I took my boyfriend here for his 21st birthday. We got there a bit early and they said that they would prepare a table for us, so a hostess lead us to the bar. There were no seats and she said to just sit on the stage, but it was very awkward and people were laughing at us, so we went to a different host and he seated us outside. It was a bit chilly but they offer blankets, which I thought was very nice! We had the meatballs as well as the bruschetta and the steak, plus chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned! The service was a bit slow, but very good considering how packed the place was. Definitely recommend making reservations if you want to get into this place. Overall a lovely experience!

We arrived in Seattle around 6:30PM. By the time we got to our condo, it was almost 8, and we were famished. The concierge recommended Pink Door, and it was fantastic. Over the next 5 days, we ate there 3 times. Fresh, innovative, delicious. Can't wait to go back. No sign out front, just a pink door.....

It's been a couple of years since I last remembered to dine at The Pink Door, and gosh, have I been missing out! I'd forgotten how well-prepared, fresh and tasty everything on the menu is, and what a treat it is to dine overlooking the Market at Elliott Bay. The online reservations are for their tables outdoors (seasonal), so if you reserve via OpenTable, voila-- you have a table outdoors! I was a little worried about sitting outdoors as the sky was a bit gray... worry not! The first tiny drops of rain brought out a nearly-invisible sliding awning-- hidden behind the latticework overhead-- to keep us warm and dry even while it sprinkled around us. The Pink Door is a treat: and try the cioppino-- it's Northwest-fresh, tasty & perfect!

The Pink Door has long been a favorite for Seattle funky style, great food, anda rareplace with a nice view right in the middle of Pike Place (where you might think there would be more places that fit this bill). Pink Door service is always attentive and friendly, the food great, and you just can't beat the feelinh of being outside looking at the water. It continues to remind me why it'sa favorite.

The Pink Door is one of my favorite Seattle restaurants. Although its menu is not particularly large, the dishes that they do have are executed wonderfully and always keep me coming back for more! The ambiance of the restaurant is quite charming and elegant. The outdoor seating area is perfect for warm summer nights. I'll be back again for sure!

The Pink Door has been around for many years and it is one of the best Pike Place Market gems. The view from the outside dining deck is fantastic and the vibe of the market is all around. The Pink Door is such a gem for the Pikes Market area. The food is excellent, the staff are very friendly and professional, the energy is always positive. The outside seating is always the best, with the view it creates an "outdoor Parisian cafe" experience. Can't go wrong with The Pink Door!

Not our first time at Pink Door, but few times better than August: great weather for outdoor seating and heirloom tomato season are tough to beat. Whether it's in bruschetta or caprese salad (our choice), heirloom tomatoes are to be savored. Likewise, some of Seattle's best meatballs are great in a sub or on the side (the latter this time, but both are winners). Crab/sweet-corn risotto was "heaven in a bowl," according to my wife, and GF, too (one of several GF offerings). The wine list offers many options, but for lunch we usually go with a half-carafe if house wine and have ever been disappointed. Reservations strongly recommended, even if you're arriving at opening.

My wife made us reservations while we were in Seattle. After looking at the website I was a little hesitant and even suggested we try something else. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the overall theme of the restaurant and the cuisine was surprisingly appetizing and well presented. This is a great find in Seattle and will complement anyone's dinning itinerary while in town.

I am a gluten-free vegetarian. Therefore, I appreciate that Pink Door offers gluten-free pasta. Even so, there was only one vegetarian pasta dish offered with mushrooms which I dislike so I ordered something else when I looked forward to having pasta. It would be nice to have had a second choice. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the beautiful view, good service and quality food. I just wanted pasta instead of the panini that had a tasty filling but made with Udi's bread.

  • The Pink Door Wows!

    Dined on 8/21/2014
Sure enough, just as the website says you will not find a sign saying you've arrived at the right place, just a pink door in an alley. Cutting to the quick, excellent service, a noisy, boisterous atmosphere full of energy - exactly what one would expect at a good Italian restaurant. The food was superb, my wife having oven baked lasagna and crab risotto fort myself. Our appetizer was bruschetta but not an ordinary one at that. Thick sliced heirloom tomatoes, sweet and full of flavor on garlicky sliced ciabatta (I think) drizzled with olive oil and fresh chopped basil. The lasagna was delicious, the risotto cooked perfectly. The only complaint was the corn and grape tomatoes in the risotto were so sweet as to detract from the crab. Poor me!

The day started gloomy but by evening it was perfect – the sun came out and our experience could not have been any finer than it was on the deck at the Pink Door. Our waitress Elyse was amazing – great sense of humor but never intrusive; always on top of our needs. And we indulged in super food – the tuna carpaccio was a standout; our entrees of scallops, lamb and the pasta of the day were excellent; and everything was rounded out by delightful wines and desserts. Thank you, Pink Door, for giving three long-time friends who explored Italy together 12 years ago an evening that transported us back to that fantastic trip.

This Pink Door was recommended by a friend whom has dined here before. We were on our way back home to Vancouver, BC from a Portland, OR road trip and made a pitstop in Seattle for lunch. The restaurant is located on Post Alley in the Pike Place Market area, similar to Granville Island in Vancouver. It also has outdoor patio seating. I had the Vegetable Lasagna while my girlfriend had the Seafood Spaghetti. The food is decent with moderate portions, not the typical Amercan, obesity-inducing, super-sized portions like one usually sees in the States. This place seems like it would be more popular with the tourists than with the locals. It's a casual atmosphere serving Italian appies, pasta, one pizza, meat and seafood entrees. It was okay.

Very disappointed with the meals. Smallest portion of vegetables I have ever received, and they were cold and pickled. Served flat beer but was given the last dregs of the barrel free. Lamb was very salty although well cooked. My wife's chicken meal was OK. Would not recommend this place. My poorest meal of the holiday. Only gave two stars because my wife's meal was ok.

I made a reservation over 3 weeks in advance for a Wednesday night and requested to be seated outside on the patio. The day of, I confirmed that I wanted to be seated outside and when we showed up at 7:48 for our 7:45 reservation, the hostess said she had already marked us as "no show" and given away our table. We were placed in the back of the dining room so we could not see the patio or even the band. This was extremely disappointing since it was my birthday and I had made reservations so far in advance. Besides the hostess, overall the food was great, the server was attentive, and we appreciated the real candles.

Be aware that there is no actual sign on the door -- just a pink door in Post Alley, so find it by the address. Our waitress was wonderful. She made good suggestions and we tried several different items, all of which were delicious. The bruschetta and caprese appetizers were excellent and included large slices of the best tomatoes we have ever eaten (the bruschetta did not have diced tomatoes, but sliced) flavored gently with herbs to bring out the natural taste. As mains, three of us had the lasagne, the cioppino, and the Pappardelle Al Ragù Bolognese and each was delicious and delicate with robust but not over-powering flavors. I would come back tomorrow if I weren't trying to experience more of the city.

This is very good but not great food, but given the quantities (huge appetizers) and prices it is well worth a trip. The food is fresh, and somewhat creative - the olive oil with the bread, for example, is noteworthy. We shared a grilled calamari appetizer and it was the highlight of the meal. The pasta fruiti de mari, by contrast was relatively bland despite the description. The wine list is broad and reasonable, and has several half bottles, always a pleasant surprise.
