Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I were pleased with our overall dining experience. Great ambience, service and breakaway from the average menu."

  • "Good food. Good Service. Good time! You have to eat here!"

  • "Saul restaurant on Atlanta Eats television show. My wife saw the pecan pie and had to go. Went there on a Saturday at opening about six. The food was superb I had the shrimp and grits. It was the best ship shrimp and grits I've ever had in my life and I have tried that entrée all over the United States and abroad. That was the best hands down. My wife had the salmon and she said that was the best salmon she ever had. She really enjoy the pecan pie. The only downside to my visit was that I wanted a slice of sweet potato pie to take home but it was not ready and we had to leave after waiting 15 minutes for it. Overall I would recommend this restaurant and give it five stars."

  • "The food was exceptional and presentation beautiful. The service was excellent. I couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate the birthday my loved one. This restaurant is a gem!!!"

  • "I thought that the restaurant was situated strategically so as to enhance the expectation of the customers. This means that the expectations were exceeded considering the location and the interior design. The personal was quite good with knowledge of the menu and the knowledge of extemporaneous aspects pertaining to the components of the menu. I was overall pleased."

  • "great service and food, but too pricey for what we ordered and received"

  • "Only one vegetable was offered with the specials. Waiter was also the bar tender. Waiter did not check on us after the large party converged on the bar. Another waiter got dessert & check for us."

  • "Everything was great! I had the shrimp and pepper jack grits, as well as the crab cake appetizer and both were out of this world. In fact. The food and service was so excellent, I returned for the same entrees right before taking my flight back home. When I visit Atlanta again The Pecan will definitely be one restaurant that I repeat!"

  • "While on a stop over in Atlanta i found this place on open table. I convinced an Atlanta native to pick me up at the hotel. They had no idea this place existed. What a great neighborhood gem. I will be back and of course so will the Atlanta native. This Resturant is worth the trip"

  • "I feel bad for anyone who has never experienced The Peacan. The food is perfection, the service is exemplary and atmosphere is welcoming."

  • "This is the best resturant meal I have had in a long time. When we arrived at 6:00 there were only a few tables occupied. By the time we left it was full but the noise level was not bad. My friend and I shared a wedge salad- it was great. The blue cheese dressing was tangy with a bit of sweetness. It was a perfect size to share. For my entree I had one of the specials- a grilled pork chop. It was being served with jasmine rice but I asked for risotto which came with another special- it was no problem. The friend had another special- stuffed chicken. We shared the peach cobbler for desert. With one glass of wine the bill was $80 plus tip. If you are near airport coming or going or not- this is worth going out of way for!!!"

  • "Great food in Historic College Park. Great atmosphere in an old building near historic train station. It was vibrant with a lot of young professionals and was not too noisy. The lamb chop and fish entrees were wonderful. I would recommend it highly."

  • "A true gem on the south side of town. Intimate setting with great food. The food was delicious with an unexpected twist like the pecan crusted shrimp cocktail. Dinner portions are generous, in fact, we enjoyed our crabcake and fried lobster tail the next day."

  • "I took an old friend to a restaurant near the airport as he and his wife were departing to return to Texas. Most of my "go to"s are in north Atlanta and midtown. I had seen a review of Pecan on a tv show. It was all of the high review they gave, impressed my friends. We loved the crabcakes and my duck was one of the best I have ever had. Only problem was the high volume of noise exacerbated by the charming bricks, making quiet conversation difficult. Our waiter, Cedric, was one of the best servers I have experienced. He was knowledgeable of the menu, helpful with selections, and attentive. He is a huge resource for the restaurant. I am now a raving fan and will be talking about it for weeks."

  • "The food was great, the initial beverage service was a bit slow. We enjoyed the Jazz Musician performing during Brunch."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "We enjoyed our food and great mimosas! The live jazz musician was great and was a nice compliment. It didn't overpower the room and it wasn't a loud distraction. Server was great."

  • "Party of five for my parent's 61st wedding anniversary. This is their favorite restaurant. They were not disappointed. We made reservations - some of our party was running late but we were not rushed. We were all pleased with our food selections - salmon, lamb, shrimp and grits, and portobello. Our server Gabriel was awesome."

