartender Dan was very attentive. The host Matt was very cordial and kept checking on us. I was pleasantly surprised that they even carry Boodles Gin....my FAVORITE! VERY few places carry that. Dinner consisted of my other half and I ordering the "normal" size Prime Rib. We got the spinach, mashed potatoes and fried potatoes to share. The normal size rib was HUGE and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is wonderful for a romantic, special occasion out. Not inexpensive...but what GREAT steakhouse is providing such an atmosphere and with live music? Cannot say enough good things about it. Go and treat yourself!!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
