A word from The Park
The Park stands out from the rest. This hip spot in the heart of the meatpacking district is bound to impress even the most jaded of the New York elite. Each room evokes a different theme--from the rainforest-style dining room to the Red Room infused with Asian aesthetic. The dining room encircles an immense cluster of bamboo, with other tropical plants stand strategically placed. The organic nature of the setting is complimented splendidly by the healthy, adventurous dishes of new American cuisine on the menu. A glass enclosed Atrium offers a secluded and chic spot for any private event or party. The penthouse leads to a rooftop patio with a hot tub, also suited for social gatherings. In addition, a heated outdoor garden with Japanese maple trees gives diners the chance to enjoy the Park's distinct cuisine outside any time of year. Come to the Park and escape from the norm.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant's decor is really interesting, no matter which room you choose to dine in. The service was very good as was the meal, although our group settled for small plates and I cannot comment on the larger entrees. What we did have was very good--the lamb meatballs, mussels and personal pizza which I shared with my wife were excellent. I would very much recommend a trip to "The Park"."

  • "We had a large party that was quickly accommodated. Food was good, not fantastic. Calimari apetizer sold and chicken milanesa very good. Service, although attentive, left much to be desired. Waitress was brusk, and the man who helped clear dishes at various points in the meal was beyond rude, reaching over and under me multiple times while I was attempting to pour drinks or pass food. Really very annoying and disruptive. This is the second time we have been here - will look for another place in this area next time."

  • "Had a table looking out at the highline, such a different place for the city. Food was great!"

  • "I've been to The Park twice now - once for drinks and the second for food. What keeps me coming back is the ambiance! The style, greenery, the music is so unique - I love being there!"

  • "I love all of the trees inside! Very cool atmosphere! Yummy drinks and food and right by Chelsea market! Perfect!"

  • "I had been to The Park a while ago and had an OK brunch. This time the menu seemed changed for the better. I loved the French Toast which was very sweet and the mango mimosa. The others who were with me were also pleased with their choices. My husband had pulled pork with poached eggs and sweet potato hash which he loved. Our friend had eggs, sausage and toast which he liked. In addition it was quiet there not boisterous at all."

  • "Once seated, we glanced over the menu and noticed that the online menu was slightly different (e.g. Frittata was shown online but not on the menu). I made another selection - Smoked Salmon. Our server returned shortly stating they did not have any bagels (PS: the Chelsea Market, only on the next block)? We brushed that off. When our coffee was served we looked for sugar, nothing was around. Soon after, the staff started to put the sugar containers out. Also we had to continually ask for coffee refills. The ultimate was when we got the bill it included both the Smoked Salmon in addition to the Eggs Benedict. We were about to leave when a manager asked how things went. The manager tried to make excuses and at best only offered an apology."

  • "I booked a reservation on Open Table for brunch on June 15th, showed up with my friends at the appointed time, and saw that the restaurant had been shut down by the Health Department."

  • "I showed up for my reservation to find that the restaurant was closed for a private wedding, and also saw signs on the doors from the health inspector. Showing up, across town, with guests visiting NYC, to find we could not eat lunch like we had planned and reserved was terrible."

  • "We had a reservation but when we showed up the restaurant was closed for a private party with an employee inside. No reason or explanation was given, nor were we notified by the staff or Opentable. Very disappointed, I was excited to show my mother this spot and treat her to a nice dinner for her birthday. I would come back but am confused by the lack of communication."

  • "Unfortunately, I cannot review my dining experience at The Park because it never occurred. My family had a reservation for Father's Day brunch, which I made 1.5 weeks in advance and confirmed two days prior. However, on Saturday The Park cancelled our reservation because the restaurant had closed for "mandatory repairs" and would reopen on Tuesday. We received no explanation and a half-hearted apology, which lead to speculation that it closed due to health code violations - who knows! We scrambled to find another restaurant and enjoyed a delicious brunch at Barbuto instead. I was dismayed by what happened with The Park, particularly because our reservation was for a special family gathering, and won't bother trying to eat there again."

  • "They closed the place down for a private dinner this past Saturday and never bothered to update their open table. So my party along with others came all the way there and we not able to dine. Hostess was rude and unapologenic"

  • "The restaurant was closed- by the Health Department!!!! I was a little upset because my mom was visiting and we only had limited time before a trip from Chelsea pier. I wish open table wouldn't have recommended the place and allowed me to make an online reservation. It was a little embarrassing. We has a bad brunch down the street at a pub. Not a good experience. Thank God after the event at the pier we had a fabulous dinner at Cookshop!"

  • "the space is large and a variety of rooms - nice for NYC!"

  • "It is a great space, light and airy, with low noise level. The food is enjoyable and tasty. I had asparagus salad and farro risotto. Close to spectacular was the dessert though: dark chocolate budino with olive oil gelato! I loved it. Service was ok, the seats however have to be seen to. I sat on a very old faux-leather couch which was not so nice. I was here with a group once, and they did a very good job."

