The PigAmazingBoth food and style of this all-american restaurant are amazing... Slow food at its best!
We'll be back for sure!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for a business lunch.Went for a business lunch. Everyone liked the food. I would definitely go again.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect spot for BrunchI went for Mothers Day Brunch, and I could not have been happier. The Service was excellent, and the food was even better.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's all about the pastramiI took my mother there for Mother's Day because she really loves hot pastrami sandwiches, and there's is really, really, and I mean really good. The server said that they didn't have it. My mother asked her to ask if there was a teeny tiny corner left. Turned out they didn't have the rye they usually serve on; the kitchen happily made her an (excellent) version on brioche. So good, so accommodating! Also the drinks are great, and so are their burgers and charcuterie. Loved it.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMust like porkI think I got the meat sweats. The food was incredibly good. Get the tasting menu and you will get to try practically everything on the menu. You won't be disappointed.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMUnpretencious delightFood food food. This place is all about, you guessed it, pig. BBQ, curry, and curied meats, the pig was the star of the night. In a comfortable atmosphere you are paying for the food itself and delicious memorable food is what you will get. Great for small-medium groups, family style eating was the way to go, you won't be disappointed. If your veggie or Kosher, while your survive, you probably won't thrive.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall VERY goodWe really enjoyed our meal here - just about everything was very tasty, and we'd order again. The crispy brussel sprouts were amazing, and if you are a fan of collard greens we thought their's were exceptional. Other selections were the crispy pork shank and burger (greasy but SUPER good!). And the lemon tartlet was just perfect for a small ending. So worth the visit!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had dinner here with threeWe had dinner here with three generations celebrating a 79th birthday, and everybody loved it. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious and surprising, and the shared dish format made it a very social dinner, and allowed everybody to sample something that they certainly wouldn't have ordered on their own. We will remember it fondly and are already trying to think of who else would enjoy it with us. Need to be somewhat adventurous eaters to really appreciate it, though the side dish of mac and cheese was the best my daughter had ever had and made her completely content.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but not worth going backDecided to go here based on the menu- it looked absolutely wonderful and my expectations were really, really high so I was a little disappointed with the lack of complexity in the food. But the service was INCREDIBLE- shout out to Daryl for his outstanding service and enthusiasm for The Pig! The only reason I won't go back is because I thought the food did not justify the prices they charged.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the unique menu, everythingLoved the unique menu, everything we ordered was delicious and unique, including the cocktails. Service was excellent.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen hearing a lot of goodBeen hearing a lot of good things about The Pig and they're all we deserved. The food was incredible and the service was equally amazing. Could not have had a better experience. Highly recommend this place to anyone.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was wonderful and staffFood was wonderful and staff was extremely helpful.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is delicious andThe food is delicious and the servers were great. I especially enjoyed the meatballs, braised pork cheek, and the porchetta. The mac 'n cheese and the boar spoonbread were also excellent.
The only drawback was that the hostess would not seat our group until everyone arrived. One member of our group was running behind. For a "shared plates" type of restaurant, it's not like we wouldn't have ordered drinks and started ordering food immediately. I can understand the policy for a tasting menu format, but here? No. We nearly walked out because of the stupidity of the situation.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great brunch spot,Always a great brunch spot, and the prices are also great. Highly recommend for a brunch that is a little more relaxed.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSooo much pig. Our favoritesSooo much pig. Our favorites were the porchetta and the beets. Yumm4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu - both food andGreat menu - both food and drink. Our large party ordered many different items from the menu - everyone loved their choices, from the cheek to the shank to the wild boar, etc. the 8 Weeks Til Slaughter house-aged Manhattan is a must.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food, interesting menugreat food, interesting menu .really enjoyed our experience and would definitely go again4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinite must try if in DCFor my first time in D.C., the PIG has left a lasting impression for pig cheek. The pig tail was not as good as the cheek, but should try it nonetheless. The mac-n-cheese is spectacular and a must try. Really enjoyed the meal as the flavors and options were grand. No problems with the service nor the bartenders.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe House of PorkI had high expectations and I left completely satiated! We had a slew of dishes and everything from the crispy brussel sprouts, porchetta, crispy pig ears, heart tartare and finishing with the orange panna cotta was awesome start to finish. Can't wait to go back and try the boar ragu and pig tails!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the food and the serviceLoved the food and the service - very comfortable and warm, quiet enough for brunch that it felt relaxing.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was exceptional. The food was exceptional. I recommend starting off with "The Big Pig" and to try some local meats, cheeses, and pickled vegetables. I've been several times and neither have let me down. I've tried the Braised Cheek, and the Porchetta and both were exceptional. The cocktails are also good, especially the Filibuster Old Fashioned. I'll be back soon.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMpigFood was great but they are heavy handed on the salt. The blood Marys were great and come with a giant slice of bacon.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSuch a great experience! Can't say enough about this place: interesting food that is absolutely delicious, outstanding beer and wine list, and certainly buzzing with activity. Staff is informed, attentive, friendly, and eager to suggest menu items. Get the braised cheek with grits...you'll thank me!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI was very pleased with myI was very pleased with my meal at the Pig. - from the awesome vibe of the restaurant to the unique menu items! If I was going to dine at The Pig, I might as well get one of the specialties, right? As long as the "brains" part doesn't weird one out too much, this dish is worth the trip and sooooo gooood!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very demanding dinerWe had a very demanding diner in our group, and Achilles handled her with ease! Special kudos to him! With a couple of non-pig eaters in the group, the vegetable dishes were greatly appreciated. We did think that the Swiss Chard and Roasted Brussels might have gotten a little bit of the salt that had been meant for the fried oyster - but, other than that an enjoyable night for all!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice restaurant withVery nice restaurant with quality food and service.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall the dishes were great,Overall the dishes were great, very fresh ingredients locally sourced. One disappointment was pork cutlet--overcooked and touch. Pigs Ears over salad surpringly good, roasted brussels sprouts sublime.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal. I didn't thinkPhenomenal. I didn't think that a meal with that much pig could be so delicious.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is EXCELLENT -- loveThe food is EXCELLENT -- love that crispy pig ear salad :) The experience is phenomenal from top to bottom - can't recommend it enough. Inventive and delicious preparations of ham, sausage, pork shank, pulled pork, you name it.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI brought a group of West-CoastersI brought a group of West-Coasters out to the Pig for dinner. I was a little nervous with how the group would take to sharing small plates, but as soon as they realized how good the food was and that they got to try some of everything on the menu they jumped right in. The next day people were still talking about the shank- which fell off the bone it was so perfectly tender and pig ear salad. Even the vegetarian in the group found plenty to love and took an order of the crispy brussel-sprouts home for lunch the next day. On top of it all they did a great job accommodating our group of ten and the bill was reasonable.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHipster scene in a good way.Hipster scene in a good way. Fantastic pig-centric menu. Can't go wrong with pork cheeks.12/30/2012 12:00:00 AMDelicious and fresh!Brunch at The Pig was one of the best brunches I've had in awhile!! The food was all so fresh and delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was cool. My eggs were so perfect and fluffy; the best scrambled eggs I've had in ages. Their funnel cake was yummy too, but I wish it had more of the raspberry syrup on it or on the plate; there was a decorative line of it around the funnel cake, but it wasn't enough to really be able to taste it.
I will definitely go back!12/9/2012 12:00:00 AM
