Diner Reviews
  • "Great happy hour spot. I recently had dinner and the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream was a great way to end the night. Delish!"

  • "First - ask for the server Jesse as he will ensure you have a rip roaring time, he has great attention to detail, and steers you to the best of the menu and libations. Pork creations are delicious, inventive and seasonal- arugula salad with peaches and pork belly was a hit. Pork shank delicious every time we order it, its always different and always great. Nice lemonades for those not imbibing."

  • "Try the small pig dishes. 2 per person is great! We also really liked the mustard greens."

  • "A friend was visiting from South Carolina so we decided to try The Pig. What a great idea. The food was excellent and our waiter, Jesse, made our dining experience fantastic. He offered to right level of interaction and was one of the most friendly and attentive wait staff experiences I've had in DC."

  • "Had never had cheeks until dinner here, as reluctant as i was, they were fantastic. Other top hits: carnitas, face bacon (yes, face) and the cauliflower. Can't go wrong with a side of mac n cheese topped withntruffle breadcrumbs- yum! Menu is conducive to plate sharing , well worth doing that to try many unusual dishes."

  • "I've been to the pig a few times and wanted to like it more than I did. This time however the food lived up to what I expected. And great, unique drinks."

  • "After half a dozen visits, The Pig has become one of my go-tos for visiting friends. Their nose-to-tail approach to their menu is delicious and fun for groups (order the Big Pig charcuterie board), it's novel (Face Bacon is a must order), and their service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed. The exposed brick and heritage alcohol tax signs are nice touches."

  • "I emailed ahead about my food allergies and they were able to accommodate them, with one small slip that was immediately and cheerfully fixed. I would definitely eat there again."

  • "our party had the specials of the day and the bacon wrapped pork loin w eggs was absolutely fabulous."
    Dined on 7/6/2014
  • "We loved the pork dishes and desserts. The pickles were Barry pickled, though. Also, please offer more whole grain options (whole grain bread, etc)."

  • "Excellent find on 14th street, fun brunch spot that isn't a 2 hour wait or packed. Good for smaller groups that enjoy food as much as a few mimosas."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "The Pig is fantastic. Inventive delicious food and such a fun experience. Don't miss the housemade pickles and swine butter; face bacon was phenonomenal."

  • "The food was great. Friendly staff, the Chef visited our table twice during the evening. Great vegetables. We will visit next trip to DC"

  • "I have never had a bad meal or service at The Pig. The is consistent and tasty. Service is excellent."

  • "We think the Sunday and Monday BBQ is a great Idea. we Loved the Pork Belly!"
    Dined on 6/30/2014
  • "Locally sourced produce and meat, nothing goes to waste, almost everything made onsite and in-house. The food was amazing, priced right and I'm totally going back again!"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Had a few items in the list because I wante to try as much as possible. The pork cheek was especially delicious, as was the carnitas salad! My friend had the hickory BBQ pulled pork and I snagged a bite - very well done! All around great meal with a great staff. Highly recommend."

  • "I've been here a few times and have rarely been disappointed. Their menu has changed focus a few times, and I think has taken a recent turn for the better. My go-to dishes of the amazing mac and cheese and face bacon are still there, but recent additions to the salad menu and new, more adventurous small plates add to a complete dinner. The heirloom tomato and burrata salad was delicious (though tiny!), as were the bacon-wrapped peaches. Don't miss happy hour; there's a full menu at the bar, and a Small Pig plate with some bread and drinks will more than satisfy."

  • "The food was ok. I wasn't jazzed by my experience. The mustard greens weren't good at all. They were too sour and very tough to chew."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "I went for the BBQ pop-up menu Sunday night, and it was great. They have an option to do a sampler-style platter for two people with 4 meats and 4 sides, which my date and I tried. Portions were a little small, but it was enough for us. A big eater could probably take down the entire thing alone, so beware. Service was great, and parking was okay for a Sunday. I'd definitely go back for more BBQ."

  • "It's a great place to go with a group of people to try out all their dishes. They encourage family style sharing...tapas style small dishes. They had a wonderful drink menu...as well as interesting non-alcoholic drinks. It was our first time to this restaurant and we all enjoyed it very much....and definitely will return."

