The food was great. Started with the Naan appetizer - not really naan, but a nice Mediterranean plate of squash, garlic and cool yogurt dip all the same. I originally ordered the Gnocchi, but they were out, so I had the crispy chicken. It was very moist and cooked to perfection. The collard greens with ham that accompanied it was a tad salty, but an interesting side. Dessert was great- a nice omage to the seasonal palasade peaches. I'd go back to try somthing else off the menu, but Id ask for a table away from the door. Also, in regards to ambiance I wish they would have put in a few booths, put some art on the wall, and dimmed the lighting. It feels like a lunch place trying to make it as a dinner place.

We had been hearing rave reviews from our friends about Plimoth so we decided to see for ourselves what was so great. From the minute you walk in and are greeted so warmly, till your last delicious bite, it is a very fulfilling experience. Our server was genuinely excited about the food and was very descriptive. The place is very small and you sit close to other tables, so we could see gorgeous plates leaving the kitchen and hear the people around us raving about how phenomenal their meals were. The menu changes so I'm not going to recommend anything in particular, but just tell you that whatever you order when you go will be delicious, and when you are walking out the door, you will already have ideas about what to order "next time."

I wanted to love the place but I left somewhat disappointed. The place is bright and comfortable, but the food didn't live up to expectations. The highlight was a melon and cucumber salad that was light and refreshing and I would highly recommend that. For an entree I had a redfish that was a little over cooked and over salted. It was served on top of a mix of greens and ham, which was also salty. There was a kind of ragout around it all that was tasty but almost too overwhelming. One of my dinner companions had chicken, which was salty, although the succotash served with it had a nice flavor. We shared a peach cobbler for dessert that was more crust than peaches and the peaches were overly sweetened. I was disappointed.

The Plimouth is a really interesting, high quality restaurant. Interesting menu featuring local and seasonal ingredients prepared cleverly and creatively. The waitstaff is a little "too cool for school" - probably reading their reviews too much - it's not them that makes the restaurant it's the chef and the menu.

Though a little difficult to locate it was worth the effort. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. The fall succotash was especially good and so was the bacon jam for the chicken. Though more typical of newer establishments we found the noise level too high to carry a conversation with our dinner companions. I don't understand why so many restaurants find a high noise level attractive. If I wanted a bar like atmosphere that is where I would go. We dining on fine food with friends I would prefer being able to hear them. It was not easy even hearing the wait staff. High noise level diminishes the experience. The food however was delicious and the prices were reasonable. We are glad to have had that part of the experience.

We couldn't hear each other across our small "four-top". Everything else was wonderful; food, service and wine list. If you're young with intact hearing it's probably OK. Otherwise, I'd wait until they have softened up the interior surfaces.

We have been wanting to have dinner at The Plimoth since it opened, especially after hearing our friends rave about it. We were finally able to score a reservation for Aug. 30 and must say it was definitely worth the wait! This is a happy restaurant ... you can see it in the faces of the employees, and chef's love of cooking certainly shines through in everything that comes out of his kitchen. I suppose there are some who will be put off by the neighborhood, but it didn't bother us at all. We can't wait to go back again.

This restaurant's front blends well into the neighborhood until you step inside. A new world unfolds with aromatic smells, fine wine, knowledgeable staff and of course, the food. The fresh ingredients were prevalent throughout the meal as well in the dessert. All the sauces and spreads were tastefully executed for each dish. There were no complaints coming from our table!!! I also liked how they were able preserved some of the old drugstore that once stood there and the use of the track ties in the restaurant decor.

This was the first time my wife and I had a date in a long time. I've read a number of places to go, and this one had some great reviews. It's a little corner restaurant, with an outdoor patio, and their own garden. We had two starters that were amazing with very friendly & knowledgable wait staff. My wife had the pork tenderloin, and I the steak. Both were amazing, and would be ordered again. The chiefs prepared the food with an open kitchen to watch if wanted. from what I've been told the menu will change every 4-6 weeks which makes it an exciting place to come back to. Hoping for some kind of Scallops or Risotto next time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Cost: We spent about $80 which may be a little high but would totally do it again.

