The Plumed HorseThe food & service was amazingThe food & service was amazing but the meal took longer than we would have liked.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a first visit toThis was a first visit to the Plumed Horse in Saratoga, Ca. We both enjoyed the restaurant very much and will certainly look forward to another visit. Unfortunately, it was a long drive, over 60 miles from where we live, but we will certainly keep this restaurant in mind for a special occasion.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing DinnerI had a tasting menu last saturday. From the start to the end, everything was impressive. Although I feel that the cost was high, it was worth having that experience.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but no ManresaBy far the best part of this place is the wine list, amazing cellar, great bar too. Dining room is beautiful and romantic. Food for the price is not as good as it should be, similar price to Manresa and food is no where even close.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time's a charmWe celebrated my daughter's 31st birthday at the Plumed Horse last Tuesday. Four of us ordered the Tasting Menu. We loved everything about our experience: the food was extremely tasty and in correct, modest portions. The dinner was spaced out to give us time to enjoy one another's company throughout the meal. The ambience was classy and elegant. An excellent way to celebrate a special occasion.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery upscale, yet relaxingWe went for a birthday dinner, and were very impressed by the décor, ambience, food, and service. We had a selection of oysters and kampachi sashimi for starters. The chef also sent a complementary hors d'oeuvre plate with a selection of delectable treats. The wine list was notable, and we ended up with a delicious Ramey Chardonnay. We had Petrale sole and rib eye as our entrees, and both were prepared to perfection. The service was impeccable as well. I've been to very upscale restaurants that seem very stuffy, but the Plumed Horse was definitely very friendly and relaxing, and everyone from the hostess to the bussers were very friendly and attentive.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AManniversary dinnerWe had a wonderfull dining experience. My wife and I had different appetizers, both were excellent, redolent with flavor and well presented. We also had different entres . I had hay smoked ribeye, my wife the sole. Both were delicious! The presentation of all courses was very interesting. A well dressed server put the plates on the table then another individual quickly explained to each of us exactly what was being served, this enhanced the dining experience. The wine steward was knowledgeable, friendly and picked out a sweeter champagne as requested. Casual dress is out of place here. This is not an inexpensive place to dine, but you certainly get what you want from fine dining! We will assuredly go back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchWe came for the prix fixe brunch on Mother's Day. It was enjoyable and we liked our table. It was a little silly that the kids menu didn't come with any soup or salad so our daughter had to sit without any food while our first two courses were served. All in all it was a nice meal. A little salty but enjoyable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful overall experienceThis is my top favorite restaurant ever.... Really good food and most important of all wonderful service. They go out of the way to accommodate us, no matter who you are, you will feel you are important...
Definitely a must try...4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMit may be expensive, but itit may be expensive, but it is worth every cent. excellent food and a great wine list. topped by exceptional service.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA beautiful restaurant andA beautiful restaurant and the food was wonderful. An excepional place for a special occasion.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery expensive...but SO worthVery expensive...but SO worth it, after major remodel, super service, great chef, has become our favorite for special occasions.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest dinning experience ofBest dinning experience of my life. The food cooked by Andrew and the service provided by Julia was one that will never be forgotten.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible food. Julia, ourIncredible food. Julia, our server, was amazing and "just right." Wow factor: HIGH.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have not been to the PlumedWe have not been to the Plumed Horse in probably about 10yrs. Had no idea how much the restaurant has changed. A beautiful remodel, food was exceptional and service was impeccable. We had a PERFECT dining experience.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is Saturday night and 720pm...It is Saturday night and 720pm... I appreciate that some folks like to dine in the bar area, but it shouldn't have taken 15 minutes for a cocktail waitress to take an order for a pre-dinner drink. The food was good--the antelope divine, but it just wasn't one of those meals that left me wanting to come back. The service was phenomenal in the dining room [the four stars are because of the bar service]. I just think that for the prices the food should be more memorable than it is.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, great forVery good food, great for a special occasion (I took my wife for her birthday) but expensive. Very quite, so you can talk with your friends.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMPlumed Horse is an excellentPlumed Horse is an excellent special-occasion restaurant. Have been there 3 times now, and in each case, it is the service that takes it to the next level. This time was no exception. The food is also appropriately interesting and beautifully presented. This time, I was surprisingly disappointed with the wine choices I made. Not the restaurant's fault, but definitely impacted what could have been a stellar evening.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe parmesan souffle was definitelyThe parmesan souffle was definitely good and deserves the praises. The bacon wrapped black cod was also excellent. We also liked the tuna tare tare. Overall we felt the other entrees from the tasting menu (sturgeon, kobe beef) were ok, and that the chef shone much better through the seafood dishes. I appreciated the surprise foie and thought it had an interesting contrast of flavors.
Good service throughout, and very accommodating to helping us make wine choices for only a few glasses. My wife really liked the PX sherry recommended with the cheese, although we ended up not taking a full glass.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful night at the Plumed HorseVery special dining experience, and quite a bit of fun as the chef provides very nice tastes of special creations throughout the evening. Perfect evening to celebrate my wife's birthday.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA memorable dining experience.A memorable dining experience. The food was delicious and gourmet, but the staff and restaurant was not at all pretentious. A pleasure for the pickiest foodies.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom a vegetarian perspectivePick your own wine from the wine list, the pairing was not particularly amazing, but maybe it was my fault for ruling out cabs. One of the better vegetarian tasting menus around this area. Navio in half moon bay has a great one too. loved the 3 course desert. The bar and cellar are cool, but not much interest to the rest of the decor. My husband loves this restaurant so we've been doing anniversary dinners there. Manresa had a downright disappointing vegetarian tasting menu. Sent Sovi is another of my local favorites.3/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
