  • "Went to the Pearl for the 2nd time...and it was outstanding on all levels. The first time was excellent, but this was outstanding. We were there for an anniversary dinner and staff from door to table was turning themselves inside out to make our experience excellent. We had the wings to start, then the shrimp and grits and the flat iron steak. Both were even better than expected. The person that I was celebrating with is not a Cameron Mitchell fan, so I did not tell him it was one of their venues. Needless to say, he was stunned, and will return. Thank you for an outstanding dining experience!"

The service was wonderful too! I would gladly pay the normal menu price for a special occasion. The short rib was to die for :)"

  • "Biases out of the way first: I generally prefer chef-driven restaurants. One of the kids wanted to go here for their birthday, so I am back. Menu at the Pearl looks the same as a year ago to me. The Pearl is OK. Atmosphere is hopping. Food is generally good, but portions are really small. I had shrimp and grits which tasted great, but at best there were like 3 tablespoons of grits buried under the sauce."

  • "The food is the crown jewel of this place and that is what every restaurant should strive for. Service was decent, but not spectacular. The tables are pretty close together so it is possible to hear the conversation of your neighbors. We stopped in for restaurant week and made a reservation. Even so, we were seated about 10-15 minutes after the reservation time. I ordered the spoon bread (delicious) and the braised short rib (amazing). Our cocktails were ordered first and did not arrive until after our first course. Cocktails were not worth the money in my opinion. They were meh. I hope you have a sweet tooth because the pies are rich and sugary. My friend had the brown sugar pie. I did the apple blackberry pie. Both were delicious."

  • "We had a special occasion reason to go out to dinner. My husband and I were renewing our vows the next day. Excellent service - we wanted to sit, relax and talk & felt comfortable doing that and waiting to order. We tried oysters and the parmigianno w/ bacon clams. I liked the oysters better. Hubby had cuban sandwich and I had the special. Perfect portions & very good. I had the flourless cake and hubby had pecan pie. The coffee was excellent. Hubby has a very discerning taste for pecan pie because it's his favorite & he said it was good. The option of Jeni's ice cream is terrific. Even though it's a casual place and has energy, it's nice for couples or groups. I think you could dress any way you want and fit in. Really enjoyed our visit."

  • "We enjoyed eating at the Pearl. Had a cozy, casual, trendy feel. Friendly, prompt service. The food was fantastic. We had deviled eggs and clam chowder as appetizers. The clam chowder was served with a couple of clams still in the shell. Fresh, hearty, creamy and delicious. Deviled eggs were perfect, but we did think the portion was small. (2 eggs, or 4 egg halves) Next time we would order two. We also got the hangar steak which was tender and delicious. The sauce was a little spicy (in a good way). The mud pie was my dessert and was rich and delicious. My husband got the brown sugar pie, which I thought was delicious. He was a little disappointed by its non fluffy appearance/taste and would have preferred a more substantial pie."

If I had to recommend any items, it would be the deviled eggs (which I typically distaste, yet some how The Pearl makes them perfect) and the braised short rib (an incredible melt-in-your-mouth texture, cannot even begin to put into words). Overall, another fantastic Cameron Mitchell restaurant."

  • "As a returning guest, The Pearl had its ups and downs last night. Shrimp and Grits and Devils on Horseback were both amazing menu choices as were the fresh Oysters!; however, their version of Southern Fried Chicken left everyone wishing for something different. Although very busy, initial greeting and drink service was very slow, and the Margarita was not drinkable. Stick to the Moscow Mule for a great refreshing drink, if you visit. The Pearl is always fun and energetic but last night just a little better than average."

Opening at 4:00 (thank you says Mother) The fresh shucked oysters and clams were perfect. The lovely hostess at the front was super friendly and accommodating. Cory, our server was efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable. Funky atmosphere gives the diner much to enjoy while relaxing. Thanks to all."

  • "My wife and I took my son and daughter in law here for their 1st anniversary. The menu is incredible. It ranges from burgers to excellent choices of fish and steaks. My son and I had the shrimp and grits. It was served with kielbasa, poblano peppers and Gouda cheese. Nice combination of flavors. We both loved it. My wife had the fish special of the night which was a white salmon I believe in a white wine sauce. Wonderful. I can't remember what my daughter in law had. The restaurant gave the anniversary couple a piece of their to die for brown sugar pie. Service was great. The atmosphere is so upbeat and fun. It's a great place to go in the Short North in Columbus. They will see me again very soon. Cameron Mitchell has scored once again!!"
