Diner Reviews
  • "We dined here early one night with our two young kids and while it is definitely an adult restaurant the staff was very polite and easy going and made great recommendations for choices our kids would enjoy. It was a very delightful experience."

  • "Nice neighborhood , excellent clam chowder , halibut was good "

  • "Food good, but being stuck on the porch with a noisy drunken group ruined the evening. Not much help from the restaurant staff either; felt they could have handled things much better."

  • "It was a great location. Food was to die for and service was good. I would definitely come back when I'm back in Ptown. "

  • "We had a wonderful dinner at the Pointe. The Dijon cream mussels are the best mussels we have ever had. We both had the sautéed Cape halibut with English pea sauce, corn risotto, and a side of roasted asparagus. For dessert we had fresh raspberry sorbet. Everything was so delicious. We sat on the porch with a nice view of Pilgrim monument. Our server Christina was excellent and very welcoming. We love the Pointe and look forward to returning soon. Since my husband is a diabetic, it's so nice that the Pointe has a dessert, raspberry sorbet with no sugar added. Very few restaurants have no sugar added desserts."

  • "5 of us had fabulous meals in the lovely dining room at thus beautiful inn. The ambiance was lovely, and the service was terrific. Coconut shrimp and also mozzarella on crostini apps were nicely done. The Lobster Gnocchi dinner is highly recommended, as was the short ribs special. We wil be back! "

  • "Great service. Great food. The attendant was very knowledgeable with their wine list. It was a perfect dinner over all."

  • "This restaurant fell way short of expectations. The staff were friendly and willing, but needed more training. Food was below average and not good value for the money."

  • "There is nothing more I can say about The Pointe It is consistently wonderful in every respect - thats why it is my top restaurant in Provincetown."

  • "We have been coming here for our anniversary for 5 years now, ever since stumbling on this restaurant on our wedding night. Highlights continue to remain the "famous clam chowder" (we liked it so much, we came back and had it again, 2 nights later!) and the lobster gnocchi. The wine menu is extensive, as is the menu of entrees. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is lovely. Sit near the gas-powered fireplace for some warmth and charm on a cool spring evening, or out on the enclosed porch, if you want it a bit more private. The wait staff is knowledgeable about the dishes and can make suggestions if you find it difficult to choose. We continue to make this the first place we have dinner whenever we visit Provincetown. "

  • "The atmosphere/view is the best thing the Point restaurant has going for it. My party of four was not impressed by the food nor the service. Two filet mignons came out way overdone, a hamburger that was ordered well done came out red, and the chicken in a pasta dish had a consistency of rubber. Add that to the fact that it took way too long for us to get our food and waters were never refilled and you can probably guess the kind of experience we had. The waitress was not attentive and the management was more focused on turning tables than the needs of the people currently dining."

  • "We had the pleasure of dining at the Pointe Restaurant this week and had a lovely time. They have a terrific wine list and all the food is prepared with care, presented nicely, and is delicious. Service is attentive but not intrusive. The only thing that I would change is the "Exploding chocolate cake", which we expected to be a warm molten chocolate dessert. Instead, this wasn't served quite warm enough to liquify the yummy chocolate center. It tasted great, but just wasn't quite right."

  • "We needed a break before a Magic Convention was beginning and we were working, so we chose a stay at the Crowne Point Historic Inn. We read the reviews of the Pointe and decided to give it a try. We are glad we did, from the excellent service of our waiter David (you remember the name when they are exceptional), to the ambiance, and great food, we were more than pleased and so glad we chose the Point to dine at for dinner. Breakfast the next morning was another treat, we also made a point of speaking to the chefs on both occasions, just wonderful. We will return, and will recommend to all our friends headed that way. Five star."

  • "My girlfriend and I visited The Pointe Restaurant for our 2 year anniversary dinner. This was our first time on the cape and were only there for an extended weekend. I scheduled a reservation here, based on the reviews of the restaurants in the area, and we enjoyed our dining experience together. The service was outstanding, the menu was a bit limited, but there were plenty of choices that both of us wanted to eat. We got a table in the outdoor seating area, which was a calm section with maybe 4 or 5 small tables arranged on the enclosed 'outdoor' area. If I had to do it over, I may have selected another restaurant which is closer to the water / has a bay/ocean view. Overall I would say it was a great experience and we would go there again!"

  • "We dined on the glassed in veranda - lovely view of the lighted Pilgrim Tower . The food was excellent, served promptly and courteously. Clam chowder was delicious, as was the goat cheese and beet salad. Lamb chops were cooked exactly as requested. Dessert offerings were amazing, all shown on an iPad prior to ordering."

  • "This is a small, intimate resturant in the lower level of a hotel. There's an enclosed porch overlooking Bradofrd street, with a view down the hill toward the base of the monument. There was a lovely italian prefix three course dinner for only 15.95. Had the fried calamari (light, tender, perfect), and the ciopino (delicious, with mussels, salmon and cod). Service was courteous and swift. I suspect the ambience is a little different at peak season (we went in mid-March), but would highly reccomend it."

  • "Nice neighborhood spot set inside the inn. Great menu selections and Wednesday happened to be 2 for 1entrees. The service was great with the handheld tablet to display the specials and he was extremely knowledgeable about his craft."

  • "We had the pleasure of spending New Year's Eve at The Pointe. There were two seatings for dinner, we had a reservation for the earlier seating. We were greeted warmly by our hostess Michelle and our server Julius, took very good care of us. Our meal was very good, with this exception. My fish entrée was a little under done and my wife's entrée was a little overdone. It wasn't so bad that we couldn't enjoy the meal and we informed our server. He took steps to fix the problem, so all was good. Overall we had a lovely evening and we would definitely dine here again!"

