  • "Don't let the casual atmosphere fool you. The Pig has a gourmet touch. If you like pork, you have to try it."

  • "Loved the spicy BBQ pig tails!! Must order. Like the best ribs you've ever had, but with a different bone structure. Little Pig (charcuterie), Chinese glazed pork belly, and Face Bacon were all winners. The daily special was risotto made with marrow and topped with pig brain was under done and chewy. Flavor was fine, but texture was all off. We were with a wine crowd and didn't try the cocktails, but they seem very good and interesting. The bottle wine selection is varied and reasonably price. We had a nice bottle of California viognier. Then we made the mistake of ordering a half a carafe of the house white wine. A nearly tasteless pinot gris served way too cold. It was even tasteless when we let it warm up, so pass on the jug wine."

  • "You enjoy all things pork, you'll love this place!"

  • "My husband and I went here on date night and loved it, especially since it is a casual place. Our server, Dylan, was very knowledgable and spot on with his recommendations..I would recommend the Olivia for a cocktail and their very pricey Manhattan..both excellent. We shared the Little Pig and 4 veggie sides. All was just perfect. We both loved the potato salad and did not expext to. All in all, the Pig was yummy with wonderful service. Our only beef was a family who was chasing their todder around all evening until he pulled a big curtain down. Then they figured they had better leave. We go out to get away from our tot at dinner. Humorous and obnoxious. But we will be back!"

  • "An almost all-pork restaurant (there are a few other selections on the menu) is clever, but what's more important is that the chefs really can cook. A special of risotta with marrow was very good, as was the roasted cauliflower. Pig cheek was great, and the service was attentive. Get there early and snag a table near the windows, far away from the bar, if you want low-keyed conversation."

  • "I went to the Pig a year ago and it was absolutely wonderful. This time the food was still good but not nearly as high quality as last time."

  • "It was an amazing experience, waiter was very polite and knowledgable! Food was out of bounds fantastic......it just makes me sad that The Pig is not located in the city where I live!:("

  • "They have a great big tasting board that was excellent, after that everything was just good. The tails needed to be rendered more. The vegetables were really good, hard to mess them up. The drinks were quite good. Overall it was good; they have the potential to be great."

  • "loved the concept (homegrown pig, used nose to tail). Restaurant was welcoming, upbeat without being too loud. An electic crowd. The menu is pork-oriented fun but also worked for those who don't like pork (well, except for a bit of bacon!) Truffle mac and cheese is best ever. Great bourbon list. Informal and yet special."

  • "The best manhattan one can find, and wonderful ribs."

  • "I don't usually write reviews, but The Pig was absolutely fantastic--one of the all-around best meals I've had in DC in a very long time. My friend and I shared a bunch of dishes and two desserts, and there was not a single misstep. In fact, every dish was worth coming back for. Particular standouts were the porchetta char siu, the braised cheeks, and the prawns with squid ink aioli. I wished I could have taken a jar of that aioli home with me. The service was also perfectly attentive and helpful without being overbearing, and the bourbon cocktails were delicious."

  • "This was our second time at The Pig and it was just as great as the first. The small plates are perfectly suited for sharing and the diverse offering of pig dishes has something to offer everyone. The drink menu is also packed with cocktails, beers, and wines but not too overwhelming with choices. Add to all of this, great service - our waitress was wonderful (I wish I could remember her name)."

  • "Don't let the more adventurous porcine parts perrturb you. This place has food for everyone and it all tastes great! When. I I'm nearby I've found impossible to go anywhere else. Bon Appétit little piggies!"

  • "Swine butter. It came with the bread and was a delightful start to our meal at The Pig. I ordered the braised pork cheek, which was delicious and tender. Although the waiter told us to order two items per person, I think I would have been fine with just the cheek and didn't necessarily need the veggie side that I got. Portions were larger than the waiter described. I will definitely go back."

  • "The small plate style gives you a chance to try many things, but you get full before you are even part way through the menu. Every morsel is a tasty treat! Great value for the money too. Pair your plates with a great beer or some nice wine. The comfy, casual atmosphere makes it ideal for unwinding or a low key night out,"

  • "The Pig is a very eclectic use of the pork. For a group of people from a Midwest agriculture college, we enjoyed the way the food was prepared and it tasted great. We all agreed that The Pig used just about every part of the pig in its menu. The staff was great and the atmosphere is great for groups. They accommodated our group, even when we added more people beyond our reservation."

  • "sausage plate was soso. Ribs were dry. Small plate lived to its name "small""

  • "What makes The Pig good for groups is that the menu is based on small plates for sharing. Our group of four ordered ten dishes and everyone got to sample each of the plates. Many of the plates came with tasty garnishes like house-made pickles, pickled chard, etc. The Little Pig (charcuterie) was a hit as were the bacon-wrapped apples. The "off-the-menu" Bobotie was excellent, but the Porchetta was fattier than we would have liked (though the polenta base was nice). The crispy Brussels sprouts were very good, but we weren't as wild about the vegetable cassoulet. The bourbon flights (4 samples for $7) were spectacular and the beer selections were good. Service was excellent - prompt and helpful."

  • "We had a delightful dinner at the pig on a not too busy weekend night. We shared the pork belly, which just melts away in your mouth, the cider braised cheek, macaroni and cheese, and cauliflower. For dessert we shared the pork blood chocolate pudding and the sticky toffee pudding. Between the two, the toffee pudding was my favorite, but you can't go wrong with either. This is a great spot for foodies ready to pass some plates around the table and share. Our waitress was absolutely excellent. I hope that others are looking to her as their example. She was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Her recommendations helped us select our dinner and we were not disappointed."

