Really great restaurant to enjoy the sunset overlooking Kapalua Bay and Molokai. Food was excellent and the wine list was diverse and had some nice eclectic selections. Probably could have been deeper on the 1/2 btl selections. My wife and I both had fish dishes which were prepared perfectly.

The Plantation House has been a long-time favorite of ours. Breakfast and dinner have been wonderful there. The spectacular views are worth the money. Although pricey, the food is very good. I had my mong chong fish order modified and it was served exactly as I asked. Martinis were ice cold, which is not the case at other restaurants. The Caesar salad was cold and crisp and actually served with anchovies! Over-all, a memorable dining experience.

If you are going, make sure you get there before sunset for the view. Otherwise there are many better restaurants in Kapalua. We were not impressed with the food, and the service was just decent. We brought an expensive bottle of wine and the waiter did not offer to decant it or bring us larger glasses. Instead he immediately poured huge glasses in the preset wine glasses. He didn't seem that knowledgable about the appetizers, didn't really seem to care if we were happy. The appetizer was not at all what was described. The steaks and fish were just ok.

Celebrated our 39 th wedding anniversary here. This is our 3rd visit to this restaurant. Picked sunset for dining, even though it was very over cast the view made up for the poor visibility. Lush green and ocean in the back ground. We were given to complimentary glasses of champagne. The service was excellent, quiet open air. Love love love this place.

We were married on Maui and had our dinner reception at the Plantation House nine years ago. We have been back to the Plantation House several times since not only for dinner but also lunch. Their food is outstanding not to mention the awesome views especially at sunset. Staff is friendly, fun and does an exceptional job. Plan to visit many times more in the future. Mahalo!

We had a very nice dinner at the Plantation House that sits up above the Plantation Golf Course. We had drinks first and watched the sunset. The bartender was very friendly. We were given a very nice table along the window. It was a warm evening so we had the ambiance of indoor and outdoor dining with all of the windows open. I had MahiMahi which was cooked perfectly and prepared with a macadamia nut crust. My husband had the rack of lamb which he said was very good. We had coffee following dinner and it was very relaxed. I would also recommend this restaurant for lunch as the views are outstanding and it is fun to watch the golfers.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. It sits up high over the golf course and has an amazing view. Some of the best food we had during our vacation. The service was a little slow, but we were here to relax, so it was OK. We thought it was odd that there were so few people in the dining room

...so can't say with any certainty how much better our experience would have been had we come at the right time (that was my fault when I made the rese). The food and service was great, but it was a bit too "classic" for us- we prefer inventive and unexpected dining experiences.

We were at the Plantation house 2 years ago and loved it. It was phenominal! We decided to go back but didn't have the same experience. The food was pretty good but not as wonderful as last. The arancini appetizer was probably the best part of the meal. My fish was just okay & my dessert was just okay. During this visit I was very very unimpressed with our waiter. When I asked for guidance when choosing between a dish I was told oh both are popular. When I asked for guidance between desserts....oh both are popular.

Yes, it's in North Kapalua...in a Golf Clubhouse...and a little difficult to find in the twilight...so, go early for the sunset...and to make the trip easy...only a few miles north of Lahaina/Kaanapali...but, oh, so worth the drive...NOTHING...we repeat, NOTHING, between OGG and Kapalua comes close to the food we enjoyed last evening at The Plantation House....friendly, free, valet parking...wonderful vistas over the course and out to the ocean...a wide choice of thoughtful, locally inspired appetizers...fresh fish with a variety of cooking styles and sauces...nice wine by the glass or bottle at reasonable prices...and a good, though, not "sexy" offering of desserts. Bravo!

The wife and I had dinner at the Plantation House, located 10 minutes north of Kapalua, and boy oh boy, what a find. Absolutely beautiful restaurant whose food is excellent and the open view is breathtaking. The Plantation house is elevated on a large hill with open "plantation" style of architecture that provides a wonderful view of the coastline. The bar was quite busy, not a large bar, perhaps will seat 15, but they serve excellent cocktails and no short pours. Full dinner service or their bar bit menu is great. The dinner was spectacular with good menu offering of fresh fish, a few steaks and one pasta (yum). The pricing is excellent, no rip offs. Had wonderful breakfast there the next day, for two, $33.00. This is a "locals" place.

Our regular trip to Plantation House on this trip to Maui. The decor and layout of restaurant are spectacular, as are the views. Food a bit below what we have had in the past, but still good. I had the red snapper, that was tasty but sauce not exciting. One guest had the monchong in a broth which was somewhat bland. Another guest had catch of the night blackened with the normandy sauce and felt it was excellent. Another guest had pasta dish and loved it. Caprese salad interesting presentation. Butter lettuce blue cheese wedge top notch and enough for two. Service was ok, but below what one would expect for the prices of the food and wine. No one came after each course delivered so had to ask busboy for salt and some lemon wedges.

