Recommend reservations for Brunch.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMReminiscent of Georgia......Great food with that deep-fried Southern touch. A combination of Miss Pitty Pat's Porch in Atlanta and Mrs. Wilke's Boardinghouse in Savannah.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthern cuisine with a CaliforniaSouthern cuisine with a California flair, excellent flavors, variety and service. We went with some out of town friends and everyone enjoyed it.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Porch was WonderfulI was there on business and had time before my flight home.
The food was great, the service outstanding and the experience was relaxed & comfortable.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthern Yummm!I grew up on Southern food and it's all comfort food to me. I love the cheddar grits and BBQ shrimp! My boyfriend always gets the fried chicken. I tried the catfish this time, and I was not dissapointed!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd visit hereThis was a our 2nd visit to the Porch, our first being November 2012. We were very pleased, again, with the quality of the entree selections. Our server recommended the grilled brie as an appetizer, which was delicious with the apricot-cranberry jam. My husband had the flat iron steak and i had a fried chicken salad. My husband enjoyed his steak. It was properly prepared to his request and had a nice smoky flavor. The bleu cheese flavor in the hot potato salad was a bit overpowering on its own, but made a great topping for the steak, so that worked for him. My salad was excellent. I think they change up the ingredients in this salad because I ordered it last time, but it had different toppings this time. I enjoyed it all the same.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst VisitThis was my first time at this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the portions were just right; not more than you needed and enough to full you up.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Bay Area Approves of the PorchRecently had friends in town from the Bay Area (and they work in San Francisco). To find a restaurant for a group of foodies who are used to fine dining is a bit intimidating. However, The Porch came through with flying colors in all areas. A+ on the food, service, ambience and the bar. All through the meal they said how much they were enjoying the place and would visit again! Whew what a sigh of relief, but it happens to be my new favorite restaurant and I was pretty sure it would be a success. Thanks to the The Porch team!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great! My onlyEverything was great! My only critique would be the chicken on the kids plate. One piece was really thin and over cooked. It was pretty inedible.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMonday night brunch...BrisketMonday night brunch...Brisket and Biscuits was one of the greatest things I have ever eaten!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPorch experienceIn the reservation I mentioned I was celebrating someone's graduation. Had never been so I wasn't sure about it. The food and service turned out to be great! She loved it! Nuf said.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthern Hospitality in MidtownThis was our 1st visit to The Porch, I'm always up for an adventure, so because it was Mother's Day, I had the pick of the draw for restaurants in mid-town Sacramento, I chose wisely. We had a lovely waitress, she recommended the brisket & biscuits, my meal was PERFECT! We had a leisurely brunch and walked the waterway in Old Town, it was a perfect day!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great Mother's Day brunchHad a great Mother's Day brunch at the Porch. Service was excellent. My mom is from the south so it's great to see low country food taken to the next level.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEnhanced southern foodGourmet Southern food....fried green tomatoes, chicken and waffles...etc each with a little twist! We are from Texas and Mississippi and would go back. A little pricey and I would add some spice...but overall, very good!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Southern Comfort FoodsWent for Mothers Day had three generations and everyone of us enjoyed what each one ordered and even shared everything we got was so tasty. The service was great and the decore and settings very welcoming. Had a great and we are going back again as the menu changes so it will be a new experience every time we go. Awesome.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect dinner on the Porch!Except for a couple of dishes please be prepared to enjoy some high calorie southern food. We did have the shrimp with cheese grits which satisfied this low carb gal. The kids fried chicken was to die for as well as the fried okra and biscuits. So great was the service!!! Our server, had the best smile!. Coming back to this downtown eatery.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMawesome birthday celebrationI made my online reservation and gave instruction on what I would like upon arrival of my mom and The Porch was ah-mazing! I am so impressed. They provided the best service and most delicious food. The buttermilk fried chicken was ridiculously good. Never ever have I had such fantastic honey butter. Great cocktails and the MAC N' CHEESE, can we say hello just five more times.
I will be back asap to The Porch. Prices are high but well worth the cost. I would not bring kids here because the food is a bit expensive. Also, the entire experience says adults-only. But, everyone was nice and accomadating. Even down to the two bar tenders that made our drinks so that the other person would not have to wait! Love Love LOVE THE PORCH.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulousWe go every year here to The Porch. Their staff is so friendly and it exudes southern hospitality. The food is excellent. The menu changes everyday. Upon asking for something I usually order that wasn't on the menu, they were willing to accommodate me. What a nice atmosphere!! It definitely feels like your out in the country on a porch drinking juleps.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThe Porch is one of Sacramento's best restaurants. They treated my friend and I fabulously and for her birthday, we received personalized menus with her name at the top with birthday wishes and a memorable skillet cookie, compliments of the house. Oh, that skillet cookie....served hot, with chocolate sauce and pecans and blueberries and house-made buttermilk ice cream... Its worth a return trip just for that. The grilled cheese sandwich is ridiculously good, as are the sweet potato fries and the house-made ketchup. On a previous trip here I had the fried green tomatoes and fried chicken and grilled brie...everything is worth recommending. Its located on a cute and quiet block of K St. Just go.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal SacramentanI'd be surprised if you were disappointed in a night out here. The neighborhood is fun to walk around, too, if you want to walk off some calories.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMcomfort food gemThe menu was delicious southern comfort foods with an updated twist. We had the bbq shrimp & grits, the short ribs, cornbread, greens & fried green tomatoes. All very tasty. The bar selection of signature cocktails & bourbons was impressive. The food & drink service was a little slow, especially since it wasn't super busy when we arrived, but Stephanie, our server made up for it by being very friendly, conversant & checking in often.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great, as wasThe food was great, as was the service - I took my friend there for his birthday, they even printed "happy birthday" with his name at the top of the menu! Nice find!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place to go with friends,Nice place to go with friends, a little too noisy for intimate occasions.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMa perfect place for birthdaya perfect place for birthday dinners and overall. We scraped our plates clean!!