Unbelievable food! The prices very reasonable. The wait staff was knowledgable and made you feel so welcomed. It was such a nice experience, that you felt like you were the guest of honor. It was so comfortable as if you were dining at a friend's home. From starters to the finish with desserts the food was fantastic! Great pairings of wines, beers with different courses. We were a group of four and decided to share everything and had different beverages with each plate. SO FUN!!!

The food, as always, was absolutely amazing. The tomato and bread salad was fresh, vibrant, and oh so tasty. Typically, I don't like eggplant or baba ghanoush, but Pete made it magical as a base to the salad. The liver pate on baguette was creamy and light and oh so tasty. And the roasted eggplant (ohmigod, yes, another eggplant dish!) and squash with yogurt was my favorite dish of the night. Oh so tasty! Pete and Adam continue to amaze me and my friends every time we go. This place is not to be missed. I just wish there were more outside tables. There's plenty of room out there for more tables, so I'm hoping they'll remedy that soon.

Our dinner experience at the Plimoth was amazing. Simple ingredients prepared perfectly. The service was attentive but not over done, the flavors were bright, fresh and yet complex.....perfect for a summer evening. The wine list is a nice combination of imports and domestic offerings and also a good mix of the familiar and the unusual. We eat out often but this meal is a standard of greatness.

You must love fresh ingredients and a place that will surprise you with flavor combinations. It was lovely. I panicked after waiting 2 weeks for this reservation to find that the noise level was so extreme inside that you couldn't have a conversation with the person you were with. Luckily we were able to be seated on the patio for a calm and delicious meal. Our waiter was knowledgeable, professional and friendly without being chummy. This definitely will be a favorite on our list.

Always happy to see a high end spot close to Park Hill, the Plimoth was worth the challenge to get a reservation. The greeting at the front was very welcoming, and the restaurant was packed at 7pm. I wish they would have more room at the bar to have a drink first, but they got us to the table quickly. The only downside was they seemed to need another waiter and bartender as each drink I asked for took a long time. Once I got them they were great. And the food was the best part. Everything we had was very good - and somewhat different than other restaurants. We would definitely go back.

The Plimoth is understandably a hot spot--resies are made well in advance and by 5:30 the place is full. And the food can be exquisite--raw turnips and squash with garlic naan and a great dipping sauce, the famous gratin, the pates, recently an excellent italian bread salad with heirlooms. But based on our three visits the entrees could be better, characterized by overdressed or misplaced greens seemingly placed on every dish and sides that do not match the quality of the proteins. If the mains met the starters quality, then all of the high hopes and potential could be realized.

Service was atttentive without imposing.....and the one thing I would caution is VOLUME.....if you are hearing sensitive at all.....try outdoors, better there....but inside is nasty noisy.

We had a later booking and a couple of us were still running late. Adam and his staff were so accommodating and made sure we had drinks and snacks while we waited for the rest of our party. The food was exceptional; thoughtful, well balanced and superbly executed. We had 4 different bottles from what I would consider a very boutique style wine list. Started with a Rose sparkler, a quick and easy white as we moved into our salads, a Rhone with dinner and finished with a bottle on Pinot Noir. Oh, can't forget the round of Fernet. This is truly a wonderful addition to the City Park north area and sets a high mark for others to hit as this area grows in popularity.

This was our first time at Plimoth and what an experience. From the bottle of wine recommended by our lovely waiter and the tasty pork rillette starter, to our main courses that left us both licking our plate. The gnocchi was made for the gods and the pork tendloin was wonderfully intricate and supremely tasty. It was a dining experience that took us back to our honeymoon in Paris. Romantic and sinfully delicious. And while it's not cheap, it is cheaper than flying to Paris to get a dining experience this amazing. Worth every dollar.

The food is not inexpensive, the service does not set speed records but, after two meals here, I can say the quality of the meals and the skill of the wait staff are top notch.
