Michelin recommended. A California based Organic restaurant company, we offer all healthy dishes, fresh juices, salads, sandwiches, soups, entrees & desserts as well as Sustainable seafood and 100% organic poultry.

Extensive lunch and brunch menu with a distinct full dinner menu seven days a week.

We follow a farm-to-table philosophy relying on quality local produce. In many cases, food has been grown only a day or two before it is served to our guests. If it is not available locally, we search the globe in our quest for the best organic, natural or artisan quality ingredients as reflected in our coffees, teas, and spirits.

We host a full bar with organic cocktails and local, sustainable wines. We pride ourselves in offering food for all including sustainable seafood, local organic poultry, specialty pizza and delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices.

It was just hard to get someone's attention (at least 10 mins) when one of our friends arrived late and wanted to order food & bev. I'd love to sit on the outside terrace and get a better sense of the view and being on the water. I guess we'll have to try again during warmer months. It's nice to have a healthy dinner and not feel too guilty about what we're eating. It's the first time I've ever seen a table of women all order their OWN desserts (instead of sharing!)."

  • "I am gluten and lactose intolerant, so finding a restaurant that can accommodate my food sensitivities without much fuss is a welcome thing. Plant Cafe has many items for me to choose from, all beautifully prepared and very good. My friends without such issues also enjoyed the salads and fresh juice. I made a reservation, and my guests showed up 15 minutes late. When two thirds of us had arrived, the host said he could not seat incomplete parties. But he also said he had another group schedule to sit at our table at 7, which made me anxious the entire time that someone would give us the boot! That little exchange was rather irritating. Our server was wonderful though--polite and patient with a group of indecisive women."

  • "It can be tricky picking a nice spot to meet someone for the first time. The Plant was great. Open, great view of the water as we sat outside to get some San Francisco spring sunshine. The service was great. Prompt but not intrusive. I had never has brunch there and I was not disappointed. Starting with a fresh juice and then continuing with the huvos rancheros was a great start for the day and our conversation. All in all a great place to meet and eat."

He was not accommodating and we waiting a while to be seated inside even though many tables were empty. The service was extremely slow but the waitress was nice and comped one of our entrees. The cocktails and smoothies are also excellent, as are the pizzas. Be sure to request a seat on the outdoor heated patio overlooking the water. It's great people watching on warm days."

  • "Plant is a great place for vegans to go with non-vegans -- they have several delicious vegan entrees and lots of non-vegan stuff. I've had the BBQ Tempeh which I really liked and the Quinoa Bowl which was fantastic. I've eaten a lot of quinoa bowls and this one is my favorite so far. I tried the Plant Burger a couple of years ago and wasn't all that impressed, but I would give it another go the next time I am there (the wasabi burger sounds intriguing). I also have to give a shout out to the bartender for the blood orange margarita (sadly, a special of the night, not on their regular menu) and the Plant Punch (which is on the menu). Portion size is ample and cost is very reasonable. It can get noisy & the tables are packed tight."

The service has not been great either time we were there, particularly the second, when we were seated for a very long time before a drink order was taken, and an even longer time after it was taken. The server seemed to have too much territory to cover - she was apologetic, but a half hour wait for a cocktail is extreme. Still, the food is great, the view is great, the servers are pleasant - just scarce."

  • "I've been here a few times now. Very different vibe from downtown location. Love the food, great for vegans and omnis alike. This time I went with work colleagues (I'm vegan, they're omnis) and everyone loved the food, service, and ambiance. Last time I came by myself and did feel I wasn't treated well, not friendly service and people sitting next to me were getting better service, being told about specials, had more prompt and attentive service, etc. It seems they don't like single diners. However, I do love the food, great vegan options, and will be back."

  • "My wife and I went to this restaurant for a special night out and while the food was pretty good, the service was terrible. The hostess gave us attitude and told us we had to wait when we walked in even though we had a reservation. Then our server and the bussers gave us horrible attitude all night, like when we asked for water or when we asked for corkage on the bottle of wine we brought. So in other words, while the food was good, the service was so terrible that we will never go back again."

  • "We had a reservation for brunch and were seated promptly. We were given good recommendations by the server and the food was indeed delicious. There were 5 of us and we tried the huevos rancheros and two different egg scrambles. We also ordered 2 stacks of pancakes for the table. Unfortunately, they were delivered at the same time as the main courses and were cold by the time we came to eat them. We also didn't get clean plates and cutlery automatically, only those of us who asked. We were very pleased with the quality of the food and the portion size. I didn't feel stuffed yet I ate all of my food, and their prices are very reasonable. We'll be back."

  • "Lately, I've been exploring various vegetarian focused restaurants and I was very pleased with Plant. I only had their daily soup and BBQ Tempeh. Wow, the tempeh was fantastic: tasty, provocative, and filling! It probably leaned towards a "bit too salty side," but not too much. Still, I now want to return to this place and try some of the other dishes. Lastly, you can't beat the location if you ever want to dine at the embarcadero and sit next to the bay."

  • "The four of us had a nice dinner at Plant. We've been there a few times and have always enjoyed ourselves. I had the chicken pizza and it was very good. The others seemed to enjoy their entrees as well. My wife loves the Plant burger. We ordered a sampler appetizer and it was very good, although I felt the portions were extremely small. All of us felt that way about the appetizer. My daughter thought it resembeled food art, nice looking, but not much food at all."

  • "The Plant is one of my favorite restaurants, so I eat there a few times a year, often on special occasions. This time, I tried a seasonally offered appetizer that included four different things: a beet salad, an empanada, a simple avocado-mushroom invention, and a little roll up. It was all SO scrumptious. I only wish they had it year-round. I always feel like I'm eating health at the Plant too. Love this place."
