Extensive lunch and brunch menu with a distinct full dinner menu served seven days a week.

We follow a farm-to-table philosophy relying on quality local produce. In many cases, food has been grown only a day or two before it is served to our guests. If it is not available locally, we search the globe in our quest for the best organic, natural or artisan quality ingredients as reflected in our coffees, teas, and spirits.

We host a full bar with organic cocktails and local, sustainable wines. We pride ourselves in offering food for all including sustainable seafood, local organic poultry, specialty pizza and delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices.

  • "This restaurant serves very fresh ingredients and the dishes are well prepared. It was wonderful to have the choice of vegan, gluten-free and regular dishes all on the same menu. We ordered a vegan salad to share, and it was really good. Then she was able to order a vegan burger and I had meat on my pizza. The staff was attentive and the cocktails were great too!"

  • "I have been the the Plant several times now, and most of the time things are great. Sunday I modified my order a bit due to dietary restrictions and yet they brought the meal as it was on the menu. :( My boyfriend ate his breakfast and offered to share as I waited. The bill came and there was no discount or anything...seems like they could have given me a free cup of tea or something for having to wait. I was a but peeved but it was still a good experience."

  • "I love having a healthy choice option for lunch on Burlingame Ave. Menu has enough variety for even my picky son. Food does not disappoint. However, as of late, the service leaves something to be desired. The last 2 times it has taken 15-25 minutes to place our food order and repeated requests for simple things like cream and sugar for coffee."

  • "This was my 2nd visit. The first time I had the Cobb salad and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients and a fresh approach on presentation. Service was poor then too, even though it was a slow night. Visited again for lunch and had the beet salad and it was okay, a little overdressed. My friend had the Plant 5 salad and enjoyed it. We had to flag down our waiter and the busboy repeatedly to request water. I finally asked them to leave the bottle. They also have a brunch menu so you have lots of options."

  • "I love coming to the Plant Cafe Organic the first time I went I had these incredible pancakes with coconut pineapple whipping cream! To die for! Very yummy! Other times I've gone I've had the veggie burger which is very different from other places very filling besides being very delicious. Overall the presentation of the food, the taste and the service is awesome. Great place for vegans!"

  • "I picked the restaurant for a friend from New Zealand who is a vegetarian. The Plant is not just a vegetarian restaurant. I ate vegetarian and was well surprised. I had the Plant Burger and it was tasty. I actually left the restaurant with my unfinished burger and my son devoured it when we got home. My wife had the duck and it must have been good as she had no leftovers. We would revisit the Plant when in the area!"

  • "I love Plant for their dedication to local, organic and healthy foods, including an amazing variety of gluten free and vegan options. This was my first visit to their Burlingame location, and on top of the delicious food and wine, we received truly outstanding service. Their food and service is so high end that my only wish would be for them to have a more elegant, white table cloth type of location as well for those special occasion dinners."

  • "We came for lunch for the first time - thankfully with reservations! The staff is warm and friendly and accommodating without hovering - which is great. The food is excellent - even my friends who aren't health nuts loved it. The prices are affordable, as well. The only downside was the noise. It was hard for my friends and I to hear each other - of course we were sitting in the middle and that might have had something to do with it. I hope dinner time is a bit quieter - can't wait to find out. Overall, I give our experience a 9.5. Thanks and keep up the good work :)"

  • "When we got there we seated promptly. When ordering drinks we were told that they were out if the options that my Mom wanted. It was disappointing that they were out of popular items. We ordered an appetizer, pea and burrata crostini, and our entrees, plant burger and halibut. From that point service was slow, our waitstaff was nice & friendly, but the dishes took a while to arrive. The crostini was unimpressive and the mint leaves on top were wilted and a little brown. My plant burger was the texture of mashed potatoes and really bland. The halibut was crusted with coconut and the sauce was sweet. All in all the food was not very good & while the servers were nice, they were not enough to make up for the food. "

Great for vegans,vegetarians, omni eaters and those looking to try something healthy. There is a bar and wine list for those wishing to drink. I recommend the salads and desserts as they are delicious and usual. "

  • "Really disappointed in the food quality and vapid disinterested service! We've been before, and we've been to the location on the SF waterfront. But some of the food this night in Burlingame was shockingly poor. The soba salad with Salmon was bad -- they must have run out of soba noodles -- two at our party of four had this dish and between them there might have been 1/4 cup on noodles hidden in two big bowls of greens. The "cured" salmon was salty and fishy and in this case, not much of it was okay. One of our party was served Rock Cod as a (cheaper) sub for Halibut which was explained away as "more sustainable" -- Really just felt like "higher margin" for an expensive entree. Hard to imagine going back to The Plant in Burlingame."