  • "The food was ok, not better than cheap local diner...chicken was dry and tasteless, salad was fine, but instead of arugula, noted in menu, mixed greens were served. Go figure! Burger was better, but we asked for ketchup twice and never got it. Service was slow. Touristic place nearby Highline. Wouldn't go there again. Too pricy for mediocre food and bad service."

  • "It was a lovely evening and The Park had the perfect inside/outside ambiance, but we were seated next to an engagement party table of 20 and the noise level was high and the cell phone cameras were working overtime. In a restaurant this size (it's huge) it should not be a problem to seat large parties at a distance from individual diners. Food was ok, nothing special, but it was lovely to be sort of outside on a great night. Warning -- lots of kids and strollers."

  • "While the wait staff wqs pleasant and trying their best, there were too few for the number of diners. Our biggest complaint was the reception desk. We arrived 20 minutes early for a 7:30 reservation. We were told to step aside and return to the desk at 7:30. Meanwhile, two parties of "walk-ins" arrived, and were promptly seated. We complained and were subsequently shown to our table. Odd and illogical. Will not return nor recommend."

  • "Met a friend for brunch on Sat. Reservations are a must as The Park was packed - and good for them! Had pulled pork and sweet potatoe has with a side of polenta. Very good - everyone was happy :)"

  • "The fries that used to be served here made it a destination restaurant for me: although they are still served in a cute brown paper bag, they are standard frozen fries, without the seasalt and rosemary. Also, on a Saturday night after about ten, the music from the club area makes it uncomfortable to dine. Beautiful place, however, and very pleasant service"

  • "The staff was great and so helpful with recommendations. What's better is when the food arrived it was out of this world. Definitely recommend the grilled salmon! Our reservations were for 7:30 but they took us early, they gave us the option to sit indoors or in the garden. We got a great booth and service was so quick. This is great for a fun, laid back night out or to celebrate a special occasion. "

  • "We had reservations for noon. The restaurant was far from full but we still had to wait at least 10 minutes to be seated. I had specifically asked when making my reservation to be seated outside. After waiting over 10 minutes, the hostess tried to seat us indoors, even though there were many tables open out doors. The service was excellent. The restaurant served complimentary banana nut bread but the flavor was lacking and the bread dry. I had the french toast, which was good but nothing to write home about. My bacon was under cooked. The ambiance was very nice. The outside, open air wonderful on a nice spring day but with so many nice NYC restaurants, I do not see myself returning, at least for brunch. "

  • "While the venue itself is not the usual NY brunch scene (instead it is bright, airy) the food was only so-so. The ice box oatmeal was disappointing, no trace of the promised salted caramel taste. Our waitress visited our table twice: to take the order, and to deliver the check. Restrooms were in a pretty disgusting state, which does make one wonder what the kitchen looks like. "

  • "I have been to the park 5 times before , the food is really good and I love the garden. but this time the service was very poor, for a Tuesday night and a half empty place. Our server was no where to be found it took 20 min just to get our drink orders, and another 20 for our food order. she never came by to check on us for drinks or if we needed anything. It was very disappointing to eat there this time. "

  • "I was with a party of 3 during a not so busy period. Most of the tables were empty, but we still had to wait for a table even though we had a reservation. It was also pretty clear that they were understaffed. Once we were seated we had to wait about 15 minutes to be approached, 10 minutes to get our drinks and order, and another 40 minutes to be brought our salads. During the times we were waiting, we noticed service issues in the dining room were not isolated and a bunch of dishes were sent back to the kitchen for one reason or another. I was disappointed at the quality of our food as well. The romaine in my Caesar was wilted and overdressed. Unfortunate, as the restaurant and dining room is so beautiful. We will not be returning."

  • "For me, the scenic view at The Park is enjoyed indoors. The "garden" area of the restaurant provides great ambience. And while the garden was not available that day due to a wedding, the staff was very accommodating in switching us to a great table in the main dining room, which is no eyesore either. We mmm'd our way through a variety of "foodie" style appetizers and entrees and the service was attentive and friendly. Our guest travelers were very impressed and pleased. "

  • "A neighborhood stalwart, which delivers delicious food close to the Highline and local area galleries. Enjoy the trendy bar scene post-work or weeknights, or opt for a table in the garden for brunch or an afternoon retreat from the city. I have attended with both large groups and for more intimate gatherings, and have always been impressed with their good customer service, great food, and stylish décor. "

  • "It felt like an endless search to find a destination appropriate for a pre-engagement dinner. My fiance and I are from Chicago, IL, but wanted a restaurant close to the Hudson and a nice ambiance. The service was excellent and certainly friendly. The food was superb, which includes the grilled flatbread and Mediterranean salad for an appetizer, a classic turkey burger as an entree, and an ice cream sundae to end the meal. If you are looking for a place that has friendly faces, tasty treats, and close proximity to the water (more specifically the High Line for my engagement purposes!), The Park provides an amazing experience for a reasonable price! • "Over priced, poor service and food was not very good. Went for a birthday ocassion . 3 adults and 1 child bill was 187.00 for 3 burgers an Indiv pizza , 1 appetizer and 2 glasses of wine. Took forever to be served. Nice visual atmosphere but will not return for food. Seemed like a nice bar but no food again!"
