Outstanding Restaurant. Best in South Jersey. Great selection of seafood dishes and appetizers. Nothing overcooked and done with care to ensure one enjoys the quality of the food prepared. Beats many high end restaurants in Philadelphia. A must go restaurant in Cape May

  • Mixed Reviews from our party of 12

We went on a Tuesday night in October. Most people were seated in booths in the bar area. We were seated in the dining room at a rectangular table for our party of 12. I had the Octopus as an appetizer and so did 3 others. It was spectacular. The lamb riblets were tasty and done perfectly.. The Sea bass entree and the Tuna entree were outstanding as was the veal chop. Two in the party ordered swordfish and did not eat it. It was terrible. They should have sent it back but they did not. Too bad, because our waiter was excellent and I think he would have gladly brought something else if he had known. Pretty good wine list.

This is our go to place for an excellent meal. The service and food are both outstanding. The lamb shank is to die for as is the octopus, swordfish, filet,............. Excellent wine list as well. Outdoor dining is great. It does tend to be a bit noisy on weekend evenings, but tolerable

I have been going to Cape May with my mom for several years, and every time we go, I like to eat dinner at The Pier House on our last night. The food is consistently delicious; I can tell that the chef takes pride in using fresh, high quality ingredients - and skillfully combines them into delectable dishes. They serve good bread with a hummus spread that is heavenly! My favorite entrée is the salmon - pan seared, served over yummy mashed baby Yukon potatoes, sautéed spinach, grilled asparagus - and topped with two incredibly delicious sauces. I would highly recommend this restaurant which specializes in Mediterranean seafood.

Our friends came to Cape May the day before we did, and they had dinner here. They raved about it so much that we all went there a few days later. From the warm greeting at the door to the waiters thanks and handshake at the end, the service and the food were great. I don't usually like Feta cheese, but on the watermelon and feta salad, it was delicious. The lamp lollipops and the sea bass were prepared with skill, imagination, and great ingredients. Our waiter was busy, but that did not get in the way of his graciousness and attentiveness. Oh, I almost forgot, the creme brulee pie was the highlight! Ask for it even if it's not on the dessert tray.

Seated right away and the waitress to the table soon after. She was very friendly and in-formable. Willing to adjust the dish to food sensitivities. Although my son joined us late, everything came out timely. Food came out hot, delicious and well presented. Salmon was seasoned well with lots of flavor and cooked perfectly. The lamb shank was tasty and perfect for a big appetite. Whole fish was excellent and easy enough to fillet yourself. Salads and appetizers were all excellent. The scallop and the octopus appetizers were amazing. No complaints from anyone and everyone enjoyed their dishes. All agreed that we would return again for another great meal. A great find in Cape May!

We have dinner at the Pier House once a year when we come to Cape May and it has always been one of the best meals of our stay. There were about 6 other tables when we arrived at 7:30 but Gary's service was excellent and efficient. We had the lamb lolly chop app, the glaze and the feta mash were the perfect compliment and nori tuna which was light and refreshing. For dinner we had the swordfish, which was one of the best pieces I have ever had and the whole red snapper which was very good too. The atmosphere is not like any other restaurant in Cape May, it feels European-ish and more sophisticated though it is right across from the beach. From all of the high price restaurants in Cape May, this one is worth it!

We had another excellent meal at pier House. Lovely Fried cheese app, delish Leek/crab soup and Calamari with 3 dipping sauces. Loved the Pear martini. I had some of the best crab cakes, my parents had a swordfish special that was very fresh and nicely prepared. My husband had a steak dish, which he loved. Crazy good pumpkin cheesecake, and very rich peanut butter desert. Also, we liked the bread, it was a grain bread and it was soft and fresh. Excellent, knowledgable server lady.

