The Plough and the StarsStill StellarI haven't been here in a LONG time, practically since it first opened. My cousin was in town last night and he was staying in the Old City area so I figured why not see how the place is doing. I actually think it's better now then when it first opened (and I loved it when it first opened.).
The service was great, very friendly. Out waitress did get busy some times but was always apologetic about not "paying enough attention" even though we hadn't noticed. The food was great and the prices were fantastic!
I wouldn't hesitate to come back and the more the merrier if you ask me. The place is just designed for a fun night with a big group.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice locationGreat location for the many other attractions in Philly great food pleasant atmosphere and good service6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistency Rules!I think this was my fifth or sixth time at The Plough & Stars. The service is always great, and our waitress Kelly was exceptional. We informed her that we needed to get in and out quickly, and she recommended entrees that the kitchen could process quickly. Not only did the food come out fast, but it was very tasty (we both had the lamb kebab). Thjis is now our "go to" restaurant when we're seeing movies at the Ritz East or Ritz V theaters.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorite restaurantsOne of my favorite restaurants in Philly. Great beer list, fresh food, reasonably priced, fun ambiance. Soda bread is best I've ever had. Love the half & half beer (Guinness/Harp) and Irish Coffee. My only request is that the bar menu options be added to the restaurant menu as I love the bar munchies but prefer sitting upstairs.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for a friend's birthdayWe went for a friend's birthday and it was the best fit :) The band that was playing when we got there was phenomenal and our waitress and food was outstanding! :) Our Sangria was the best we had in awhile! Excellent food and atmosphere!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMCharacter and funWe had a group of 7 on a weeknight and were well taken care of. The place had a lot of neat character and looked like a lot of fun. I imagine weekends are busier, noisier, and more lively, but we enjoyed our quiet evening dinner. The service was exceptionally friendly and the food was quite good.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a party of eight and wasHad a party of eight and was well taken care of.......would go back again.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is one ofThis restaurant is one of the best values in the city.
