The Pickled Heron
What a gemThis is a must for those of you that crave unique experiencesThe food was masterful ! TheFoie Gras melted in your mouth so much my 13 year old wanted another order . The selection of food was unusual and interesting and the flavors were perfect ! The Black Sea Bass was cooked perfectly as were the Duck and Steak along with all other food we consumed which was almost all on the menu . Please go give these chefs your business and help Fishtown become the next great food area in Philly e! These guys are pioneers over there. Long live the Heron!!!!!Kudos to the excellent staff as well very knowledgable and friendly6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat findWe have been here several times in the past few months and have always been totally satisfied with the excellent food and service. Daniela and Todd are a wonderful team with their creativity and use of local ingredients. The menu is ever changing. The scallops and steak bavette are a special treat, as is the wild striped bass.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMRare find in the coeur du FishtownContinually on the up-and-up, Fishtown now boasts plenty of delicious eateries, though few compare to the fine dining experience that one will find at The Pickled Heron. With the creation of a French-inspired menu, this restaurant offers unique, intriguing, and flavorful dishes that most will really enjoy. Although the menu is somewhat limited (compared to many restaurants that often have an overly gratuitous selection), it is sufficiently diverse to please everyone in your party.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our third visit andThis was our third visit and our dinner was just as enjoyable as the first two. Food is wonderfully prepared and presented. Servers and staff outstanding without being intrusive. Place settings are lovely. The Pickled Heron is off the beaten path, but that's why they make GPSs.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful Neighborhood GemI went to the Pickled Heron for Mother's Day brunch with no idea what to expect, and it was wonderful. Parking was easy, and the inside of the restaurant itself is beautiful, bright yellow and inviting. We were seated right away and throughout the meal, the service was timely and friendly. I had the duck confit eggs benedict and it was delicious, specifically the house made english muffin. Another member of the party had the lobster roll, which was made with too much tarragon, it was hard to taste the lobster. The French press coffee was delicious and the homemade jam served with bread was wonderful as well. Overall, I'd definitely go back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways love the Pickled HeronI have been here a few times- and I have never had anything that wasn't phenomenal. As someone who is fortunate enough to dine out frequently, and live in a "food city", the Pickled Heron is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. I love the local and seasonal choices, and the chefs are amazing at coming up with new spins on classic dishes. The revolving menu means that there are always different menu items, and they never disappoint! Everyone I have ever brought here raves about the food! The local art on the walls (changed monthly, maybe?) is just another facet to remind the customer that this is a place that is invested in the here & now, keeping in line with their menu.

Large portions -- but hard to resist eating everything. Delicious scallops, bavette (cooked perfectly), duck breast - great salad -- charcuterie is always excellent. A wonderful spot!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe never heard of the restaurantWe never heard of the restaurant but found it on Open Table. We started off with Cream of Potato soup, a satisfying starter. For dinner I had sirloin of lamb with an interesting. delicious side. The sirloin was cooked precisely as asked for.It was flavorful and came with a wonderful sauce. My wife had a brace of quails with swiss chard and a quinoa stuffing topped with a complementary sauce. She claimed it to be extraordinary. The desserts was well worth the calories. Creme brulee made with a duck egg, was all that one expects but seldom gets when ordering this dish. The opera cake was rich and wonderful. The server was professional and helpful. The cost, a bargain for the quality. Can't wait to go back again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food in FishtownThe food here is truly outstanding. First time had the sea scallops- cooked perfectly- and this past Saturday had the beef and it was seriously the best dish I've had in a long time. Dessert, the creme brulee is a dream. If I could have gotten away with licking to bowl clean in public, I would have done it- it was that good. The place is quiet, artsy, fine dining at it's best. Highly recommended!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time that we have beenFirst time that we have been there. Many people have raved about it who are foodies and I agree this is a great find.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative tasty menu, delicateCreative tasty menu, delicate and warm service, BYOB and free parking are a plus.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAn enjoyable addition to theAn enjoyable addition to the Fishtown neighborhood. This takes it up a notch from the strength of this neighborhood which is great gastropubs serving up high quality and inventive comfort food with microbrews. We enjoyed the scallops with kale and the vegetable bolognese. The flavors mixed well and the presentation was beautiful. It is high quality food and byob so well worth the trip. Highly recommended.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA little bit of France in FishtownThough the place is small, the food is that of larger high style restaurant with prices that are reasonable. The baby green salad with beet chips and pickled carrots is great way to start your meal and any of the entrees are great followups. Its a bit of France in the middle of Fishtown.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic meal at this charmingFantastic meal at this charming Fishtown BYOB! Warm, welcoming and professional staff.