Pier Four is convenient if you have a car, with on-street parking but no meters. It's a pleasant room with abstract paintings; it's a shame the original owners didn't build it two feet higher to be able to look over the dunes/walk and see the water. Menu is an excellent choice of mainly fish, but my wife had an excellent and large lamb shank. There are Greek favorites here, but they don't dominate the menu. the major fish dishes are served whole, requiring you to de-bone and eat carefully; my branzino was worth it. Excellent wine list. Service was excellent. This is a full match for the best restaurants in Cape May

Four of us ate well at the Pier House. Portions almost alarmingly large, i.e. enough very tasty calamari as an appetizer for 3/4 people. Nominally Greek food, but everything well prepared. Quality restaurant. Server was still learning his job. Comfortable well appointed dining area. Away from downtown Cape May. Easy parking. Well worth another visit.

I came back to the Pier House again with a group of 6 persons hoping we would have the same experience as we had last year. We were not disappointed. We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated on time. The appetizers, main courses, wine and dessert were all fantastic. The service was without issue. Unfortunately we all do not live in the area so we more than likely will not return for another year.

Pier House specializes in seafood with a Greek touch. The menu includes a good selection of fish prepared in different styles, as well as a variety of shellfish entrees. We had the Mahi Mahi Plaki and Swordfish "skaras", both of which were excellent. The noise level is a bit high, but the location across the street from the beach provides a view of the ocean from most seats. We go there a couple of times a year, especially for special occasions.

We had a great dinner for four of us at The Pier House. The meatball and sausage appetizers were perfectly seasoned, and sausage was interestingly plated. My husband loved his deep fried branzino entrée; the tuna was very good. We like the "out of the center of town" location of this restaurant. I wouldn't call it romantic or a particularly interesting ambience. But the food is terrific; the service is efficient and friendly; and the menu is more creative and interesting than many of the other Cape May highly rated places. Nice to have the bar, too. All good.

The atmosphere was lovely at the Pier House which only complimented the absolutely fantastic food! The Pier House was recommended to us by a realtor we were working with in Ocean City and she did not steer us wrong. My daughter, who is 16, said it was the best meal she ever ate and I would agree. The service was also second to none. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were right on point. We can't wait to go back there and dine again!

We were looking for a good meal in Cape May. Stumbled across this place, made an early res and lucked out. Had to convince staff to set an outside round table as a 4-top, had a nice waitress who is also a serious professional stage dancer, and were blown away by the food. We were early enough that the outside patio was empty, but it had filled 90 minutes later when we left. Baked cheese/tomato was delish, assorted dips were interesting, the apps (lamb and shrimp) two of us ate were very, very good, the Mahi was excellent (would have liked a larger portion) and the desserts were scrumptious. We are coming back!

A friend recommended Pier House after going to a small dinner party there the week prior, and sold me when she described the watermelon/feta salad. We are 3 foodies that cook and enjoy getting ideas from the restaurants we go to every few weeks. They have a great wine menu, a fantastic "specialty drink" menu, and every option on the menu sounded appetizing. We all ordered appetizers and main dishes (as well as specialty drinks) and every one was top notch. We sat outside where it was beautiful, with a great view of the ocean, and it was quiet. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist trying one of their desserts : the creme brûlée CAKE. (Who ever heard of that? ). We shared one (which was more than enough) and left sated and happy.

We visit the pier house at least twice a season while on vacation. We have been coming to this restaurant since it was Waters Edge. It was great back then and has only gotten better now under the ownership of Pier House. We hope it remains as is forever. My family, including teenage boys and friends look forward to dining here every year. The food is outstanding, as well as each dish being of work of art. The view through every window is priceless. Nice wine list. Great coffee. Always professional wait staff.

Watermelon Feta salad & Shrimp cocktail perfect start to a meal we thought we would never enjoy as 2 waitstaff continuously walked past us for 15-20 mins after we were seated with menus & neither acknowledged our presence! An astute bus boy asked if we had been helped & notified waitress who never apologized for the wait. Both had absolutely delious sea bass for entrée, compliments to the chef! Cape May is a food town, and this place is a lesser known gem! Incredible Greek food. Excelent service, friendly staff. The watermelon feta salad is worth the trip alone. Tried various appetizers (our fave's were the Keftedies(sp) Greek Meatballs with tatziki)! The braised Lmb shank melted in your mouth. Right on Beach ave. There is outside or inside seating during the summer. View is of the duens. Very modern decor.
