As this eatery now occupies the space that was previously home to one of Edmonton's more noteworthy, established restaurants, the Copper Pot, some diners familiar with the predecessor might find themselves biased when considering what the Phork has to offer Edmonton's dining scene that the Copper Pop never did. Well, I never dined at the Copper Pot, so I am rather useless in that regard. However, I am confident about the following things that the Phork does quite well: 1. Offers an inviting, contemporary atmosphere without any pretension. 2. Offers top-notch, attentive, professional service. 3. Serves properly-prepared, creative, tasty dishes. 4. Offers price points for any budget. I hope that the Phork sticks around awhile.

While service was prompt, the waiter we had didn't know what was on the menu. I had the pork chop and it was extremely dry and tough, so I wouldn't recommend that particular item. For an "authentic" Italian place, there were 2 pasta dishes offered. I would have ordered dessert, but the 2 dessert items we chose were not available. I was less than impressed with our experience.

I had heard alot of advertising for the Phork and had looked up the menu and was really looking forward to trying it. While the food was good it wasn't fantastic. The best way to describe the restaurant would be average. The only really disappointing item was the Creme Brulee which had broken/separated when we broke through the sugar coating. The waiter was great and took the dessert off our bill without us asking. I don't think I would return to this restaurant.

I had heard mixed reviews, went in with a hopefully opinion, everything about the whole experience was just. "Good" pork tenderloin was decent nothing special , waiter was the same, decent but didn't go out of his way to make it a GREAT experience. It's just another average rest in my eyes.

Service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Other than the grilled Caesar salad that was delicious, the entrees were only mediocre. The dessert needs a lot of improvement, especially the strawberry cream puffs. Also, restaurant doesn't offer decaf latte, which personally, isn't acceptable for a fine dining restaurant.

I was looking forward to eating here, had been to the Cooperpot and liked the atmosphere. We had the calamari, pasta special and peach tenderloin. The appie was promising, good flavor and very tasty. But the mains were let downs, pasta skin was too thick and tenderloin was over cooked. The service was great, waiter was friendly and polite.

We have been to the Phork for lunch twice and both times the food and service were excellent. The menu is not large, but they offer some good daily specials that are unique and are normally a great choice. The grilled caesars salad is very good and can be chosen as a side dish with many of the lunch items. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a wall of windows with great views of the river valley, high level bridge and legislature grounds.

Overall, found the dining experience enjoyable. Food was good but not great. However, the ambience is different, great view and a place I would probably enjoy on a cold winter evening. Parking was confusing. After we drove around finding a place on the street 2 blocks away we were told we could park underground right at the restaurant. The signage (or lack of) for the parking is anything but clear regarding whether if you are allowed to use it if you are unsure. All in all, we will return again at some point.

We chose to have our anniversary dinner at the Phork. This was our second visit, so we were already repeat customers. Our first visit was in March, before the trees had leaves. At that time, one could very clearly see the bridge and the lights of the university. During this most recent visit, all the trees were fully covered, so there was not as much of a view of the river valley. This was a great locale prior to watching the Light the Bridge and fireworks displays. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere was romantic, and the food was tasty.

I booked this restaurant for 14 people without having been there before. It was a little tricky to find, but we had amazing service from Natasha, the meals were delicious, and the live music was just perfect. I would recommend the huge portion of the ribs, and the Mac and cheese balls for an appetizer. Both a pleasant surprise.

Our waiter was great. Food was yummy and you can't beat the view. The one thing that made the place seem seedy was the bus boy sitting at the bar sucking back a bottle of beer watching soccer in plain view in work wear. Even if he was done his shift, this killed that upscale, special evening feeling.

The dining area was hot and humid. If it was not for a couple mentioning it we would have sweated through our meal. Our server seemed to be overwhelmed and could not remember to bring more than 1 drink at a time let alone bring that 1 drink we asked to ease her workload. Food? Well... Not the greatest perhaps it was cold. Raviolli was chewy like a pyrogy. Tiramisu!!! That rocked! I would only come here for that! Way to go mama Maione! Always suspect of a place with a lot of tables open late in the week. Overall the meal was fine, but value per dollar was very poor. For between $30-37 per entree I was expecting a lot more. The service again was fine, but not outstanding when a couple spends $170 on dinner for 2 in a slow restaurant.

Everything from the time we got to the Restaurant, to the time we left was amazing; Service was great, the starters we had were fantastic (Mussels and the Soup of the Day) the mains ( Peach Stuffed Pork Tenderloin, and the Bison burger) are a must have. For Dessert we had the Chocolate Torte a little rich but good and The Passion Fruit Creme Brulee very good! We will be back for sure to try more and take in the awesome view again. It was a great night out away from our boys. Will be recommending this restaurant to all of our friends and family.

We had a gift certificate from our Realtor plus I had heard of this new restaurant and wanted to try it. I wanted to enjoy it since it was a gift. View was excellent and so was the decor. It looks like this should be a great place. Halibut and bacon soup was bland with poor ratio of bacon to halibut. It was a whole lot of meh. Bacon flavor could have permeated the creamy broth mixing with the subtlety of the halibut. Next was the bison burger. It was dry which makes sense since bison is somewhat hard to cook. They could use some practice. Also the bin was soggy on the bottom and really crusty on the top. Perhaps it was stale. One of my co diners had the same issue with her bun. Overall a great spot; not good value for the money

The food, service and ambience was a lot more that I expected. It's so nice to see staff that is trained in the art of serving. Professional serving seems to becoming a dying art. I felt like my patronage was really appreciated, and the staff really cared about making my evening as enjoyable as possible. I think the manager made it to every table. The live guitarist was a nice touch and the view was amazing. I will certainly return and will not hesitate to recommend this wonderful restaurant to others.

It could be a romantic dining experience but the manager was very unprofessional . He was not only was playing hide and seek with our waitress but was also LOL ing very Loudly very often by the area with wine glasses! It was very annoying . The food was good but overpriced for the ambience . Very disappointed in this place. The chocolate brownie dessert was good and a large portion. ( great for sharing)

Beef carpaccio was great. Fish cakes needed some kind of acidity or brightness added. Our server had no real idea what the pasta special was, neither did the other server we heard describe it. The pasta dish was a bit too sweet and needed salt. Tiramisu wasn't boozy enough.. The creme brulee needed more sugar on top for a bit thicker crust. It was an alright meal, but very hit and miss.

Waitress spilled water on chair and dropped utensils on floor. There was a wine special on Tuesday's for 50% off, we were told that if we used the group on coupon they would not honour the wine discount. The wine menu is way overpriced. We ordered a shrimp Patron appetizer. It was cold, tasteless, there was no hint of Patron Tequila. My wife and I each had the halibut, it too was tasteless, overcooked and dry. It came with 5 green beans and mashed potatoes for $33. Again overpriced! I was told they accepted all major credit cards when I called. This was not the case, my Amex was REFUSED! Good thing my wife had a different credit card or we would have been scrambling to pay for this substandard meal. My wife still insisted on tipping. Hummm!
