The food was INCREDIBLE. From the risotto balls to the steaks, scallops, mac & cheese, creamed corn, and finally the passion fruit sorbet. What an outstanding meal in every way. Only thing that was a little disappointing, and the restaurant couldn't help this, but there was a regular there with he and his entire family, being decently loud and delaying our and those around us service of our waiter.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at the PrecinctMy wife and I have been meaning to try the Precinct for a few years now, and every time we drive by, we always say, "Oh yeah. We still haven't eaten at the Precinct yet. We should make reservations sometime soon." Well, we finally went for our third anniversary, and it surpassed our expectations. The building has great history, ambience is fantastic, and the food outstanding. Now, we are both meat-eaters, so we each had a fillet. I had the Dusty Baker (best steak I've ever had), and she had the Collinsworth. It is moderately pricey, but you get what you pay for, and then some. The wine list is decent, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was excellent and Rob our waiter could not have been more attentive while not being intrusive. I would highly recommend for a special occasion. Our server Ticky wa great. Only downfall was that the mashed potatoes were room temp. Loved that it isn't ale carte. This was my wife and I’s anniversary and our first trip to this trendy restaurant, we had a nice time. I’m not quite sure the $200.00 tab was worth it. I thought the steak was just so so. The wine, however, was delicious and served perfectly. Our glasses were never less than 1/2 full, the service was consistent but never bothersome. We also ordered the crab cake for an appetizer and that was delicious, although not sure the 4 ounces were quite worth the $17. Still a great treat, and great environment. We even got our picture taken at the end of the evening, and a free print. Not to mention the decor! The arancini caught my eye on the sides menu and had just the right amount of spice in the sauce. The Brandon Phillips (black peppercorn crusted filet) melted in my mouth. This is truly the place to go for celebrations and a magical experience. Very upscale ambiance and a variety of attendants are there to wait on you. We recently celebrated our 30-year wedding anniversary there, as well as college graduation last year. We thoroughly enjoyed our "designer dinners" and appreciated the nice large portions of everything (come very hungry!). Best steaks in town, and Jeff Ruby can even transform macaroni and cheese into a work of art! Make sure you try some!

The salad was tasty with just the right amount of salad dressing on it and the side dish of garlic mashed potatoes was very good. I did get the Dusty Baker for the entrée and it was one of the best steaks I had ever eaten in my entire life. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium and the onion rings on the side gave the dish a little crunch to it. We celebrated a birthday here and received a delicious chocolate mousse with a lit candle on it. Perfect. I admit I had doubts this restaurant could be that good. The Precinct absolutely was worth it. The ambiance was romantic and energetic at the same time, the bar is stunning, the service stellar and the food cooked to perfection! The tastiest steaks we have ever had! Many places either overpower the steaks with too much seasoning or add nothing that enhances the taste. The Precinct got them spot on! The only thing not quite up to snuff was the brandy cream sauce. The sides were wonderful and the desserts ended the meal perfectly. The Food, the Service, Everything was Superb! Our seasoned waiter Tom was Exceptional. He knows the menu back and forth and recommended the Crab Cake and it was the Best I've ever eaten. The Collinsworth steak is the Best steak if you love the Filet Oscar, and my husband swears by the Salmon. You will not be disappointed, no matter what you order. They have so many AMAZING dishes, it will be hard to choose. The seating and ambiance is like no other, and Tom made us feel like we were his only guest. Make sure you make a reservation a few weeks in advance, because you will not get in on a nights notice. The staff is very attentive and knowledgable about their selection. They are very warm and happy to give suggestions. Just wow. My wife and I are still relatively new to the area and we hadn't been out for fine dining since we moved. I had been to The Precinct with work before and had heard from others that the food was excellent so I wanted to take my wife.
For starters the building is an old police station so you feel like you're stepping back in time when you walk in. The bar area was equally as beautiful with a lot to check out.
Our meals were both incredible. We both ordered filets, but they were prepared a little differently. Hands down, best steak I've ever had.

If you're looking for a delicious steak that's cooked just the way you like it and served with what is now my favorite all time salads "The Freddie" then this is the place for you. From the time you're greeted at the front door you'll find yourself with outstanding service.
