In addition to good food in a dramatic and convenient setting, you will find here the MOST friendly, prompt, and effective service I've run into lately. Every server went out of her/his way to ensure that I had everything needed, both when I was there solo and with groups of 4 and 10. I had a mini-family reunion on one occasion, and it was perfect.

Unfortunately, that's about all the good I can say about it. Went before a sold out show, so parking and traffic were heavy. We valet parked, which was free if eating at the Plaza Restaurant. Short walk to/from the show. Car was waiting out front after. I'm sure that saved us 20-30 minutes before and after. The restaurant though, seems like an after-thought. Service was slow. My Martini glass was dirty with dishwasher spots. The wine list was unimpressive, and they served a decent red in a small, stemmed glass, filled to the brim. I had the surf and turf, which was grilled shrimp (two small that I'm not sure were grilled) and a small, tasteless piece of filet. In summary, it doesn't seem like they are trying very hard...

Our party of four ate here before going to Ohio Theater. Great location and we sat by the window overlooking fountain. Isiah was our server and had a wonderful personality. In fact, the entire staff was very friendly. Crap cake appetizer was very tasty and surf-n-turf had a good mix of flavors. They could use better steak knives. Cookie brulee and pyramid cake deserts ended the meal on a very sweet note! We had a very relaxing and non-rushed dining experience.

Hardly anyone there, but still service was slow. Took a long time to place our orders, receive our food, get the bill, etc. My salmon was not bad, but not as described in the menu. My daughter's chicken Caesar salad was very bland, not much chicken or parmesan cheese, and no croutons--when we asked about croutons, we were told they no longer serve it that way and were brought s slice of "crostini" that looked just like the house bread. View was nice, valet parking was free, but it took us nearly a half hour to get our car back after dinner. Will not be returning.

A little too expensive for the variety of food (and given that we were there an hour before they started breaking down the food tables and the desserts were basically gone)... also a 21% gratuity on a large bill for a server who simply refills drinks and clears tables is a bit much. It was a nice experience, but doubtful to return for another buffet style meal.

We were overlooked at beginning of meal. Another table was served who arrived after we did. Very disturbing but when ther service started rolling, he deserved the 20% tip he received. Food was good and reasonably priced. Atmosphere relaxing. Being opened until midnight is a PLUS and needs to be advertised. I look forward to returning.

My girlfriend and I recently had dinner here before catching a show at the Ohio Theatre. Stu was our waiter, very courteous and engaging. The food was excellent, I had the strip which was cooked perfectly to medium rare, had a great color and was juicy on the inside. The green beans were crisp and seasoned just right and the chive mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful. My girlfriend had the salmon which was cooked perfectly with a delicious salsa topping and tender brussel sprouts. The dessert was easily one of the best I have had in Columbus, a salted pistachio cookie under a creamy vanilla creme brûlée garnished with the freshest razzberries, a dash of nutmeg to round out all the flavors and a piece of white chocolate with nuts.

This hotel restaurant is conveniently located next door to the Ohio Theatre, and perfect for dinner and drinks before hand! We had 6:30 reservations and made it the 8:00 show just fine. Their flatbread appetizers are EXCELLENT! And dinner was pretty good too. Prices are fair and I would definitely dine there before another show. I would also allow more time if you wanted more than one drink before the show, as it did take a little while for the drinks To make it to our table.

Stopped by The Plaza for dinner before seeing the Phantom of the Opera last weekend. I highly recommend that anyone heading to the Ohio Theater stop at this location for dinner. The Plaza sits on the second floore of the Sheraton hotel with a beautiful view. The food is delicious. I had the trout special and it was one of the best fish dishes I have had in a long time. The executive chef surprised us with a new cre brûlée dish that was out if this world.

We were attending the Phantom of the Opera and wanted to go somewhere close by so I gave your restaurant a try. I was extremely pleased with all aspects of your establishment. The view was great, the food and service was even better. Our server did a wonderful job accommodating our need to have a nice dinner but do so in under an hour ( was so quick we even had time for dessert). At the end of the meal we were told that the hotel will validate valet for dining with them (fantastic perk for a downtown restaurant). That solidified that we will return for every show we attend.