The restaurant is in a prime location with a view to match, if you go be there at sunset. We arrived a little early and were seated promptly, the waiter was very attentive. We settled on drinks and appetizers which were very good. Our dinners arrived and the braised ribs were tepid at best, I called the waiter back and he said he would replace it. By the time he did that my wife had finished her dinner and was looking at dessert, I told the waiter it was a little to late and he took the plate away and removed it from my bill. I would think that if they made an error like they did they would rectify it quickly, I am not sure that I would go back now.

We've been dining at the Plantation House for years - it is one of our "musts" when we come to Maui every year. With the change in management and chef a couple of years ago, there were a bunch of negative reviews - not sure why that was, other than some people just don't like change. My wife and I think that the changes have been great - the food is better than ever, with some new twists on some old favorites. If you only came for the view, you wouldn't be disappointed, but staying for the food makes the experience as great as you can find on Maui. From the wonderful way the manager Michele greets you, the informative and fun bartender Ben, to our wonderful server Kianna, we were delighted with our special anniversary celebration.

The Plantation is a "must-dine" for us on west Maui. Our first experience was over 10 years ago and we loved it just as much this past week! The view is unparalleled, especially at sunset. The ambience is lovely and romantic, but would also be suitable for groups and special occasions. And the food... Beautiful to the eye, outstanding flavors and adequate portions. (The Bento box appetizer was divine!) I don't think you could go wrong with a single item on this menu. Service was excellent without being overbearing. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary & were kindly offered champagne and treated very well. We look forward to our next visit!

I've been to the plantation house in the past (probably about two years ago was my last time) and it's definitely gone down hill. Still a beautiful location, but the food quite frankly was bland and tasteless. I've heard that they hired a new chef... I think that may have been a mistake. The service was good, but the server kept telling us that certain things were not so great on the menu. I found that a bit odd as well. I wanted salmon and he basically said I'd be better off with something else. Unfortunately I probably won't be back... Very sad for such a landmark restaurant!

The Plantation House Restaurant was an excellent place for a romantic dinner overlooking the Kapalua Golf Course. The menu had tons of specials and the waiter was very knowledgeable about all of the food and the wine selections. There is an extensive bar and wine list to choose from. This is the perfect spot for a romantic evening out with tables that sit on a balcony overlooking the course and the water with a prefect view of the sunset. The food was delicious and well prepared. The only let down was dessert. The menu has several options but nothing truly special or remarkable. For those looking for a romantic restaurant you will not go wrong here.

The Plantation House has always been a "must-do" visit whenever we visit Maui, no matter what part of the island we are staying in. This year's experience will change all of those traditions. Our service was atrocious and the food was fair, at best. My daughter ordered the filet of beef to be cooked medium and it came out so well done, that we had to send it back, (something we never do!) By the time they brought out her meal, we were finished. Additionally, we shuttled over to the restaurant as we were staying at the Ritz Carlton, and our server said he would call the shuttle and we could wait outside. After 30 minutes we went back in to inquire about why it was taking so long, only to discover that our server had forgotten to call.

We had dinner here 7 years ago for our daughter's 21st birthday. The Plantation House Restaurant was outstanding then so we decided to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary there. Our daughter knew we had reservations here and called ahead of time to have a dozen red roses delivered to our table. She also treated us to anything we would like to enjoy that evening. We enjoyed the Cakebread Wine Cellars wine pairing. Overall the restaurant is Outstanding. The most beautiful sunsets are here. The service and food is outstanding. We had the perfect table with the most beautiful sunset in the world. Thank you for making our celebration so very special.

We loved the view from our table. It was truly a million dollar view. However, I felt the food did not match the beautiful atmosphere and view. I had the duck, and was disappointed. It did not seem fresh, but rather something warmed up in the microwave. My wife enjoyed her fish. And the appetizers were very good. The service was so so. It took forever for the server to take the check. It sat on the table for a good 20 to 25 minutes on the table with my credit card.

Food very good but not outstanding. We arrived at 6:45 and missed the opportunity to sit near the windows or middle of restaurant. We were sat next to the rear bus station. The staff was attentive but not outstanding. We were checked in with occasionally despite having everyone stop next to our table on every action they took. Most disappointing we got to over hear all of the complaining from the staff and management and negative interaction among the staff. We felt we were not only in the kitchen (not in a positive chef tasting way) but out by the dumpsters listening to the employees find a place to whine.

The plantation House was a real treat. We had never been there before: the setting was amazing, the service was spot on and the food was outstanding! We started with the Hamachi Tartar which was melt in our mouth delicious. We picked out a bottle of wine and based on our choice the server recommended the Stags Leap Chard instead, which paired with all the food deliciously. We both had local caught fish, my wife had Uku (Gray Snapper) and I had Monchong both cooked perfectly. Special thanks to the Chef de Cuisine, Mike Burman for the Fantastic meal.
