THE PENTHOUSE at The Huntley Hotel, a breathtaking restaurant and ultra lounge, with beach cabanas, open skies, silver bars, and open flames. Famed designer Thomas Schoos (best known for his work on restaurants such as Koi and TAO New York/Las Vegas) has teamed up with executive chef Seth Greenburg, to manifest a new visual celebration of the senses. The Penthouse features a contemporary American Menu with bold global influences. Chef Greenburg who draws inspiration from the foods of France, Spain and beyond, presents a menu utilizing seasonal ingredients sourced from the Santa Monica farmers markets combined with unique ingredients from across the globe. This innovative menu includes dishes such as Crispy Duck Confit with Shaved Apple, Arugula and Black pepper Gastrique; Charred Octopus with Cannellini Beans and Spring onion Chimichurri; New Zealand Snapper with Potato Gnocchi and Steamed Clams; House Cured Charcuterie; Natural Premium Angus Beef.   • "Excellent food. Ordered the blueberry muffin french toast and the salmon flatbread. They were both delicious, but the french toast was AMAZING. Nice view of the beach from where you're sitting. Valet is very reasonable. $6 for 3 hours that you can have stamped after your meal. I would definitely go back to The Penthouse Restaurant!"

  • "We had a very nice lunch at The Penthouse. We had delicious appetizers of crab cakes and calamari. The short rib and grilled cheese sandwich was good. The sea bass was very good. We did have dessert of chocolate cake which was a little dry and the profiteroles that were just so delicious. Our server was nice and did check on us a few times but could have been a little more attentive in this establishment. Overall we did have a lovely lunch with a beautiful view."

  • "I'll keep this short... We booked a table through Open Table for 8:30. On arrival at 8:30 we were told there would be a small delay, maybe 20 minutes. Two hours later, after approaching the desk 7 times to hear the same feeble excuses that other folk had arrived late so everything was running late, we finally got a table - that's 10:30pm when we were supposed to be at our next location!! There was little apology other than comp'd drinks (which were offered after 90 mins and several complaints but took 3 reminders to actually appear!). The food was average. Don't bother coming here for dinner - just use the bar to access the great views."

It may have been an off night for the kitchen as the waiter seemed very flustered about the delays, but we didn't get food until 45 minutes after we placed our order which consisted of two steaks cooked medium rare. The view is lovely though and the bar area is very comfortable with great service."

The restaurant side of the Penthouse was beautiful, with dim lighting, candle light, and the gorgeous details like chandeliers and the furnishings. The bar side was noisy and full of your young, hip crowd, but once we were seated, it was nice. My only complaint was that we couldn't get the seating we really wanted, even with a reservation. The servers were attentive, but extremely busy."

  • "Hands down the most beautiful restaurants I've been to! My boyfriend and I had a great experience. I ordered the salmon which was excellent and he ordered the NY strip which he claims to be "the best steak I have ever had". We had dinner with a glass of Veuve Cliquot, which by the way is the best champagne! Our server was friendly and excellent. Bathroom was gorgeous as well! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends, family, and lovers. Amazing all around! My boyfriend and I will be back."

  • "I guess this place attracts people because of its views (at least that's why I was attracted). I got the blueberry french toast and it tasted like a poorly cooked prepackaged, frozen breakfast, with an overly sweet sugary blueberry topping. I cannot believe they serve such an item."

We loved the mushroom pizza, shrimp cobb, pappardelle cacciatore, and warm chocolate black out cake. YUMMY!! We found the flat iron steak a bit tough to eat. Overall, a place we would come back--it's special. "

The have created a "sardine" eating expeience which completely negates what "amibience remains. The menu has changed and was "mediocre" at best. "

Food is always great I've seen menu changes and love them all.As far as service I've had 1 prior incident regarding a big party table and last Saturday night. I was taking my best friend visiting from out of town she was so exciting cause I always The Penthouse. We had a reservation at 10:45P and got there on time. But we still had to wait for our table even though there were many empty tables.She said your server Nicki is off tonight. We never got bread or butter, we order a pizza and fries to share and 2 mello mojitos. The service was slow and we never got our fries. It took forever for the check and she still charged us for the fries we got tired of waiting for her so we just left. "

Last time I was there a few years back the food was just ok. The view of course it remind us why we love California. This time salmon w capers was outstanding, and 'chilaquiles best in the world'. However the best part was the service, so friendly, fast and accurate. Price was fair. "

If you want to leave broke & hungry this is your place:) my husbands capellini tasted like something I'd make for my picky 5 year old & the $45 rose was a $6 buy at trader joes. View obviously gorgeous & waitress was wonderful but that can't overlook the obvious. Stay away from this 'license to print money' establishment!"

The Chopped Salad was just as described--beautifully presented and so good. Also 4 egg plates offered on the lunch menu, thus one could enjoy a late breakfast into the afternoon!   • "It was a delightful first time dining experience for my family's Mother's Day celebration. Once the elevator doors open into The Penthouse you know this place is awesome. My wife and kids felt extra special being able to walk into a fine dining establishment as this. Our server was very polite and attentive. The prix fixe Mother's Day menu choices we ate were plated artfully, as well as delicious and mouthwatering. I would return back here again with my wife on a date night. "

  • "Food great and drinks great. Service slow. Got there at 515 pm for6 pm resv and had To wait in bar for 45 mins. When table was ReDy at 6 pm it was 12 feet from where We sat in the bar and table was empty while We sat in bar. Why not let us just sut there? Hot in the room. No ac on. Sun so bright in Your face tou cant see. Not great but views ok. "