A friend suggested that we try them when we mentioned we had tickets to Phantom. I vaguely remember hearing the name years ago but was very pleasantly surprised to find a large elegant restaurant up on the 2nd floor of the hotel. We were sat by the window with a perfect view of the capitol building, and although staff seemed very busy, they were still very friendly and efficient- and quickly fixed a mix-up with my wine selection by recommending another tasty one .The food was great. I had the Salmon. My husband had a beet salad (yum) and Ribeye Steak. We shared the brulee for dessert and made it out of there with 10 minutes to spare - maybe earlier reservation next time - but best part -valet was free! Surprisingly good night!

We went on Valentine's day in order to secure a reservation prior to the Columbus Symphony concert. For most of the time we were there the service was very good. Just the right amount of time between cocktail to salad to main course. The food in general ranged from excellent (salad and guryere potatoes) to good. However, the service fell apart at the end. We were brought a dessert menu and asked if we would want something. We had decided to share a dessert and we told the waiter this. We still had plenty of time to make it to the concert. But then he didn't come back to the table for 25 minutes to ask for our dessert order. We couldn't trust that we would get out on time, so we asked for the check and adjusted his tip accordingly.

We were greeted by the Valet at the parking entrance, directed to the restaurant on the second floor, seated at a quiet location overlooking Third street and the beautiful buildings on its east side, and served by a friendly, knowledgeable young woman who knew what she was up to, mixed our drinks to perfection and explained the set menu carefully. The food came in good time, was tasty. We were not rushed and enjoyed an unusually pleasant, relaxed holiday dinner in a beautifully remodeled restaurant. It should be mentioned that we have eaten at the Plaza many times in the past (and many years ago) and very much enjoyed renewing acquaintance with the venue.

We dined at the Plaza Restaurant before attending the symphony at the Ohio Theater because of the convenient location and because we always enjoyed the restaurant when Hyatt owned the hotel. Although the food was well prepared, the service was POOR and certainly not of upscale hotel caliber. Although we allowed ourselves nearly 2 hours for dinner before the symphony, we barely made curtain time! The convenient location does not overcome the service.

I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times before events at a nearby theatre. While the menu is limited, the food is generally good overall and the convenience of the location can't be beat. Unfortunately we had a poor server on this visit. I had to repeatedly ask for water refills and our waitress was inattentive and unresponsive throughout our entire meal. We sat for quite awhile after our main course was done with no followup whatsoever. We would have happily ordered dessert but it was never offered. We had ample time before our show and a nice table by the window provided a relaxing place to sit and enjoy our wait, but we spent over 90 minutes at the restaurant largely being ignored.

All aspects of the dining experience took much longer than we had expected due to the apparent under-staffing. Our server was personable, knowledgable, and hard-working, but she couldn't possibly do a good job serving all the tables she seemed to be covering. There was confusion on our orders, a very long wait for our checks to arrive, and then we ultimately had to stand up and hover outside the kitchen door to catch her in order to sign for our meals. The change I received was a wad of ones she hurriedly thrust at me. Our food was actually quite good, but the experience has us wondering if the Sheraton is up to being the go-to place for people with theatre or symphony tickets and limited time.

We've been enjoying the Plaza for years. Its close proximity to the Ohio and Southern Theatres makes it very convenient. We really hope that the transition from Hyatt to Sheraton franchaise helps restore some of its fading lustre. The reported $10M renovation should certainly help a lot! The view of the state capitol building is a great asset as well. The food remains very strong! Best NY Strip steak that I've had in a long long time and its only $17!! The Leak soup was also outstanding! It seems that the kitchen hasn't missed a beat while the front of the house seemed quite understaffed. It is fair to note that it was a holiday weekend. Our server was trying his very best to tend to the floor but stretched too thin! We will be back!

The dinner menu had a good selection but was somewhat disappointed with the prime rib. Although it was of good quality, it was very, very bland. The salad was very good size and very tastey though $9. The entrees, N.Y.strip for my girlfriend chicken pesto for me were both very good and very resonably priced, we were told though bthat prices at least on the steak were going up after New Years. The only negative for our experience was the bread. It was not warm, slightly burnt, and very crunchy. I read other poor reviews about the bread before dining here and I could see why.
