  • "Forget the high end restaurants that you hear about in Napa Valley. The Pear has exceptional cuisine and ambiance. This is the best kept secret in the valley. We sat outside overlooking the Napa River. Our food was exceptionally good. The service was very attentive, without hovering. There was live music that made the experience unforgettable. If you are traveling to the Napa area, put The Pear on your dining list!"

People who came in later than our group were served and finished before our entrees arrived. portions were small. the dinner plate of gnocchi consisted of six gnocchi, which might have worked as a small plate but not as an entree. Not at the price charged."

  • "So glad we tried this place! We got the fryed pickles which were ok. I got the strawberry basil mojito and it was soooo good! Could drink those all day. For the main dish we got the chicken & waffles which were bomb! Sooo sooo good! You have to get it! It is a big plate too, it could feed two people. We also got the burbon ribs! Also very good! It came with the mac&cheese which was the best!! Highly recommend! The service was good. Our waitress was nice. Just something you would expect. Nothing above & beyond though."

  • "I was really excited to try this place since I love The Peasant and the Pear in Danville. I ordered the chicken and waffle. The waffle was good (it had bacon in it) but the chicken was gross. It was skinless boneless chicken breast breaded and deep fried. It was dry and had some sort of weird pinkish gel between the breading and the chicken itself. I only ate two bites of the chicken but finished the waffle. I was really looking forward to having the bread pudding since their sister restaurant makes such a great one, but I skipped it and went next door for gelato instead."

  • "The overall lunch experience was a memorable one. Waiter was great. Our water was kept filled which I drink a lot of water. Our 3 lunches were tasty. I had chicken and waffles. The chicken breast was so moist and waffle very tasty. The shrimp po boy was just as tasty and pulled pork sandwich was delicious. We had a very enjoyable time at this restaurant. Will be back"

  • "We celebrated two birthdays at a late lunch reservations @ 2:30. We sat outside and the patio is quite yet still vibrant with river views. The five of us ordered a few appetizers to share; crab dip, mussels and spring salad. All were wonderfully prepared. We each than ordered different main courses; shrimp and grits, chicken and dumplings, chicken and waffles, fish and chips and steak frites. Each dish was prepared excellently, flavorful and the portions were, well let's say our group likes to eat and a couple of boxes to go were needed. Service was attentive, quick and efficient. We definitely will be back and next time I will have the fish and chips which was the star!"

  • "My husband and I ate lunch here based on reviews. Reviews were overrated or else reviewers been eating bad food elsewhere to rate this place so highly. After we placed our order, entrees took 25 minutes to prepare. Other people came after us were served first.We had the Chicken and waffle and the Jamba Yo Yo, aka - Jambalaya. The Jamba tasted bad - hint of jalapeno pepper, otherwise chicken was tasteless and the sauce not good. You have not tasted Jambalaya until you eat this in New Orleans. Don't waste your money one this Jamba. The Chicken and Waffle was better. But the chicken portion was not big and the waffle was good. Chicken marinated well with flavor - but entree not worth the price. Didn't order dessert based on food quality."

  • "The flavor of the food wasnt bad, however when one consumes 4 glasses of water, one would surmise that the reason is due to the amount of salt added to their dishes. I was not pleased with the amount of salt added to their chicken and dumplings... and neither would you, unless you like to drink a lot of water."

  • "2nd time to Pear, love it. My girlfriend and I shared the fried pickles, black and blue salad, and had the Fish and Chips. So good. The Black and Blue salad was amazing. I think that could have been my dinner. But the Catfish was so good, I am glad we shared it. We were definitely full. Our Server was excellent, staff is great. I would recommend for sure. "

I had the Fish & Chips which were looked great and tasted fresh. I asked for Mash Pots in place of my FF. Very accommodating and service was easy going. I have been here many times and the food has always been delicious."

Our waiter was very attentive and professional, but way too many unprofessional secondary wait staff. Lovely setting on Napa riverfront. "

  • "We are visiting Napa for my 60th Bday and chose The Pear for my bday dinner since we had already been on the Wine Train for a fabulous lunch. We made reservations and arrived right on time. To our disappointment, the last outside table was given to a party of three who just walked up without reservations. When I asked about the table and our reservation, they just replied that everything was First Come, First Serve. So much for reservations. the Chicken and Dumplings and the Gumbo were both under cooked and barely edible. They only thing we enjoyed was the quesadilla as our appetizer. "

  • "My girlfriend and I enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend visit to Napa wine country and wrapped it up with dinner over at The Pear. We've visited their other restaurant in Danville and was glad to see such wonderful food selections. Andrew, our waiter, epitomized what a waiter should be -- courteous, smart, fast, and friendly; plus he did it with a smile. I enjoyed my dinner selection and would highly recommend a visit to downtown Napa to enjoy the views of the waterfront."

  • "Glad we found this restaurant in Open Table.. We were on our way to a concert at the Opera House (Now City Winery). Wanted a place not to pricey to eat beforehand and we found it. Food was great. Bourbon ribs was excellent and my husband had the jambalaya which he loved ,and added shrimp to it. Ordered a nice cold bottle of white wine and sat outside where we could see the river and all the people enjoying the nice warm evening. The waiters and waitresses all helped out everyone and checked on us all through the meal. I would definitely recommend this to anybody in the area of Napa. I will totally come back.. They were out of the tater tots appetizer and would like to try that.."

  • "This restaurant is on the Riverwalk in downtown Napa,nice spot. My husband had the Voodoo Stew, said it was fantastic (but not very spicy) and I had the black and bleu salad (fantastic). Dessert was 'fair' carrot cake so didn't finish it (we told the waiter they needed to work on that). Dinner, 3 glasses of wine and dessert appx $80. Service was quick and efficient. We plan on returning for the chicken & waffles as that dish looked fantastic- we are from the south :)"

  • "It's great to try a new place and like it so much you want to go back, especially with all the wonderful restaurants in this area. We started with the fondue and fried pickles. Fun food and very good. Our group had voo-doo stew, shortribs, chicken & dumplin's, and salmon. All loved their dishes! The table shared a piece of carrot cake and a pear tart with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, both exceptional. The service was friendly and prompt and the bottle of wine was discounted because of a Wed. night special. Really couldn't ask for a better experience."