  • "Nice, all-America eclectic feel. Eggs benedict looked amazing (friend had it), salad is kind of a misnomer (too much meat, barely any salad)."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Worth a visit but thought would have some more interesting options with regard to the animal in question."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "My friend and I had dinner here and we were in and out in under an hour! Seriously. We placed our orders and probably 5-10 minutes later our food was in front of us. It was so good, that is was gone quicker than it got there (we didn't really eat that fast, but you know what I mean). Great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The Moroccan mint sweet tea is a great tea, but has a strong spearmint flavor."

  • "This place has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The dishes are amazing, drinks divine, and the service is on-point. You can't go wrong."

  • "I took clients who'd never been before and they really enjoyed - and our waiter was superb and engaging without being overbearing!"
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Went for brunch on Father's Day with my husband. Sat at the bar (we don't have kids, just wanted good food), and waited a while before being greeted. Then, upon greeting, we ordered our drinks, and an app to start, and looking down at the pre-placed silverware, I asked for another set for us because they were dirty. The bartender then sarcastically asked if I would like a new paper napkin as well. I was offended and it was not necessary, but I let it go. The bloody mary was fantastic, but the pork was dry and overcooked. I wouldn't recommend it, at least not for brunch or service, and won't be headed back anytime soon."

  • "The Pig never disappoints and this experience was no exception. We took my dad there for Fathers' Day. Everyone had something delicious - my husband even got the "small shank" special - it took him two sittings, but he destroyed that shank and it was supposedly delicious (he didn't share any ...). I got the BBQ Pork Benedict and I will definitely be dreaming about that for a few days ... And our server was amazing. I can't wait to go back and eat more delicious pig products!"

  • "As per usual, The Pig did not disappoint. Incredible small bites include the Face Bacon, the Mac & Cheese, and the Wild Boar & Berries, each mouth watering and comfort inducing in their own right. Always walk away full and happily satisfied."

  • "We'd been excited to try The Pig for months, but it exceeded our expectations. The food was to die for."
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "Everything was ridiculously delicious. However, I have to add that this is definitely a place where you need to be ready to spend a good bit of money, which I wasn't entirely prepared for when I came in. Definitely try the mac and cheese, it might be the best I've ever had. The face bacon was tasty, but I felt like it crossed the line from "fatty" into "chunk of fat with a small bit of meat holding it together". The pulled pork and pork chops were phenomenal, and coleslaw was top-notch - very fresh and tangy. Just keep in mind that when they tell you the plates for sharing are small servings, they're small. You'll definitely need at least two per person. Service was great - attentive but not overbearing."

  • "First off, the service was exemplary. I dined at the bar and the waitress there was awesome. Her dining and drink recommendations were perfect. In general the place has a great vibe. The menu is robust, with categories like 'Pig', 'Less pig', 'Farm & Salads', 'Greens and Starches', but at the same time yet understated. I had the Bacon and Burrata, which was great although there was a little too much burrata. However, the cheek was some of the best I've had in a long time. I will definitely be returning to The Pig."

  • "Can not say enough good things about this place, great food, wonderful drinks and excellent service. Our server recommend the Pulled Pork Benedict for and Pork and Steaks for my boyfriend...both were OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! Bartender also whips up a wickedly tasty Bloody Mary complete with habenero vodka and goat cheese stuffed olives :)"

  • "There are a lot of food options on 14th street, the Pig is one of the best. It's hard to go wrong."
    Dined on 6/8/2014
  • "The menu is a bit unusual but the food was excellent. And the service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We had the burger with potato salad with a side of mac and cheese. Everything was very good. Noise level allowed normal conversation. Just had a good time with good food."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "We love the Pig, being an Iowa Boy and they do the animal justice. The sausage burger with egg and bacon was great the pulled pork was sweet tender and juicy"

  • "Yet another casual restaurant on 14th Street, with great service, very good food and a relaxed setting. We went with the tasting menu and it was far more hits than misses. It was our first visit and I will definitely be back to explore the regular menu."

  • "Delicious array of pig-based platters and creative individual meals"

  • "This place is one of my favorites and they never let me down. Creative menu items, awesome drinks, great staff -- just to name a few of the highlights of this place. And if you can ever do one of their tasting events -- DO IT! I will ALWAYS sign up to participate. One of the best restaurants in DC!"