A lovely night to have The Porch serve it on, too. It was quiet, guests are not as crazy as they are by the weekend, and people were chatting and just enjoying! I had Bbq'd Shrimp on a bed of Cheddar Polenta. Divine, melt in your mouth divine! My husband couldn't talk while he devoured his Crab Cakes Benedict. Can u just smell it!
Wine was wonderful. I had the house red, and it was a fabulous choice!
I will return again and again!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at The Porch---lovedFirst time at The Porch---loved it. The dishes were all excellant and the portions where very generous.

Great food, great waiter, great time.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDO YOU WANT TO AWAKEN YOUR PALATE..The food was so unbelievable. It took awhile because is was so very busy for the best Easter Brunch ever. The waitress was so very friendly she took time to speak to us about and answer questions about their menu overall. She stated that their menu changes all the time. They are ALWAYS new things. There is a happy hour available here as well that we want to go and experience as well.
IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND FANTASTIC FOOD!!!!!!!!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a review of an EasterThis is a review of an Easter brunch. The kitchen was overwhelmed, leading to excessive delays in food service. The Porch was aware of the problem, and had spaced out reservations so there was little wait for our table, and provided some mini-muffins to ease the hunger pangs. The food was almost worth the extra wait. The waiter noted to us this is a problem on most Sunday mornings, and suggested the Saturday morning brunch or dinner for a more enjoyable experience.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMComfort food for the soulWe love this place! The food is wonderful as is the service and ambiance. People look happy. That's a good sign!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our Easter BrunchWe enjoyed our Easter Brunch at "The Porch". It was some place new for us and the menu looked like something we would enjoy. It was right, we did enjoy our breakfast. I'm looking forward to going back at dinner time and find out what else is good.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways looking for a reason to goMy husband and I have been back to The Porch a number of times. I am a fan of the BBQ grits with shrimp. The menu has some frequent changes, but you can always find a new favorite. The staff is friendly, but service is not quick. They are welcoming to kids and have a suitable menu for them. The ambiance is very comfortable. The room is split into three sections: bar and high tables, tables that can seat up to six, and a back area for larger groups. Previous reviews have mentioned how the service slows when there are a lot of people, such as a holiday. I have found this to be true for Easter brunch. The restaurant is at its best when it is less crowded.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff were very friendlyThe staff were very friendly and knowlegable. We had our 7 year old daughter with us and I appreciated the kid menu and how nice our server was to her. The portions for the kids meal were huge. If I could order it for myself, it would be the perfect size! The red velvet brownie dessert is AH-A-MAZING!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great brunch SaturdayHad a great brunch Saturday with family. Our waiter Garrett was awesome - very friendly, helpful and good with the kids. Food was excellent - I had the Avocado Scramble and would recommend it! Cute décor inside, very pleasant staff. Can't wait to try it out for dinner!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMCute place, quaint atmosphere,Cute place, quaint atmosphere, good menu to choose from, accommodating with requests, attentive and friendly service.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA Sumptuous, Classy ExperienceThe menu selection has something for everyone; and, like any good restaurant, offers locally grown and organic foods - their flavors are incredible! I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken which came with my choice of 2 sides. I chose the cheesy grits and fried okra. This was an overwhelmingly flavorful dinner. Their beverage list is also outstanding! We ordered their Whiskey Sour Punch for 4 that was served in a glass punch bowl and ladled into small glass punch glasses. Serving your own drinks from a punch bowl at your table was a special treat. It set a tone. Later we tried their Flights of Whiskey. We ordered 2. For only $11 per Flight (3 3/4 shots in each), we were able to taste 6 of their best whiskeys from their selected whiskey list.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place that never disappointsGreat place that never disappoints when I am in Sacramento. Always great food!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMcompletely unique sweet gemFun little gem! Classy southern food with a twist. It is definatly a restaurant one of a kind. Only negative is we went for dinner and everything was sweet. Sweet buttermilk chicked, sweet sausage, sweet mashed potatoes and gravey. Had a blueberry lemonade cocktail and sweet tea. Both were excellent. Quick friendly service. Will have to go back to try breakfast one day.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Porch certainly met ourThe Porch certainly met our expectations. The food was excellent, as well as the service. Only one negative: our waitress informed us that they were bringing a special dessert to the table, as it was my husband's birthday. When we received the bill later, there was a charge for the dessert. I don't think it is typical in any restaurant to bring food to the table, not ordered by the customer, and then charge them. Everything was so wonderful though, I decided not to mention it.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIntriguing Southern menu.Intriguing Southern menu. My wife and I enjoyed the fried chicken (and we typically do not eat fried foods) and the sides were excellent...maple mashed sweet potatoes, ocra, collared greens. Large portions and would suggest going light on appetizers and small on salads. Service was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to going back and exploring the menu further.1/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
