  • "The service was mediocre at best. Our waiter checked on us once and I asked for another soda water- it never made an appearance - nor did he. The heirloom and burrata salad had the hardest tomatoes I have ever seen. They were like apples. The veal chop was excellent- as was the bone marrow appetizer. The filet was tough. The restaurant is way too expensive to be that spotty."

  • "The music was very loud (even at 5:30) when I specifically called to ask if the music would be loud at that time because we had a work meeting for dinner. I was told it would be suitable for conversation, however even when we asked them to turn the house music down (because we were nearly the only party there at 5:30) they did not turn it down. I would go here for dinner when I did not need to have a real conversation."

  • "The staff was very friendly but our main server was a little slow. My 12oz filet was cooked perfect for what I asked and was an excellent piece of meat. Very tender with a lot of flavor and zero fat, just the way I like it. The cream corn was a little salty but still very appetizing. The broccoli was a little undercooked for my liking and it needed some butter on it, other than that, everything was delicious."

We've been to Mastros many times and this is the first time we had such bad service. We love Mastros but never again at the Penthouse."

  • "I've been a long time customer of Mastros and while not always perfect, it is usually always very good. I always order the bone in ribeye as it's my favorite cut of steak and they do it really well here. The seafood tower is great but very pricey. I was charged $39 for half pound of crab, which i thought was actually the worst shellfish out of the bunch. But if price is no object, this is definitely one of the top steakhouses in the city."

  • "A LITTLE TO LOUD FOR US, BUT THERE WAS ONLY 3 OF US AND WE DID OK. FOOD IS SPECTACULAR. I COULD PASS ON THE DRY ICE EFFECT ON THE SEAFOOD. THIS IS THE 3RD MAESTROS LOCATION I HAVE VISITIED, AND MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT I FELT VERY CRODED AND HAD TO SIT AT A BAR LEVEL COUNTER DESPITE MAKING RESERVATIONS MANY WEEKS AHEAD. I THINK I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A NICE WINDOW TABLE AT REGULAR LEVEL AND NOTHAVE TO SIT ON BAR STOOLD FOR DINNER. I WILL GO BACK WITH ANOTHER COUPLE AGAIN, BUT BE BETTER WAWARE THAT IS IS VERY LOUD."

  • "Maestros is one of my favorite places to go for special occasions. The 18oz bone in filet is the best thing on the menu and make sure you order the Brussel sprouts and Mac n cheese for sides. The steak is served on a hot plate so I wouldn't get it more than medium as it will cook on the plate. Leave some room for the butter cake which will blow your mind."

  • "I've dined at Mastros before and ordered one of their regular steaks. I remember the steak being so incredibly delicious that even though I was extremely full, I wanted to keep eating it. However, when I took my fiance here for our 4 yr anniversary, the waiter (who was really great, by the way) gave us their specials for the day -- one being a kobe steak that could be shared by two people ($97). He kept talking about how flavorful the steak was. We were so excited to try such a flavorful steak, we went with the suggestion. The steak came, and yes, it was enough for 2 people (we ordered 3 sides & a salad, had we not, we'd still be hungry). There was pretty much no flavor in the steak. We were extremely disappointed.   • "I have been to Maestro's many times but this was my first visit toggle penthouse. The highlights worth noting are, first, the amazing butter cake for dessert. Worth every extra minute you'll have to spend at the gym Secon highlight, the service. Jessie was great; she was friendly, attentive, patient, and knowledgable. The only negative is that they either need a bit more light on the table so you can read the menu or change the menu format. It is dark."

  • "Mastros never disappoints from the greeting at the front door all the way through the butter cake topped with whipped cream you can not be disappointed. 400 degree plates make your sides sizzle and your heart race. My steak was cooked to perfection. The wine list & long & lean. Our waiter was AMAZING, charming, funny, knowledgable and there at any moment we could possibly need him. My water glass re-filled after each sip, sometimes with a server standing nearby (but not too close for comfort) waiting for me to place my glass down. The wine kept flowing & the food never ended. Love this place! My favorite steak house in Los Angeles since the moment I sat down in 2006. I <3 you Mastros & will be back! Thanks for exceptional service once again"

  • "I chose to sit outside.. Placed at the smaller patio area. Most ppl wouldn't prefer this but my group did. We were away from other ppl and our group was vaping since no one else sat around us, meaning no one to bother. They have a dj that played good music and it was an overall awesome night. 3 bottles of champagne, able to be loud and obnoxious , chill and drink. Our waiter James was dope. Massive steaks and sides, seafood tower and what seem to never end our champagne. Perfect night."

  • "THE 3RD FLOOR IS VERY DARK, TO READ THE MENU EVERYONE WAS USING CELL PHONES FOR LIGHT. THE MUSIC WAS SO LOUD, CONVERSATION AT THE TABLE WAS NONE- EXISTENT. I ORDERED THE SALMON, WHICH WAS BLAND AND DRY. THE MASH POTATOES WERE RUNNY, AND DRIPPED THROUGH THE FORK ONTO MY CLOTHES. THE STEAKS WERE NICE BUT NOTHING GREAT........ I WOULD HAVE SENT BACK THE FOOD, BUT WE HAD INVITED FRIENDS TO CELEBRATE A BIRTHDAY AND I DID NOT WANT TO SPOIL HER EVENING SINCE IT HAD BEEN HER SUGGESTION WE DINE AT MASTRO'S."

Service was outstanding, and the lobster mashed potatoes and truffle oil infused gnocchi were to die for...as we were waiting for our car, three mobster look-alikes breezed by wanting to know if we were waiting to see Paulie... Right out of the Sopranos. Must have been actors. We highly recommend Mastro"s. The steaks were superb."

  • "I was highly upset first they bring my son a burnt steak on the outside and pink on the in side I informed my waiter that we had a plane to catch and she never came back to the table until it was time to bring the check then she uses my credit card on some else order then I had to wait a addition 15 for them to fix it and I never got a apologize just a your rite bye the airport u will get there in no time well she was wrong cause we missed our flight and we where not going to lax but to long beach just bad service"