  • "I went there with my wife for our 5th year anniversary this past Sunday and it was the best brunch we've had in a very long time. The food was delicious, the drinks were spectacular and the staff was very friendly and warm and on the constant look out for our excitement and overall satisfaction. Bacon infused bourbon bloody Marys with a slice of bacon sticking out, thick cut bacon appetizers with maple syrup and a fabulous country style mustard and chicken fried pork and waffles, all of it was delicious. And it was reasonably priced, the place was crowded with people enjoying themselves and having a great time and everything, from the set up, to the wall decorations made it a wonderful anniversary brunch even more wonderful. Thanks Pig"

  • "I love this restaurant. 99% of the menu includes pork, including the drinks! Everything is fresh and prepared with care. The wait staff is very knowledgable of the entire menu & that's a plus. We went with our waiters recommendation and are please that we did. My only complaint is that with the place being so small our waiter was not attentive. Once we got our food we didn't see him until we were done. But I'll definitely be back because the food is deliciously fantastic!"

  • "First time visit to the Pig. Waitstaff knew the food well even when we had food restrictions within our group. Glad we had a reservation early dinner since we were able to explore the menu (food and drinks) without feeling rushed. We ordered many dishes and enjoyed them all including the side dishes - didn't know chard could be that tender and good. It was National Pig Day so I got to get the suckling pig - yummy. Can't wait to share the restaurant with my coworkers!"

  • "This was the second time I ate the Pig. The only reason why I returned is because the food was do great. However, the second time we returned with a party of four, we were sat at the smallest table ever smashed in between two other loud and large parties. These parties kept moving their chairs back into my children which made the experience a no go. I'd asked the hostess if we could sit at an available booth. She told me that the booths were for five people. Ok I can understand that but when I see a party of four sitting there while we are eating, I get concerned. The food was ok this time. Not great but ok. I feel that there was a lot going on to actually enjoy my food. Oh well, I had so much faith in this place."

  • "We went to dinner here on a whim and were VERY pleasantly surprised. It happened to be National Pig Day which only added to the fun. The Small plates were inventive and delicious. Even the things that were not to my pallet I certainly could appreciate. Food came out quickly which is always good when you have a 3 year old in tow. Note worthy dishes were the Bacon Face and Mac and Cheese YUM. I also really enjoyed the dish with the polenta sauce. All and all a very nice night. Bit pricey. Ordering a good sampling does add up."

  • "I had a chickpea dish that was drowning in salt. My wife had a gnat in her cocktail. She sent it back, the second drink also with a gnat. The food was only okay. Our server was helpful. We will not be returning."

  • "This was the second time I've dined at The Pig. It was my friend's first time and she loved the "hipster" elements! Our waitress was initially very good; however, as the evening progressed and the restaurant got busier, she was not as attentive. The food was excellent though, so I know I'll be back again sometime."

  • "Went on a date here, food was delicious and waitstaff was great. The 'tapas' are smaller portions as they are supposed to be. Not super impressed with the pate on the board, but my date enjoyed it and the face bacon was delicious. Next time will probably try more of the entrees."

  • "Face bacon was AMAZING and our server, Diana, was fantastic! Poached eggs were overcooked, but were a petty sorrow compared to the overall experience."

  • "Popular place on popular 14th Street. With the porcine theme, I expected more paleo-friendly options. But we managed fine with bacon, sausage, and eggs, substituting chard for cheese grits -- which the waitress was happy to do."

  • "The food here was unbelievable. Everything tasted delicious (perhaps because all cooked in lard??? :D ). Server was fantastic and had great recommendations. The vegetables are awesome here - so vegetarians can find a suitable option! Pork shank was the favorite amongst the group, along with many of the cocktails. HIGHLY recommend. Just be aware it's a bit loud."

  • "My first Pig experience was a bit underwhelming. We started with the sausage board, which was interesting- in a mostly good way. The pepperoni was great but the other sausages were mushy. We then ordered half a rack of ribs & macaroni and cheese- not impressed. The ribs weren't succulent/tender (as they should be) & the mac &cheese was flavorless. The sweet potato desert was also pretty boring. Despite not having the most amazing experience, I really want try the edgier menu items. I'd recommend this place just for the experience. I mean, how many pork-centric places are there & who wouldn't want to try the pig-blood pudding (I didn't but you should)? If you have $100 to blow just to say "I tried it," I'd highly reccomend this restaurant."

  • "I enjoy pig and I liked the pig dishes here. The bacon wrapped apples were awesome. The por shank was good, but I think thet shoyld have not made it crispy. The cider was a great compliment to the pork dishes. It is a nice spot casual and comfy. Had one minor complain because the price on the cider didn'tmatch the bill, but the manager fixed that up and so we went oinking along!"

  • "They were accommodating to the dietary needs I had. But there were a few flaws here and there. The food was underseasoned. The hollandaise sauce on my benedict was cold. It was low-key, nice ambience, a diverse enough menu overall."

  • "Went here for valentines Day and was very surprised and excited about the Valentines pre fixed menu. My boyfriend (not a vegetarian) split the vegetarian menu with a few extra meat dishes for him to round out the meal. Great place for fun food and drinks and loved that it was still cozy enough for a date night but not super fancy and would be great to go back with a group as well."

  • "The menu is inventive. Food is served small plate style so it is great for sharing, but a little awkward if you are not a sharer. Ive been twice and will go back."

  • "They were able to accommodate a party of 11 (I had made a reservation for 10, but even the fact that they let me make such a large reservation is commendable). When some party members showed up over 20 minutes late, they did not rush us to order. Our waitress was fantastic and attentive. And obviously the food was phenomenal. I even went with 2 vegetarians, and they seemed very satisfied with their meals."