  • "My boyfriend and I went to The Pecan for dinner during our vacation in Georgia, and we absolutely loved it. Our server, Cedric, was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious! We especially loved our salads and the pecan pie. One of the best desserts we have ever had!"

  • "My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our date-night out here. Seth, our server was so kind & knowledgable. He said the food would speak for itself, and it truly did. Kudos to the chef! The food was excellent and the portions worth the price. The location is a cute, re-vitalized downtown street, which we loved. Close to the airport, so we will dine at the Pecan for dates and around air travel. Good luck Pecan...I think your great!"

  • "This was my second time at The Pecan and I think I enjoyed it much better than the first time. Last year, I had the crab cakes, which I didn't really care for. This weekend, I had the blackened salmon and it was excellent. Our reservation was at 5:30, so we were the first ones in the restaurant. As a result, our server was basically dedicated to us and was very attentive. My sister's fried catfish and greens were also very good. The food was hot and plentiful. I'll definitely be back...and I won't wait a year this time."

  • "Decor was pleasant. Waitress friendly. My wife's and brother's meals were done well. My Fried Lobster Tails did not have much flavor--not even sure if the Butter was butter. NO salt and pepper on tables---my brother had to go on a hunt for some as waitress was not in area after food was served. Appetizer medley was prepared well and was tasty--$36 seemed a bit pricey, however. Dessert took at least 20 min. My pecan pie was HORRIBLE--definitely not prepared in the traditional way, as I had expected. I left most of it on the plate. My brother's Peach Cobbler was good and my wife enjoyed her ice cream. Not sure if I will come back or not."

  • "After attending a function near the airport, decided we would try a place in the area. Big Mistake! Despite being rated 4.5 stars on OpenTable, this place needs a reality check. The food was barely so-so but the service was lousy! After being seated, water glasses despite being empty were never refilled. Counted at least 4 wait staff for no more than 12 diners but they were never around when looking for one. Saw them hanging out in the kitchen or sitting in the back near the toilets. When asked, my wife told the waiter her lamb chops were too salty. The next we heard from the waiter was when we ran him down for a check and he said " I hope you enjoyed your meal." Huh? When the check was delivered a 20% GRATUITY HAD ALREADY BEEN ADDED!! "

  • "The food is excellent however, the service was horrible. Our server needed more training and lacked personality. Our food took forever, we requested condiments...never received them. We wanted to order dessert and the server handed us our check and asked us to come again. "

  • " I/ We had been planning and talking about visiting this restaurant for a few months because we had some great discount coupons. After cancelling an "Anniversary" night Dinner reservation at Kyma, because of a late time slot, I sought out The Pecan restaurant and got our 7:00 pm time slot. The service and staff were wonderful and the food was prepared excellently and was very delicious.........and those are the main reasons why you visit restaurants. When I am hungry for good food and near the Pecan restaurant I would visit in a heartbeat."

  • "This is the sum of this restaurant: very good tasting food, but not great. Over-priced for what you get. And some of the slowest service that I've had at a restaurant."
    Dined on 5/10/2014
  • "The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. I rated the noise level as energetic because there was a very rambunctious (and drunk) couple at the table beside us being really loud. If they weren't there, it would have been very quiet and romantic. It was a tad annoying, but everything else was on point. Definitely reccomend. "

  • "I love the Pecan! The food is "slap yo mama" good; the wait staff are all courteous, polite, attentive, knowledgeable, efficient; and most definitely not last, my compliments to the Chef! "

  • "The only complaint I have is we had to wait about 30 min for our entrees after our appetizers, we were told there was some kind of miss communication and offered and offered a free desert as compensation. Other than that, the food was excellent I had the crab cake and the Shrimp & grits. Delicious! "

  • "The food was good and customer service was good. I would recommend this place for friends and family who have a flight lay over in the ATL. area. It is close enough to the airport to have a great fellowship in an environment that is friendly and clean. The atmosphere is a good way to get a taste of ATL especially if you are trying to encourage them to move into the area. "