  • "We had a wonderful experience at The Pointe. The Staff, Michelle, Sean, Chantelle and David, were very nice and friendly. We arrived a bit early and got seated right away at the table we requested, by the window, via OpenTable. The view of the lit Pilgrim Monument was very romantic. We shared the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. Then I had the lamb and my guest had the lobster gnocchi. Everything was cooked to perfection. I love Malbec and that went very well with the lamb. The fireplace inside brings you back in time, cozy and soothing. I will definitely recommend The Pointe to my friends."

  • "The Pointe was a last minute decision at the end of a rainy dreary day. The food was excellent and presented beautifully. We tried specialty cocktails and were tastefully surprised. Parmesan Risotto, Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, Roasted Asparagus, Chicken Tagliatelle Pasta all were delicious and sufficient. Our waitress had a great rapport with all the patrons on the porch that night and there was even a little communal talk about babies and breastfeeding!! She was very helpful describing foods to us. We had an enjoyable dinner and would definitely return next visit to P-town."

  • "We went to The Pointe Restaurant on Sunday for the Italian night special and we're not disappointed. A steal at only $15.95 for a salad app and pasta main. Wine list was extensive and service was very friendly but not overbearing. Great little place with a fireplace to warm you up with a great view of the Pilgrim Monument. This is our new 'go to spot' this winter."

  • "As always, the Pointe has amazing food. 7:30 seating. The special Lobster Mac n cheese was amazing. The Steak Frites was outstanding. Having been cooked medium, it was amazingly tender and juicy. The service was a rare off-night. Asked our greeter for water with lemon. Didn't produce. Our service started with Anthony and then Michael. Had to ask Michael for lemon which he then brought. He seemed quite the energetic fellow, bouncing here and there. Maybe because it was the buy one entree, second one free night. Regardless, the Pointe is amazing as is the Crowne Pointe."

  • "We came here the night I got engaged to my girlfriend, and it was absolutely perfect. They congratulated us and gave us a glass of champagne, then the real fun started.... the food. The lobster Mac & cheese was perfect- a nice light cheese, not the heavy gross chunky stuff, with a generous portion of lobster. Then even better - a two pound lobster! Perfectly cleaned and presented, and unbelievably fresh. Don't miss out! If you are in Provincetown, come to this restaurant."

  • "I drove/walked by this restaurant for years and FINALLY went in for dinner. It was DELICIOUS! The view of the monument was awesome at night on the porch, and the menu was wonderful! I will surely be going back next time I'm in Ptown!"

  • "Second time coming here. Always great service and food. The enclosed deck was a little too warm and we had to move inside. But food was great"

  • "I have been going to my time share at Provincetown for 0ver 30 years and usually go to dinner once or twice during my week. I always go to Front Street and Napis and am never disappointed but this year my friend Ann and I wanted to try a new place. We look at the reviews on Open Table and decided that The pointe was the one to Try. We were not disappointed by the point and have a great meal with a great waiter and a wonderful view of the Pilgrim monument. The only problem that I have is now when I come again next year I have to make tough decisions about which of the 3 not to go to, maybe we will dine out 3 times instead of twice..."

  • "I loved the ipad presentation of food. I had the lobster gnocchi....delicious Loved the way the calamari was cut...nice small circles Husband had the tuna tartare....great presentation of it and ALL the foods And the deserts were to die for as was the coffee. Once we tried it we came back and will be back again next year. Keep up the great work. P.S. servers were great. And thank the chefs for us. Mary"

  • "The Pointe has become one of my favorite restaurants in P'town. The service is friendly without being cloying. The food is well prepared and unpretentious. I enjoyed 2 delicious Margaritas instead of wine with my dinner this time. & though the prices are reasonable, because it's basically a la carte, the tab winds up being high, making this a special occasion venue."

  • "This place is nothing to write home about. Nearly everything was mediocre. The relative quiet was the only good part."
    Dined on 9/21/2013
  • "After reading all these raves, we were looking forward to this place. All was good - maybe some were even very good. But overall I still found it a bit bland and dated. Red wine list had mainly entry level reds - fairly priced and good, but nothing to make this a destination for those who want a great wine with dinner. Space between the tables a plus."

  • "Tuna tartare was great. Lobster mac and cheese was a little small and really good but not great; it was competitively priced. There was a miscommunication regarding what specials were available. This left a bad taste in my wife's mouth; otherwise, this review likely would have been better."

  • "As always, the Pointe was fantastic. This is really one of the true gems of Provincetown that is not in the center of town. Located in the beautiful Crowne Pointe resort this is NOT your typical "hotel restaurant". The ambience is fantastic affording magnificent views of the Pilgrim Monument. The food is what you would expect from some of the finest restaurants in Boston, New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles. The service is impeccable with great casual waitstaff who are always ready and willing to make wonderful suggestions...even "cautiously" steering people away from certain offerings (a good thing in my opinion). As "locals" this is one of our favorite venues...sometimes overlooked by others which means we are always able to get in!!"

  • "Off the Commercial St. crazyness, the current incarnation of The Pointe is an excellent choice for a quiet fine-dining option in P-town. Food was so well prepared, not fussy, and nicely plated. Service was knowledgeable and professional, wines well priced. It was off-season, so not terribly busy; we were in and out in an hour, but didn't have dessert. Definitely recommended, but we understand that there is often turnover of chef's so we don't know how long this review will be meaningful/"
