  • "Waiter recommended prix fix menu. We obliged. Petite filet with lobster and Bernaise was melt in your mouth tender. Lobster bisque was a standout and was gluten free (thickened with rice). Green beans were yummy with pancetta and pine nuts. Goat cheese mashed potato was tasty, as well. No room for dessert, with generous sides and a drink. Had a gift certificate which helped defray the cost. Would normally be on the high side for us. Will have to do cheap eats for awhile to make up for the splurge."

  • "We had made note of fact this was our 50th anniversary when we made our Open Table reservation but were pleasantly surprised by all the attention paid to us on this special occasion. Brian Brosnihan, the manager, made sure to visit us several times and the Executive Chef also paid us a visit. We have dined here before and our server Joseph Rhoudou has served us before. He is professional, efficient, and friendly. Everything went perfect from our greeting at the door to our leaving. The best part though was the food. We had a lump crabmeat crab cake and it was the best we have ever had, and that includes those we had in Baltimore a couple of years ago. Filet cooked perfectly and 1/2 lobster were delicious. A great spot for a romantic meal."

  • "We had heard from a few people that the Palms was one of the better places to get some nice food in Boston, we were feeling like steak that day and decided to forgo our usual Capitol Grille and try it out. Everything was great up until it came to our steaks. It could have been a different method of cooking, but the medium rare steak did not look like the typical red, juicy steak. If anything, it looked as if the edges were well done, and the inside was on the rarer side of rare. Outside of that, everything was great."

  • "We were back to celebrate another birthday celebration. Once again Stephani gave us a warm welcome back and made the whole night special. They had Prime Rib as a special and we got two huge portions to complement our split lobster "surf and turf" it was the best prime rib in my long dining career, needless to say we had enough leftovers for a great brunch and another great leftover meal."

  • "I have eaten at the Palm several times in the past for work related events, but saw an opportunity to bring my wife and her parents for dinner before attending a show in Boston since none of them had ever been. From the start to the end of our time there they raved about everything, service, selections, specials, wine, food, and desert. It made a night out with the in-laws and my wife a great all around time. We will be doing it again soon."

  • "After almost a year we decided to return to the Palm in Boston. Last year we had a terrible experience where the service was so slow and the lobsters came out raw! The manager gave us a card that was worth 2 free entrees so last Friday night we decided to venture into Boston. We sat outside and at first waited "10" minutes for a waiter to come over to us. At this moment I thought they had not improved!! Then a waitress came over and took over the entire meal and I can not say enough how the food was fantastic (baked Stuffed 3 lb lobsters) and the service from that moment on was impeccable! I would definitely go back again!!"

You have to leave room for the "bag of donuts"; a great dessert to share and have just a bite of something sweet. The staff was friendly, accommodating and ultimate professionals.   • "The noise level was awful. Ceilings too high and tables spread out too much. Ordered lobster for 2 that we had a coupon for and it was awful. I think they split the lobsters before cooking so that they put the tails in the oven and then cooked (steamed) the claws. The claws were raw!!! To their credit, they comped our meal, but suffice it to say that with all the wonderful places to eat in Boston, we will not be going back to the Palm!"

  • "I've been a fan and happy 837 Club member at the Palm for many years, and have had otherwise excellent experiences...until this visit. The food was outstanding as always, but the service was the worst I've ever experienced. Namely: 1. Ordered a small Caesar salad twice (since the first order wasn't placed?) - then it took almost 20 minutes and arrived just short of the main entree. Nothing worse than cold steak. 2. Only had one drink service 3. Never had any water refills 4. Ordered a 'medium-well' filet that came completely 'well'. It was perplexing to me, since there were few customers and only the patio open. I hope that the service will be improved in the future. "

  • "The restaurant was lovely, the service was perfect, but, and this is a big but, it was incredibly noisy so if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner out, this is not the place. The bar was 4 deep with people and because of this and the openness of the restaurant, we asked to be seated far away from the bar but we still had to sit right next to each other to hear what the other person was saying. The food was served hot and it was very good but not sure if we would go back because of the noise problem. "

My wife & I think your Lobster was the very best we have ever had, our list includes, San Fran, Las Vegas, Portland Or & Portland Maine, Chicago, NY, KC, Tulsa, Dallas. Our dinner was on Sunday eve to avoid a big crowd. We visit Boston twice a year and plan to come back for sure!!"

  • "The new palm is immense. Servers cover a huge area, with long walks to the kitchen and long walks to the bar. The result: They are seldom around(Though you can sometimes see them off in the distance). At the old Palm you felt catered to and pampered. At the new Palm, it seems like ages between contact with your server or anyone else. Some major reorganization is needed to manage such a large space. We loved the old Palm and have hit the new one numerous times, hoping it turns the corner. Even with the best servers, the results have been the same. We will likely stop going."

  • "A friend and I heard about the Palm's Chicken Parmigiana and decided to make a reservation and try it for ourselves. We were not disappointed the Chicken Parmigiana was fantastic. One suggestion I can make is that you do not need to add anything to the entree other than the Chicken Parmigiana unless you want to take home a 'doggie bag'. The Chicken Parm portion is huge. One disappointment with this reservation was that for dessert I ordered a key lime pie which I thought I was going to be getting, but apparently they ran out of the key lime pie and I ended up with a lemon pie. "

Nevertheless, once the staff realized how our reservation and service had been handled, they stepped up and went above and beyond to make sure were accommodated and happy. A terrific recovery."

  • "Admittedly it was a Saturday night and "graduation time." But the restaurant should have known this and staffed itself with competent wait staff. The first waitress didn't have a clue how to serve: screwed up the drink order, was rushed and showed it, late getting even a glass of water to the table and when she did, she spilled it all over the place. After complaining to the management our second waitress was a vast improvement. The food itself was superb. But a restaurant that charges as much as the Palm (and they charge a great deal) should be better staffed."

I had the filet mignon and my husband has the Chilean sea bass. We would not hesitate to return to the Palm, Boston."

  • "I was a fan of the Palm in years past but on this outing felt the value for price paid was rather poor. If your going to charge top dollar, then the experience needs to deliver. Luke warm food, at times awkward service, and "cold" bread service appeared to be an afterthought. The space is nice and the drinks well executed but overall the majority of details were just passed over. "

  • "My party and I, including two 30 year veterans of various east coast Palm restaurants, were disappointed by several aspects of our meal. The classic bread basket with the great raisin bread was not offered or served. We were told that the signature blue cheese dressing was not available on the mixed green salad, despite having had the salad that way for decades before. The portion of hash browns was at best 1/2 of the size usually served as was the size of the chocolate cake. Although the steak was terrific the meal was diminished by the skimpiness and alterations of these other aspects of the meal. I'll give the New York location another try but will be hard pressed to return to Boston as it did not offer a true "Palm experience"."

  • "How can a steak house overcook a Filet TWICE? How does a steak house not offer a BAKED POTATO? I have been a long time paron and 837 club member. Since re opening in Boston approx a year ago I have dined 5 times...2 out of 5 I have been dissatisfied. Two overcooked filets this last time, was the last straw. Left without asking for them to make the third time a charm."