  • "I had seen this restaurant when it opened last year and had wanted to try it for some time. My friend and I had a great lunch. The table I requested wasn't ready; we were directed to the bar where we could order a starter or lunch, and then move to a table when available. There was a slight mix up and our complete lunch was brought to the bar. We were enjoying talking to the server behind the counter and were very comfortable eating there, so we decided not to move when our table was available. We split our entire meal; spring rolls, the dino kale salad, and crab and lobster sandwich. The portions were generous and very tasty. "

  • "The food is delicious and full of fresh produce and the service is exceptional. My teenagers love it and I feel good about the nutritional profile they get there. My husband and I had the duck and halibut for dinner and they were wonderful and we felt great afterwords, not bogged down from excessive butter and starch like most restaurants. My kids love the plant burger and the smoothies. They even have interesting cocktails which appeals to my husband who is interested in the mixology scene. I am gluten sensitive and try to keep my eating profile full of produce and this is one of the few restaurants helps me adhere to that without sacrificing taste. The hostess and the managers are fantastic, so friendly, efficient and professional."

  • "My salad was tasty although not outstanding. My husband's humus platter was not what he expected. Two humus balls were not to his liking. Prefer humus from true Mediterranean restaurants where its smooth and creamy - not solid mounds! And pita bread, which had been warmed/toasted, got hard and crunchy. Much prefer soft pita. And for an organic/health place, would have liked a wheat option. Atmosphere and servers were ok but not outstanding. And place was too warm and stuffy. Either heat was on or air conditioner needed to be turned on."

  • "This was my 4th visit. The food continues to be good to excellent, but the service is not. It is better for lunch. This time we went for dinner, with out of town foodie guests. The restaurant was completely understaffed and unprepared for a slow Sunday night! We waited for drinks, got plastic spoons because the stainless was being washed and were told that 2 of the 4 fish entrees were 86ed. Management finally showed up to help the bartender and we did get a comp discount, but really, after almost 1 year?"

  • "Hi, Went for a family birthday. My entree (tempeh with Korean BBQ sauce) was so salty that it was inedible. I sent it back. Same for a dining partner who ordered chicken. Too salty to eat. Sent it back. Staff were very kind about it. I love the fact that this restaurant has so many vegetarian and organic options, but this was my third time in, and sorry to say the food continues to underwhelm. I wish the chefs would be creative and original enough to think of ways to add flavor and character to the dishes with something other than salt. Hmmm..."

  • "This is the second time I have dined at The Plant Café. I highly recommend trying dishes that are not your usual fare. My husband and I both ordered the red chili thai curry. It was complex, gingery, spicy, crunchy.. Very unusual and very satisfying. My vegetarian daughter ordered the Korean BBQ tempeh. Again, the dish was complex with rich flavors and textures. My husband ordered a vegan raspberry cheesecake for dessert and it was dense, rich, and satisfying. My one disappointment was that I wanted to order their special which was 4 unique small plates; unfortunately at 6:30 pm they were already out of that dish! I wish they would have had more."

  • "Although it was 1:00 lunch time, we had to ask many times for our waiter. Slow service and slow to serve our request, like coffee and cream for the coffee, etc. We had two servers, one for our station and the other one we just grabbed as our server was MIA. The food was wonderful, two people in our party had very serious food issues and could happily eat here with no worry. This is huge. Would definitely come back again, just for the food. Hopefully the service will pick up, but we understand as it was a Holiday and busy."

  • "This was my forth time dining at The Plant, Burlingame. The food is pretty basic and fresh enough, but it's CRAZY that when you're seated the server doesn't go over their specials, she reviews everything they've run out of that's listed on the menu; it's 7pm on a Thursday night - not 9:30pm. But the biggest turnoff is they have never had the Pinot Noir, by the glass, that's listed on the menu (they only have wines by the glass). Remember i've dined here four times. The funniest part is the server, with a straight and sincere face, says they ran out - it's very popular…. Um, you've said that the last three times I've been here, and Burlingame is approx 60 miles for the infamous Napa Valley wine country! No more chances The Plant Burlingame."

  • "I have eaten here many times and I have to say that the meals are a hit or miss. Sometimes the food is really top notch, with fresh ingredients and flavor insightful dishes. Other times it seems like the ingredients are at least a few days old, the flavor is lacking and the meal seems hastily put together. I think the thing you can count on always being are the fresh squeezed juices and some of the entirely vegetarian dishes. The other things on the menu really depend on the day you go."

  • "Have eaten here several times now and find the food very good. Place is noisy if crowded (which is most of the time) but the staff are aware of this are working on it. I am managing multiple allergies including gluten and nightshades. The staff here are very good at making suggestions as to what would be good for me. Am surprised to see some of the comments about quality here since that hasn't been my experience. Highly recommend reservations if going for prime time."
